It reminded me of when Brody was in Venezuela in that weird building. That was all a bit odd too.

Toraleistripe · 16/11/2015 07:11

Fell asleep and missed the last 15 mins! How coincidental that Quinn ends up being found by some Jihadi plotters!

Who is Dr Tony?

How did Saul change his mind?

I am lost!

AmberFool · 16/11/2015 07:31

Quinn being found by Dr Tony who is the maintenance guy at a building full of Jihadi plotters = lazy writing. What a coincidence that the blood matched. Hmm Well, Dr Tony is a better doctor than a maintenance guy - did you see the state of the building?

Yes to harking back to Brody's building in S America.

Saul realised he was being followed. He may not like Carrie but he still trusts her instincts.

Did Hair actually hear any of the Dar and Saul conversation?

GypsyFl0ss · 16/11/2015 08:24

I think she heard Saul mention "Russians". I wonder if she'll have the balls to have him bumped off.

Yes to the South America thing, I got that too. I was pretty amazed at how well Quinn could fight given how unwell he had been but I had also lost track of the passage of time so maybe he was there for ages recovering.

Lweji · 16/11/2015 08:34

Quinn is obviously trained in Krav Maga and knows how to use the opponent's strength against him, which he did. One swift blow to break the trachea.
I suppose he could have been saved by Dr Tony, but I don't think his supporters actually wanted to blow themselves up when reality lurked. Btw, I wonder if they were plotting something like what happened in Paris. Sad

Fiderer · 16/11/2015 08:40

Hair annoys me. Carrie annoys me. Trembling voice crap.

Dar is the Director of the fucking CIA & Saul the European director and they get eavesdropped on by Hair the Russian double agent in the Berlin station. Quinn gets saved by a jihadi-hosting doctor.

OK. Only believable thing was the PostIts because that was realistic

On a domestic note, I was writing a shopping list with my d and she said tomatoes. I replied I always buy them so I could shorten it to "abt" i.e. "always buy tomatoes". Then I said I could do the same for cucumber which s2 eats by the tonne. She said "Then write abc" Grin and I said "No, I'll just write Q".

Lweji · 16/11/2015 08:59

Fiderer
That would be an interesting shopping list for a MNetter to find. :)

Fiderer · 16/11/2015 09:11

Grin Imagine the deciphering and subsequent disappointment.

"Oh, bit of salad stuff. Sad"

SurlyCue · 16/11/2015 09:19

Well, Dr Tony is a better doctor than a maintenance guy - did you see the state of the building?

Grin

fiderer that is a brilliant code for shopping!

Glad i'm not the only one disappointed with the lazy writing. The brody in south america hadnt even occurred to me last night but i totally see it now. That is really lazy. Not impressed. And yes to Quinn suddenly having the ability to fight back against rude plotting man. Hmm

TheSpottedZebra · 16/11/2015 09:40

I thought Quinn slit bad man's throat? Didn't we see him bleeding on the floor? Not sure where he got the knife from though - just another lucky coincidence I guess.

Agree that the episode was a bit not the best. But I still love it of course. It was very very tense and uncomfortable. I guess it was about losing hope, then finding it again? So Quinn was ready to die until he was redeemed by creeping Dr Tony, who literally gave him blood (hello JudeoChristian motif), and also gave him back his fighting spirit. I suspect that next week Quinn will be back in the fold as he will have to tell the CIA that he stumbled across some more terrorists. But we he tell Carrie/Saul, or Dar/Hair ?

LOVING AtiaoftheJuliis comment that Hair was being a bit wishy-washy (no more nails!) Genius. Grin

SurlyCue · 16/11/2015 09:45

Initially i thought quinn had done some sort of neck karate chop but then saw all the blood and thought knife too. The guy sliced quinn with a knife and quinn did have the guy's hand twisted back at one point so maybe he got the knife off him then?

Grin @ no more nails!

MarieJeanne · 16/11/2015 12:21

I thought it highly amusing when they were having the station checked for sophisticated listening devices and Hair was just standing outside the door eavesdropping on Dar and Saul's convo, very unprofessional.

TheSpottedZebra · 16/11/2015 13:41

Oh gosh have suddenly had a pang that he title might be seen as exclusionary? Obvs I don't care where anyone is from, they are all welcome on this thread as long as they LOVE HOMELAND, don't post spoilers agree that Saul is good and want to talk about salad vegetables.

Am I right in thinking Saul is now toast? Downloading classified documents he didn't have clearance for, via someone else's computer & passing that to someone else also not cleared to get said info, is seen as some sort of treason is it not?

Am I also right in thinking that Quinn might just have found his Syrian 'army' i.e. Dr Tony & his friends? If they stood back & let him kill the released prisoner, & he stays another day, will he think he can reason with these people to go back & fight the 'good' fight with him? I can't remember exactly what he said but the meeting he attended to give the big wigs an idea as to what they are dealing with & how difficult it is to get a grip on things in Syria, did he say something about how to deal with it i.e. boots in Syria? I might be wrong or am imagining that but there was something about his out burst there that I think is significant to that storyline.

SurlyCue · 16/11/2015 15:27

Yes when asked what was needed to sort out syria he said they needed (lots of) boots on the ground and they responded that that wouldnt be possible so then he said the only alternative was to hit the reset button. Which i took to mean "blow the place off the the map"

Not sure if a handful of men (who didnt intervene in a knife attack) and a doctor/building manager would be much good to him in syria though. Grin

ingeniousidiot · 16/11/2015 16:18

I think I need to rewatch last night's - nothing much seemed to happen, maybe I just missed it?

Hassled · 16/11/2015 16:22

Carrie's meds are worrying me. Jonas forced some down her moments before she legged it into the woods to shoot Quinn - we are now many days later (I think, although when does she sleep? The only yardstick we have for the passage of time is watching Quinn's wound heal and his bottle of piss fill) and there is no indication she has her meds with her. But then she's not doing the bipolar thing so I'm baffled.

AmberFool · 16/11/2015 17:07

She must have had meds in her "flight" bag, along with the dodgy wig.

TensionWheelsCoolHeels · 16/11/2015 17:16

There was a pile of lithium in her getaway bag.

Hassled · 16/11/2015 20:01

Ah now I'd forgotten about the well-stacked getaway bag.

My next question - did it look to anyone else that the released Syrian prisoners being given their belongings as they left prison were being handed bags of gold glitter? Were they planning the mother of all Christmas craft activities or am I again missing something blindingly obvious?

Qwertybynature · 16/11/2015 20:12

I thought that hassled although I thought the guy that has now been killed by Quinn was handed a big bag of what appeared to be drugs Confused

AmberFool · 16/11/2015 20:16

There was something else in last night's episode that I wanted to ask about but for the life of me, I can't remember what it is. Confused

SurlyCue · 16/11/2015 20:20

Yes i wondered at all the gold too. Was it jewellery?

AmberFool · 16/11/2015 20:22

Oh yes, I remember now. How did they know Quinn was a spy (Tosser bloke was right)? Because he was American and had a bullet wound? And why did Quinn admit to knowing Arabic? Surely, he should have just pretended to not understand?

TheSpottedZebra · 16/11/2015 20:23

I missed the gold glitter. I'd be a crap spy.

That, or I've spent too much time with young kids and now don't see 'craft mess' at all.
