Just seen that the first "celebs" have arrived in Australia. Kieron Dyer and Jorgie Porter apparently. Isn't she the one who was on Celeb First Dates recently?

Series starts a week today!

I wonder just how wealthy, will this 10 million fraud bill skint him?

I thing there have been financial issues for quite some time now if google us anything to go by and this alleged fraud is a result of them.

BastardGoDarkly · 26/11/2015 10:09

Yes, and he's just been stung in his divorce hasn't he? Maybe he's in there as he really needs the money.

sadwidow28 · 26/11/2015 11:06

On This Morning I am amazed at how Christopher Biggins and Holly are defending Lady C. "She is marvellous"; "she was provoked"; "the others were rude to her"; "she makes everyone laugh".

Lady C's son is on the phone. "When she says something, she means it. Everyone attacked her - and she won't let anything pass. She can manage herself on her own, she doesn't need Chris or anyone else to defend her. She is now in a position of power in the camp as she is refusing to do the task. She won't walk out. She is not the losing sort."

I am becoming more and more convinced that ITV use their other TV programmes to sway public opinion about the camp mates.

clam · 26/11/2015 11:26

"those eels didn't look happy."

What do happy eels look like? Grin

clam · 26/11/2015 11:34

I've seen a lot of people accuse "the 9" of bullying. I just don't see it. If Lady C thinks she's being ostracised, then she really needs to examine her own behaviour. People are, not unreasonably, reacting to her by backing away. That Yvette, for instance, who has so far come across as being very pleasant and laid back, should lose her rag so vehemently last night, is an indicator of how frustrating Lady C has been. She really crossed a line by calling Yvette a bitch.

clam · 26/11/2015 11:36

She's very outspoken and that's fine, but you have to accept that that will alienate people. Why should they sit back and let it pass? Those who've challenged her are now being accused of attacking her. That's not how I've see it. You dish it out, you need to be able to take it.

ENtertainmentAppreciated · 26/11/2015 12:23

I wonder what comments are being made by others that we don't get to see because of clever editing

Lady C is being made into a pantomime villain. She probably is a nightmare but editing has also played its part

I totally agree and also agree that the channel's swaying opinion via its other shows, however, that really isn't anything new for big commercial TV reality series.

I'd be soooo interested to be a fly on the wall and see the unedited footage for this particular series.
Some people have surprised me for the good and some very much not for the good.

I'd normally say if so many people hold a single opinion then common sense dictates it's well founded, but in situations like this, of some deprivation, reliance on others and no contact with the outside world, then I think different rules can come into play.

It really interests me that out of all the campmates it's Kieron, Chris and Vicky who actually look deeper to understand Lady C and therefore seem to get along better with her, or, certainly be less irritated.

I like seeing an older woman refuse to be defeated by a hostile majority and I don't draw any comparisons with Duncan who has years of both business and TV experience behind him.

All that's meant purely as observations of the show of course, not who I'd necessarily warm to myself if I had to keep their company Grin

sadwidow28 · 26/11/2015 12:30

I'd be soooo interested to be a fly on the wall and see the unedited footage for this particular series.

Yesterday, on This Morning, Rylan said that he had been watching the live streaming until the early hours of the morning (until about 4am our time) as he has to be prepared to present his slot by 12.15pm on the show. He actually said that the row went on for hours, and hours and hours and the producers had to step in. (Of course we didn't see that bit). But he did admit that even he felt very uncomfortable watching some of the scenes. He isn't a fan of Lady C's now but admits that she makes 'good TV'.

I just dislike having an acid-tongued woman in my lounge each night. And I know I have an OFF button on the TV. Yvette actually spoke for me last night: "Shut up Lady C!"

findingmyfeet12 · 26/11/2015 13:01

I can't remember how the two campmates justified not doing the hotel servant jobs.

On reflection, I think Chris (who is coming across extremely well), Lady C and Keiron have a reason to be annoyed about that. it's part of the game and they showed bad sportsmanship to refuse point blank. Having the support of the Reston the camp did come across as bullying.

sadwidow28 · 26/11/2015 13:32

They didn't justify it as such - but everyone agreed that it was Part 2 of the humiliation of Tony Hadley. He had asked for Lady C and Chris to be in his team and he was 'blown out' by them.

