Dumbledoresgirl- you misspelt 'gorgeous' when you mentioned Jay - just saying WinkGrin

I don't understand why they would try to keep in people that the producers think are popular if that doesn't tally with who the public like. They must have a fair idea pretty quickly who is getting most votes, and surely they want lots of people voting - so common sense would say if you are going to fix it, keep in the people attracting the most votes.

I never watch Loose Women - so don;t really know anything about Jamelia -although I'd heard about the dubious remarks she's made. But I do think she handled being in the DO every week and losing with grace and good humour - better than some have done in the past (Jan Ravens shrieking 'I Hope You're Happy Now' anyone ??? )

I wish they'd stop the 'how does it feel to be in the DO' interview - because they all start doing their 'it's been so wonderful etc etc' leaving speech, then if they lose they do it all over again, and if they don't we have to hear it again next time. How many times are we going to have to hear Peter oozing insincerity before he actually gets the boot?

I know lots of people think he's harmless - but IMO he is a man who with his ex wife had an appalling reality show where he and KP shouted at each other and were vile and pimped their children. If he loves his kids so much, why doesn't he have enough savvy to keep them well out of the media glare so they can grow up in a normal way? I just don't buy the 'loveable buffoon' act.

I loathe celebs using their children to make money and washing their marital dirty linen in public - there is never a week goes by when he is not on the cover of some shite magazine drivelling on about some bollox. Publicity man-whore is what he is.
Apart from that I'm fine with him Grin Grin

The80sweregreat · 23/11/2015 15:43

I would love Jay to win! He probably wont though.
Kurri, i agree about Peter A, i used to like him but from what ive read and heard i do think he is just false and they way he has to have ' the last word ' just infuriating. I know its irrational, i have never met him etc, but i press mute button when he starts. If i see him, or Katie price on a magazine in the shops i have an urge to draw glasses and fill,in their teeth. I never do but it gives me rage seeing either of them anywhere ( although i can tolerate her more, at least she seems to have a sense of humour)
I knew he would stay, Jamelia has been in the dance off before. Its usually the way it goes, even though she was miles better at a difficult dance. It will come out one day about the fixing i am sure of it! ..

ppeatfruit · 23/11/2015 16:26

OMG I wondered what you'd all say about that disgusting fix Grin. I feel sorry for Janette it's obvious that she can't find anything nice to say about NPP. He has always danced with flat feet, he can't dance actually. I was wishing that Helen was in the DO then the judges would've been gutted !

To be fair PA seemed upset for Jam. I think he was apologising to her at the end, maybe he isn't in on the 'fix'. Though she's probably pleased to be out of it.

Ref. to Take That they were terrible, singing, well miming badly,to a song that's a direct lift from a Pet Shop Boys' sound.

emotionsecho · 23/11/2015 16:45

Kurri I'm going to have to look up that Jan Ravens incident, I've watched SCD pretty religiously and seem to have forgotten that!

I remember a couple of series ago one of the judges saved someone on the basis of their overall performance over the contest and not on the basis of the dance they performed in the dance off and there was an almighty hoo-ha. It was then stressed that it must be on the basis of the dance in the dance off only which is what they used to justify the exit of Pixie Lott last year, now they appear to have flip-flopped again in keeping PA in who danced something that couldn't qualify as a Jive by any stretch of the imagination, they need to own up to it and be straight with the public. Stick to the rules and be consistent or get rid of the dance off and just let the public decide as they used to.

It was so obvious before the DO that Jamelia was going to lose by what the judges, in particular Craig, said to her - it screamed foregone conclusion.

AnyoneButAndre · 23/11/2015 16:46

I'm pretty sure the judges see the dress rehearsal so they're in a position to pretty much decide what they're going to score in advance, and of course pre-prepare their bloody awful puns/alliterations/overstretched metaphors.

Whether there is a Production meeting to suggest to them that certain scores might be helpful / unhelpful? who can say?

