Will this do?

Why do they get them to do market research after they have finalised the website/advertising/packaging?
This programme, sorry process, shows you how little thought/care goes into some of the products out there. It has put me off ever buying anything from a stall in a shopping centre.

I can't find your fired on catch up!!

Sprinklelights · 21/12/2015 14:26

unimaginative They've joined the 'final apprentice' show with 'your fired'. So watch the final apprentice and you should see the your fired straight after.

unimaginativename13 · 21/12/2015 14:44

Ahh I watched that last night! Didn't realise that's what happened.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 21/12/2015 16:46

Hurrah for Joseph! I'm glad he won (I've only just watched it on catch-up). I thought it was funny that Vanna was trying to take the moral high ground ie 'My app will have global influence. Joseph just wants to make money.' I think helping people to have hot water and heating is a slightly more noble pursuit than adding another dating/gaming app to the market Grin

It was like a clunky attempt at psychology ie 'my app might look as though it is going to cost Lord Sugar money rather than make him money so let me equate making money with being bad and ignoble'.

And who is going to be able to play games all day to reveal the photo? Can you imagine people at work gaming all day on the dating app?

penguinsarecool · 22/12/2015 01:32

Managed to avoid all spoilers and watched it tonight. Glad he won. His company has a better chance of suceeding than Vana's which is clearly an expensive gamble and will most probably be a quick fad before everyone moves onto the next dating app.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 22/12/2015 08:31

Give it a few months and one of the big dating agencies will trial a 'play-date' approach . . . or one of the big gaming companies but it will be tacky, cheesy and fun all the things that Vanna didn't want in her ad and you'll only have to play for an hour at most.

tbh at the beginning I thought I understood Vanna's idea but the more it went on, the more confused I became. When she first described it, I thought you'd already been matched with someone but hadn't seen them so you both played against each other in a game and could IM/chat to each other as you played then at the end the photos were revealed. After her industry pitch, I thought the games were just psychometric testing, you played them on your own and then at the end it decided who to match you with and revealed their pic.If it's the latter then is the implication that the more games you play, the better the testing and the better the match? Or is it that after playing for a day, your profile is complete and it just goes on to match you with people?

All we know is that someone with a PhD has written some kind of algorithm, iiuc.

Yeah right.
