Will this do?

OP posts:
sadwidow28 · 20/12/2015 21:11

I am off .... Jack Dee just made the introduction (9.10pm)

Bear with me if I comment out of sync!

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 20/12/2015 21:16

It did start late. Around 10 past, I think.

Here we go, then.

Joseph has the bigger ambition, I think, and is possibly more deserving. Vana seems the safer bet. I think he'll go with her, unless she really screws this up.

SuffolkNWhat · 20/12/2015 21:17

I want Joseph to win but I feel it's going to go to Vana

sadwidow28 · 20/12/2015 21:23

Teams are:

(Vana won the coin toss call - but lost to Joe, so Joe chooses first)

Joe: Gary, Brett, Elle, Mergim.

Vana: Richard, Charlene, Ruth, Natalie.

"Natalie, I wanted you anyway"

BYOSnowman · 20/12/2015 21:24

Vana is the bigger risk but bigger potential return

Joseph is a safe bet but I don't think he's going to have a very good thing to present

ENTirelyTrimmedUpForChristmas · 20/12/2015 21:24

Yes SPOTY over ran slightly but I wanted to give the heads up ahead of time rather than when it'd already started Smile

sadwidow28 · 20/12/2015 21:25

Vana has to prove that there is a market for gaming/dating

Joe has to prove he can grow a 'small-time business'

user7755 · 20/12/2015 21:26

So we don't want fun in the branding for a game app and it has to be a man and a woman in the advert for a dating app. Is it just me?

lorelei9 · 20/12/2015 21:27

Was on phone
Switched on at a point with a duck and lighter and wondered whose business was going to be called "ducks on fire"

sadwidow28 · 20/12/2015 21:29

ENTirelyTrimmedUpForChristmas

I have already thanked you for the heads up - I had forgotten. (Still wrapping Christmas presents!)

I nipped to the shop for Chardonnay Wine WineWineWineWine - so please help yourselves.

I was given some caviar as a Christmas gift yesterday and I don't like it! I'll pop it on our Apprentice Watching table in case anyone else does.

ENTirelyTrimmedUpForChristmas · 20/12/2015 21:30

Joseph's team don't seem to be on his side.

Vana's ideas so far look dated, cheesy and dare I say sleazy. A lot of online daters would be imagining something quite different from Date-Play,

Vana strikes me as one of those people who talks the talk and keeps on talking the talk, raising funds and not actually turning a profit anywhere.

sadwidow28 · 20/12/2015 21:33

Joe is going for renewable technology (including solar panels). I could tell you stories about the cottage I hired in NE when it went 'solar panels' on a gov grant ................. no hot water for showers or washing up.

ENTirelyTrimmedUpForChristmas · 20/12/2015 21:36

I'm sure I read that the payback from solar panels is going to be cut in half from February?

SW I saw you Smile was just bumping the thread for any other watchers and didn't want you to think you were actually out of sync, or at least, not by much at all.

Vana didn't even research how much the app would cost to develop (think the figure she's been given is way out) or to market it?
It must be the way they're showing this, because it seems so half arsed let alone for a final.

user7755 · 20/12/2015 21:38

Was there a reason why she didn't go for play-date? It's actually a phrase that is in common parlance and it states things in the order they are actually going to happen.

Date-play sounds like an escort service for people who want their dates to dress up as a nurse, or dress them as a baby and change their nappy.

sadwidow28 · 20/12/2015 21:38

No probs ENtertainment - I recognised your new festive clothes. (I am not a name-changer since the year I joined..... but I love watching everyone dressing up in sparkles!)

handsoffmecrownjules · 20/12/2015 21:40

Hi everyone....oh lordy...Ruth and Natalie.....do you think they brought back the worst of the worst just to trip them up??

sadwidow28 · 20/12/2015 21:42

I am now allowed to say that Natalie (dating team) has a voice and presentation that really grates on me?

BYOSnowman · 20/12/2015 21:44

I would hate to work for vana!!!

sadwidow28 · 20/12/2015 21:46

Joe's advert has confirmed what we (consumers) all thought - the 'real' people are no more than paid actors!

Joe - YOU ARE FIRED FOR DISHONESTY!

BYOSnowman · 20/12/2015 21:47

Ha - too true!!

Although I would never pick a plumber based on a tv ad

ENTirelyTrimmedUpForChristmas · 20/12/2015 21:48

Vana's idea is going to have huge ongoing costs with no guarantee of revenue unless advertisers bought into it big time. It's a very very long term gamble.

ENTirelyTrimmedUpForChristmas · 20/12/2015 21:48

Success in a gaming app also doesn't guarantee that the people would hit it off at all when they meet up.

Roussette · 20/12/2015 21:49

Oh dear! Someone started a 'Finals' thread in chat and I've been over there talking to myself

AFingerofFudge · 20/12/2015 21:49

I like Vana's dress

BYOSnowman · 20/12/2015 21:52

I like Joseph