In particular, it makes a huge difference to the dance-off calculations whether there's ties on the board or not. If TPTB want a duffer out then they're best advised to tell the judges to avoid ties. If they'd prefer a Shock Boot then loads of ties at the top are the best way to achieve that.

feckityfeck · 23/11/2015 16:50

PA is so in on the fix. He was practically apologising to Jamelia before the dance off. He knew he wasn't going anywhere, and said he 'felt bad' about being in the dance of with her, because he wanted her to do well. Not the words of someone who believes his place was at risk.

Either in on the fix, or ridiculously arrogant. Either way, yuck.

GruntledOne · 23/11/2015 16:50

I don't get the perception that people like to watch NPP, I usually regard his section as time to go and make tea: even when he's dancing well he's just not very watchable. By contrast, I didn't particularly like Georgia but loved her Charleston and have re-watched it on YouTube more than once.

KurriKurri · 23/11/2015 17:12

emotionsecho - there are a couple of references to it in this discussion on Digital Spy at the time Jan Ravens - the Ego had landed

It has become a family joke between me and DD now - someone eats the last jaffa cake or something and the other one sweeps out of the room shouting 'I hope you're happy now' Grin

GlitteryRollers · 23/11/2015 17:26

Out of interest, what does the NP stand for?

fussychica · 23/11/2015 17:28

No pants - do keep upGrin

emotionsecho · 23/11/2015 18:00

Thanks Kurri I've just had a look and my flabber is truly ghasted - how did I miss/forget about thatGrin.

emotionsecho · 23/11/2015 18:02

Anyone I think the 'tie' issue was addressed after the infamous 'You will all be in the Final" affairGrin. I've noticed that in the latter stages of the competition and particularly the semi-finals there are no ties.

AvengingGerbil · 23/11/2015 18:36

Anyone watching Jamelia and Tristan on ITT?

AnyoneButAndre · 23/11/2015 18:36

I can't believe she went there! Tristan's face!

(ITT)

LIZS · 23/11/2015 18:37

What did they mean on ITT about rerecording PA's standing ovation?

AvengingGerbil · 23/11/2015 18:38

There wasn't one so the producers apparently filmed a 'compulsory' SO to show on Sunday to justify the result.

AnyoneButAndre · 23/11/2015 18:39

The audience didn't give him an ovation in the dance off so the producers came in and insisted that they do one that they could edit in later. Revealed on the DS Spoiler thread.

Elendon · 23/11/2015 18:40

Glittery with thanks to emotionsecho for the explanation.

NPP - No Pants Peter, he said he didn't wear pants under his costumes on SCD however, he apparently now has added pants due to an embarrassing ball drop in wardrobe.

ChoccyJules · 23/11/2015 18:41

Ooh yes, Jamelia just said she knew she was going out when they rerecorded Pete's standing ovation - very telling. Zoe just skipped over it. Tristan said their dance at its best was better than Peter's at its best, so they clearly both felt something dodgy was afoot.

And does Helen get overmarked due to Call the Midwifey ties, they were on the Children in Need special, yes? Odd marking she gets despite the rictus grin.

JuanPotatoTwo · 23/11/2015 18:46

That was, um, brave of her to mention that. She'll not be asked back in a hurry will she?

AnyoneButAndre · 23/11/2015 18:48

I notice they didn't include famous superfan Marian Keyes' tweet from the weekend like they usually do.

mobile.twitter.com/MarianKeyes/status/668520529750544387

Elendon · 23/11/2015 18:48

I always thought that once you get to Blackpool you are in the SCD national show. Or has that stopped now?

GruntledOne · 23/11/2015 18:48

Good for Jamelia! My opinion of her has just shot up!

GruntledOne · 23/11/2015 18:49

Hmmm, I suspect Marian Keyes isn't going to be invited back onto ITT any time soon.

I'll be fascinated to see if Jamelia's remark survives into the iPlayer version of ITT.
