Will this do?

OP posts:

I thought Scott ignoring Sam at the end was off too. No matter how awful it is in the boardroom, they always have a hug/handshake when they come out.

I did really warm to Joseph at first, but starting to like him. He just gets on with it and not petty like some of the others.

Sorry to say the ladies are pretty bad this year. Wouldn't be able to choose any one of those left.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 19/11/2015 12:06

I've just caught up on. I liked Vanna at the beginning but I've gone off her. She was too quick to align herself with Brett and he's a tosser. I think Scott genuinely thought Brett had threatened him because Brett was in his face and being aggressive. But it was a poor show that Scott ignored Sam at the end.

Is it wrong that I can't wait to see how they managed to poison someone? I'm currently organising a party and am now thinking no matter how bad it goes, as long as I don't send anyone to hospital on national TV, it can be deemed a success Grin

Dillite2 · 19/11/2015 12:16

On a side note- in Latvian Vanna means bath. So whenever her name is said I snigger. Childish, I know.

Dillite2 · 19/11/2015 12:18

Brett never said he will smash Scott's face in, but he did say "or else", so I guess you could read it that way if you wanted to.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 19/11/2015 12:39

I guess you could read it that way if you wanted to.
Yeah, he definitely didn't say it but Scott looked genuinely surprised when everyone told him Brett hadn't threatened to smash his face in.

I think the editing has been much more vicious this year eg when it showed Charleine being a bitch about Richard and Selina doing her wee dance because her and Sam had sold stuff. I don't think they would have shown either of those in the past.

SheHasAWildHeart · 19/11/2015 12:47

If Simon genuinely believed that Brett to physically harm him he would have raised it with the producers not to go home with Brett and say nothing all day until he got into the boardroom.
And good manners don't harm anyone. And ignoring Sam is like ignoring a lost puppy.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 19/11/2015 12:53

I think he thought Brett threatened him - that's different from thinking he was going to physically hurt him at that time. And I think they glossed over how aggressive Brett was being because they couldn't acknowledge a threat of violence and let him stay in the programme although apparently Selina pushed Charliene and they let her remain so who knows?

Again, maybe it was an editing issue but it didn't sound as though Scott had been particularly arsey when he asked Brett to move the irons or whatever it was that caused Brett to tell him not to talk to him like that.

In my earlier post, I said it was poor that Scott ignored Sam so I completely agree on your manners point.

GruntledOne · 19/11/2015 14:06

I liked Scott previously, but I strongly disliked all his passive aggressive stuff with potential customers - e.g stuff along the lines of "Would you like to visit our shop, oh, that's right, feel free to ignore me". Apart from being rude, he didn't seem to realise that it would put off everyone else within earshot and actually deter potential customers.

SheHasAWildHeart · 19/11/2015 15:20

I know it's a TV show so not really reflective of real life but if I went into a store and staff behaved like that, I'd leave. "Towels for £6. no? Ok £4. I can do you a deal for £3...." whilst following me out.
The other thing I did wonder too was if you bought an iron from them, went home, opened the box and it was faulty, what then? You can't take it back to the shop.

JAPAB · 19/11/2015 17:06

I suspect they would be in the same position as anyone who bought from a company that then went bust or otherwise ceased trading.

I like the fact that they all appear to be under instructions not to explicitly acknowledge that they are on a television show. It is always 'this process' or 'this boardroom' when referring to the show or anything that has happened on it, and I don't remember anyone ever saying 'the apprentice'.

sheldonesque · 20/11/2015 03:01

I thought Scott was an arse blanking Sam after the boardroom. Astoundingly bad manners.

Talking of bad manners - Lady Brady saying to Romesh - 'it is Alan to me - it is LORD SUGAR to you'. Even if she said it in jest, I found it bloody rude.

Up your own arse much dear?

GruntledOne · 20/11/2015 09:58

But she was very obviously joking, so I don't think it was rude in the least.

SheHasAWildHeart · 20/11/2015 11:32

I know that the show hasn't been as interesting as previous years, and I don't think the You're Fired programme is helping, it's dire. I love Jack Dee and he's great in the Josh sitcom, but this really isn't the show for him. Wish Matt Edmondson was presenting instead, he's a real geek about the show and can handle the mix of silly humour and business chat.
I want Richard to win purely to wind Charleine and Selina up! (I am well jealous how amazing Charleine's hair always looks!!)

I only remember the PM Gary from when he bought the dingy boat from a toy shop.
The only ones that stand out (probably for the wrong reasons) are
Richard - David Brent
Brett - exNavy I think, like a robot with a monotone voice, talks about specifications
Charlene - has amazing hair, hates Richard, and is slightly eccentric
Selina - something about her reminds me of 101 Dalmatians, always moaning, and has been sl*gging off the show

CFSsucks · 24/11/2015 20:50

I'm seeing Dara on Saturday. Grin Cannot wait!

SheHasAWildHeart · 24/11/2015 21:06

I would recommend reading monkseal's blog. His commentary on the shows is hilarious.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 25/11/2015 21:06

Sorry if this has already been asked, but why do they not wear their seatbelts properly in the cars?

lorelei9 · 25/11/2015 21:08

Ooh I love the bar at the Charlotte Street Hotel! Next time I'm going to ask the staff if they met any of them. Grin

BYOSnowman · 25/11/2015 21:09
