Just seen that the first "celebs" have arrived in Australia. Kieron Dyer and Jorgie Porter apparently. Isn't she the one who was on Celeb First Dates recently?

Series starts a week today!

I read somewhere that Kieron is donating all of his fee for appearing on the show to a neo natal charity, which his family have supported since his brother died at birth (when KD was 7).

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/11/2015 17:48

Thanks sad always a mine of useful info - i discovered that in unforgotten :)

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/11/2015 17:49

That's lovely Leeds

findingmyfeet12 · 26/11/2015 17:49

Chris has surprised me. I always thought he was a bit of a fool with the dressing up etc. He seems like a genuinely nice man and very thoughtful and insightful.

clam · 26/11/2015 18:06

Yes, I too am surprised by Chris. Always though he was a prat, but he seems to be coming across differently.

I too heard that about Kieron. And also Duncan is donating his fee too. Mind you, he might have to re-think that when he gets hit with his fraud lawsuit!

sadwidow28 · 26/11/2015 18:43

Calling AnneEyhtMeyer - we will probably need thread #2 tonight.

We are a chatty lot on here. I would hate to run out of posts in the middle of the live programme. Grin

Jakana · 26/11/2015 18:48

Jamaica vs England.

Leeds2 · 26/11/2015 18:49

I think tonight will be interesting, if Lady C does indeed refuse to do the trial. I bet Chris tries to talk her round, although doubt he will succeed!

Chris has surprised me too. I thought he would be a complete buffoon, but I think he comes across very well. Kieron comes across to me as thoroughly decent too, which I hadn't expected as I didn't rate him as a footballer! Hope George gets more of a presence now that he is Deputy Leader.

So far, don't like Tony, Duncan and Yvette.

MrsJayy · 26/11/2015 18:50

Hi im a bit late to the jungle but marking my place for later, i cant work out lady c at all there must be more to the feud than itv is showing they are all against her . I love Vicky thought i would hate her she makes me laugh and im really liking kieron he is lovely

Jakana · 26/11/2015 18:51

Vicky- is that what a Chav is?

MrsJayy · 26/11/2015 18:52

Oh Chris is suprising me thought he would be a complete tool.

clam · 26/11/2015 18:56

Jakana Hmm

sadwidow28 · 26/11/2015 18:59

Vicky annoys me with the stereotype Geordie way-ay thing

Well thank you for bring that up BeckerLleytonNever

I am from the NE (slightly further south than Geordie land) - think Tees and not Tyne. But our family has married genuine Geordies. I love to hear Vicky's accent and lilt, but she is actually using words inappropriately.

It is almost like she has entered the jungle with 'Geordie' being her winning feature and has learned lots of phrases to say in a speech. Unfortunately, she uses some phrases out of context and conjugates her words in non-Geordie speech dialect. That grates on me to be honest because it is clearly a device for 'winning'.

Jakana · 26/11/2015 19:05

clam- I honestly don't know what a Chav is- that's why I'm asking.

sadwidow28 · 26/11/2015 19:07

I think I have found the articles about Kieron and Duncan donating their fees:

I’m A Celebrity’s Kieron Dyer Is Donating His Fee To Stillborn Charity - Heartbreaking

I'm A Celebrity star Duncan Bannatyne set to donate whopping fee to charity following Kieron Dyer

clam · 26/11/2015 19:10

Well, it's not a nice term to describe anyone, so no, Vicky is NOT what a chav is. She's showing herself to be pleasant, good-natured and gutsy and from where I'm sitting, in in with a good chance of winning.

Sansoora · 26/11/2015 19:15

Grin Am just catching up on last nights shenanigans Grin

And on a different note - Sadwidow would you consider changing your name? I understand what lies behind it but how about something else? xxxxxx

MrsJayy · 26/11/2015 19:17

No she isnt a chav

NoArmaniNoPunani · 26/11/2015 19:19

I still like Lady C.

sadwidow28 · 26/11/2015 19:19

Blondeshavemorefun

Thank you about asking about me. Yes, I joined Widowed and Young (WAY) in 2001 when I first lost DH when I was 46 yrs old. It didn't suit me because I had already decided that I had lost the love of my life and wouldn't seek another partner. WAY is about moving on to new partnerships which I understand is the best way forward for some.

I still wear my wedding ring, engagement ring and eternity ring after 14 years. I also wear DH's wedding ring on a chain around my neck. I really am happy and not sad.

My user name was chosen when my younger brother died in 2005 (he lived with me for 2 years after DH died) and I hadn't finished grieving for DH before I was hit with another sudden bereavement. That's when I joined Mumsnet for support and my user name reflected what I felt at that time.

I would be happy to change my user name now - but I am more than comfortable being referred to as SW, sad, Widow, sadwidow because that name is just an ID that I am recognised by.

I am too frightened to change my user name in case I lose my Mumsnet friends. So many of you have got me through so many dark times.

Shall I change to contendedwidow ?

sadwidow28 · 26/11/2015 19:23

Sansoora

I am happy to change my name now - suggestions welcome. But you have to all be able to find me. If I lost you all I would cry!

Sansoora · 26/11/2015 19:40

SW, in my separated state I like to say Im 'quietly happy' because thats what I am and to be honest I never did get the yelling it from the rooftops way of doing things. So 'contentedwidow' is a good suggestion but if you wanted to also consider 'quietlyhappywidow' it would be ok. Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/11/2015 19:53

I wouldn't say way is for moving on to new partnerships but some Meet new partners - tho maybe it was 10yrs ago - but more for support and friendship and being able to say go out for a meal/ drinks with others who understand and esp those with children (sadly dh and I didn't have kids tho ttc for many years) and doing meets etc

Tho I think for some on way seeing that someone has met a new partner gives them hope that maybe they will as well

and so sorry about your db as well. Grief is horrible and my mum died couple years after dh and knocked me for six :(

Sorry for the hijack and have your name as whatever you want it - quite happy to call you SW :) Flowers

AnneEyhtMeyer · 26/11/2015 19:54
