I'm quite pissed off that they actually ask the audience to do standing ovations anyway. There are so many of them, even for very mediocre dances, that they become absolutely meaningless, and therefore they should if anything be discouraged. Plus, if they were, we would be spared the everlasting sound of Tess squawking "They're on their feet!!!" as if such a thing had never happened before.

hudyerwheesht · 24/11/2015 13:15

Oh god yy to Tess and her "they're on their feet" Every. Fucking. Time. It's exactly like what Bruce used to do "look, look - they're all standing!"

I'd also like to know when Ian said NPP was good?!

ppeatfruit · 24/11/2015 13:17

It was last week on ITT Tenys IW called him 'light on his feet' and we saw the VT of PA's large flat feet in black and white trainers, not leaving the floor at all Grin

Tensmumym · 24/11/2015 13:19

Thanks ppeat. Shame as I think he's normally quite truthful. Louis Smith gave a more accurate assessment on Friday's ITT panel - said he wasn't sharp enough and predicted he'd be in the bottom two.

ppeatfruit · 24/11/2015 13:34

Yes I LOVED Louis last week, he knows a lot about the dances and obviously hadn't been told the "Thou shalt worship P.A." Policy of SCD this series Grin

Grin

"we saw the VT of PA's large flat feet in black and white trainers, not leaving the floor at all"

Grin

Must start watching ITT more. Very disappointed in IW though, I thought better of him.

AllMyBestFriendsAreMetalheads · 24/11/2015 13:55

I actually think this has done Jamelia a load of good, I'm not a huge fan of hers but it seems very clear she didn't deserve to leave on Saturday and I would say that she now has more public support than she did before the weekend.

Fair play to her for what she said on ITT, good job she's got an ITV contract!

SheHasAWildHeart · 24/11/2015 14:16

Agree with you AllMyBest she's handling it just right, and it's probably down to Tristran, I think some other pros wouldn't have been so diplomatic or subtle about it.

emotionsecho · 24/11/2015 15:31

Louis Smith was excellent on the Friday panel last week refusing to toe the party line about PAGrin, I wonder if he will be invited back!

I doubt we will hear anything from the judges, I can't see anyone asking them the difficult questions that we would like answering. I guess the BBC will just sit back and wait for the fuss to die down, I'm not sure how much it is reverberating on social media as the only way they will say anything is if it shows no sign of going away and is deemed to be harming the SCD brand.

SoupDragon · 24/11/2015 15:39

"we saw the VT of PA's large flat feet in black and white trainers, not leaving the floor at all"

Might there have been an element of deliberateness about the pairing of the comment and the VT?

digerd · 24/11/2015 15:52

Re Darcy's and Iam Waite's false comments, it reminds me of the fairy tale The Emporer's New Clothes Grin.
Question still remains " but why?"

I actually feel sorry for PA as he works really hard and wants to be a good dancer so much, but nothing he does is working.
Also wondering why Janette looked so angry in a couple of her close up clips.

digerd · 24/11/2015 15:55

oops Emperor's

ppeatfruit · 24/11/2015 16:35

Yes you could be right SoupDragon .

I get the feeling that Janette is not pleased at all with PA. She always says the same things and never looks properly happy.

It must be difficult for Zoe to try to ignore all the flak. She does lighthearted well but maybe there's a tad bit of awkwardness ?

digerd a very good question what have the beeb got to gain ? I reckon they have much more to lose actually.

somepeopledontknowthat · 24/11/2015 16:39

It's almost like the wider media is in on the PA thing too. I was reading some trash mag the other day (Closer or Now??) and in it there was an article about PA and Katie Price and they referred to how he was doing really well and tipped to win on Strictly. I just thought, what? Since when??

ppeatfruit · 24/11/2015 16:47

So what do the producers do next week? Esp. if PA's the BOTLB again, get him to win against Katie?

MovemberSucks · 24/11/2015 17:07

I guess that they have guaranteed to keep him in for a certain number of weeks. So if he scores low next week but appears to be his usual smug self then we'll know he's not going even if he's in the dance off, if he looks nervous when they're announcing the bottom two then we'll know it's going to be a fair decision on merit.

Maybe they didn't want such a woman heavy field yet and so had to keep him in ?? I still think that's unfair.

Chatty Man looks good this week. Dream line up actually except for Katie Grin

nuttybananas · 24/11/2015 19:10

So I logged in to see the verdict on ITT tonight but nothing? everyone else couldn't bear to watch him either!!!!!

KurriKurri · 24/11/2015 19:17

How many times did he mention getting a ten from Len/being top of the leader board/blahblahbullshit. ?

They were all pushing the 'that's all in the past, let's move on' line weren't they Grin

I watched him. He made sure that we all knew that he had the first ever '10' in this years competition and Jeanette also reminded him to tell us that Len had also given him a standing ovation. He also reiterated that he was gutted to be in the DO with Jamelia as it had been her best week and his worst.
Karen Hardys critique of NPP was so brief you could have missed it.
Although she did warn us that from now on in there will be shocks in the bottom two so we should be prepared for that.
