That remark about cutting off the little boy's hair, arms and legs, putting them in a bag then kicking it ... WTF?! It was so bizarre it made me laugh out loud. Jay must've been on the sauce before the show ...

emotionsecho · 24/11/2015 10:34

Jay was going on about how cute the child was and then it veered off into something a bit odd, but at the end he did reiterate how cute and lovely the child was, perhaps he had had a bit too much of the falling down water as he seemed more animated than usual.

SoupDragon · 24/11/2015 10:40

Darcey does look particularly unimpressed when Len is explaining that he would have kept Jamelia in...

SheHasAWildHeart · 24/11/2015 11:05

I wonder what that little boy and his parents made of Jay's randomness!

ppeatfruit · 24/11/2015 11:22

Yes Anyonebut Did you notice or anyone else notice that the false standing ovation applied to the audience on the right side of the ball room not to the side by the judges they were firmly on their bums. Grin

Yes I loved the 3 pros on ITT showing how the jive SHOULD be danced (very telling) IMO.

emotionsecho · 24/11/2015 11:50

Darcy looked very uncomfortable during the whole of that debacle but I have no sympathy for her I'm afraid, in fact all the judges have gone further down in my estimation this series.

KurriKurri · 24/11/2015 11:59

I think the hair arms and legs remark - was getting a bit over excited about how cute the little boy was - he was all curly hair and little stompy arms and legs dancing - along the lines of 'he's so cute I could eat him, I want to wrap him up and steal him' - I think Aliona corrected the kick to 'kiss'- but yes I think partying may have occurred and it came out very random - I'm sure Jay doesn't actually want to cut children up and kick them, - he's a vegetarian and donates his hair to princess trust, so am sticking with my assumption that he is a nice gentle caring person. Grin

I think if I were in the audience I would refuse to stand for these fake things - how could they make them do it? - throw everyone out who wouldn't stand up?

ppeatfruit · 24/11/2015 12:04

Well Emotion Len had gone up in my estimation he had the balls to actually protest. I don't reckon he cares if he's removed or not. They won't dare to remove him.

SoupDragon · 24/11/2015 12:05

the false standing ovation applied to the audience on the right side of the ball room not to the side by the judges they were firmly on their bums.

Yes! Also, there is only a smattering of polite clapping along with the music during NPPs dance and the looks on the faces of the fake standing ovation people are expressions of blankness rather than joy at a superb performance.

SoupDragon · 24/11/2015 12:06

I think Len was probably allowed to be honest as his vote didn't matter. If any one of the others had voted for Jamelia, he would have had to vote NPP.

SheHasAWildHeart · 24/11/2015 12:08

They should have the judges on ITT and ask them how a jove should be danced and then show the PA's dance again.

ppeatfruit · 24/11/2015 12:12

I wonder, if the judges decided to walk, what the beeb would do? I suppose they're on contracts that would be difficult to break.

SoupDragon · 24/11/2015 12:14

I do think they probably had choice with the vote.

KurriKurri · 24/11/2015 12:14

Is it tonight that Karen gives her opinions on the dances - she;s usually fairly outspoken - will be interesting to see what she says.

Tensmumym · 24/11/2015 12:18

Monkseal re. Peter's routine:Smile " The major problem is that it looks sweet f all like a jive. The subsidiary problem is that it doesn’t look much like anything else either.Oh and the bits in there that do look like jive are terribly done. Oddly enough for a man who spends so much time in his dances nearly kneeing himself in the face, he barely seems able to get his feet off the floor, awkwardly scuffing them like someone trying to flick away a puppy humping his leg. It’s weird, because you’d think Peter’s pop-dance style would lend itself to the jive just as it did to the Charleston but…it really really doesnt. It gets half a standing ovation, most noticably from the celebrity filled part of the audience, and Len starts for the judges by saying that it’s always a joy to watch Peter dance (…) but that wasn’t his finest hour. His hands got really wide, especially in the pivots and the chassis could have been crisper…and then he apologises for making it sound like the dance was terrible, when it wasn’t. Len, it was, and also you criticised, like, two things. Stop mollycoddling the man. " "Tess asks Craig where that jive falls in terms of the great numbers we’ve seen this series from Jay, Kellie, Anita, Georgia, Katie…Craig says it’s right at the bottom unfortunately. You’d think so Craig, but as a group you’re about to vote it the fourth best one out of ten."

SheHasAWildHeart · 24/11/2015 12:20

Judges won't leave, it'd be like cutting your nose to spite your face. And I really don't think that after this PA will win, and we all knew Jamelia wouldn't win, so the producers will be thinking 'all publicity is good publicity' especially as X Factor ratings are going down and the BBC have lost The Voice to them.

ppeatfruit · 24/11/2015 12:21

Darcey, especially, didn't have to lie IMO; she'd get work anywhere if she wanted it.

Iam surpised at the beeb given the huge stink there's been about their finances and 'not telling the truth' recently.

ppeatfruit · 24/11/2015 12:22

Though, sadly, I'm prepared to believe anything about them now. I do have inside knowledge too.

ppeatfruit · 24/11/2015 12:28

Thanks for that quote Tenysmumym Monkseal always tells it like it is Grin

emotionsecho · 24/11/2015 12:29

ppeatfruit I'm a bit cynical, Len's opinion didn't count so he could be the 'good guy'.

She would be an interesting question but when they can sit in front of a screen waxing lyrical about someone being completely in sync with their partner whilst the screen shows the exact opposite I'm not sure the answer would be worth hearingGrin.

Well as I said I'm becoming that way emotion and I don't want to Sad They are idiots to themselves because SCD is such a popular programme. To hear Ian Waite calling a shit dance good really shocked me.

emotionsecho · 24/11/2015 12:47

It was blindingly obviously from the comments made to Jamelia before the Dance Off that she was going home no matter what. In this particular Dance Off the public vote had the same two at the bottom as the judges had on the leader board so the bottom one should have gone.

Tensmumym · 24/11/2015 12:49

ppeat Did Ian call Peter's dance good??

I can't understand why Strictly/the Beeb would orchestrate it to keep Peter in the competition. The fake standing ovation, removing negative comments from their Facebook page about the audience in Blackpool booing the decision - it's like living in North Korea. How did they think this was a good idea and one they could get away with? Are they not familiar with social media? Last night's ITT was a must see - especially the reactions of Zoe and Tristan Smile. I'm not a fan of Jamelia but she handled the situation brilliantly. However if she hadn't brought up the controversy I don't think it would have been mentioned. My 5 year old keeps asking why they kept Peter when Jamelia was better and I can only look at her with a shrug of my shoulders. Sad Would love to hear a detailed explanation from the judges explaining their reasons.