He had to eventually form a team with Yvette and Susannah who were also 'blown out' by Chris Eubank.

They were all 'smarting' .

Lady C proposed Tony and Jorgie ideas and then manipulated Kieron and Chris. It was Kieron who tried to find a jutsification and kindness in their nomination as bell boy and chamber maid - by saying they had always compalined about not having enough to do. But then when Lady C reported to the camp, she 'blamed' Chris and Kieron for the selection of Tony and Jorgie.

Also, although I am not into gender-specific roles, Lady C wanted Tony to be the CHAMBER MAID. (And I do think that Lady C IS into gender-specific roles, as is Chris Eubank when he didn't want Lady C doing any heavy duties when there were men around.)

CFSsucks · 26/11/2015 13:46

Lady C went right down in my eyes. She was vile and called them all horrible names that were not justified. I'm not surprised Duncan acted the way he did. He's been fed up of her for a while and by the looks of it, been holding his tongue, clearly as Yvette has. I also think when he says she is no Lady it is because of her title and she regards herself as a Lady, I think Susannah and Yvette and probably even the younger ones are acting more ladylike than Lady Cand they don't have a poncy title that actually doesn't mean anything.

Ant and Dec won't be happy she isn't doing the trial. They ha e said before the trials take a lot of time and money to set up so it's frustrating when the celebrities turn up and point blank refuse to do it.

I didn't like the way Brian picked up the rats. I have pet rats and you are absolutely not to pick them up by their tails. I cringed everytime he did it. That was actually cruel.

Destinysdaughter · 26/11/2015 14:49

If someone refuses to do the trial why don't they just get the other person who had the most votes to do it? And the refuser doesn't get to share in the food? I also think if someone has done a trial the day before they should be exempt the next day otherwise it's so often just one person who just gets picked on.

findingmyfeet12 · 26/11/2015 14:50

If the rest of the camp got a second chance at a meal by letting someone else do the challenge then there would be full stomachs and no fighting - defeating the purpose of the show.

sadwidow28 · 26/11/2015 15:03

I agree with CFSsucks

I didn't like the way Brian picked up the rats. I have pet rats and you are absolutely not to pick them up by their tails. I cringed everytime he did it

I have never owned a rat, but have supported a Rat Sanctuary for years. Even I know that picking up a rat by its tail is simply cruel. I was feeling physically sick every time Brian did that. In fairness, Ant and Dec were trying to remind Brian that he should place a hand on the under-belly ..... but that was after the rat was picked up by its tail.

What would the outcry be if he had picked up a kitten by the tail rather than the scruff of the neck?

Dumbledoresgirl · 26/11/2015 15:15

Glad I wasn't the only one shouting at the screen every time Brian picked up a rat by its tail. It was almost harder to watch that than it is to watch them eating something disgusting.

All rat fanciers will have Brian in their sights now! Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/11/2015 15:40

destiny I kinda agree with you. It's annoying when Celebs refuse / tho maybe she will agree today

But also unfair /boring she keeps being voted - or so they say - they never show the figures (same as xf) we want to see how many voted

Are the bottom 2 a few votes difference or 100's/1000's

Anywhere we can see the voting figures?

I do think Tony and jorga should have done the request and tbh I don't blame lady c for refusing - tit for tat

if she does / tho also feel if they refuse they should lose a large chunk of their fee to charity

And yes Ferne may squeal but she tries

clam · 26/11/2015 16:09

I don't blame her for squealing during that underground water challenge. I felt myself hyperventilating in panic just watching her! She did brilliantly.

cardoon · 26/11/2015 16:17

I just wish she wasn't such a hypocrite - she accuses everyone else of the very things she is guilty of......having said that I think she is great value being so poisonous - I am amazed how much they expose of themselves

sadwidow28 · 26/11/2015 16:52

Blondes

I was reading about the fees the other day - quite enlightening.

It is alleged that Chris Eubank is being paid the most (£200,000). However, the Australian Gov takes 25% Tax because their Gov did a deal which insists that the fees are taxed at source of payment (Australia). That can be re-claimed with a lot of form-filling to prove that the celebrity's business is run from the UK and exchange of tax rate / expenses payments are appropriate.

That puts Duncan Bannatyne in a mess - he has 2 off-shore accounts!

But then the celebrity's Manager gets a 30% fee for securing the deal.

Most of the celebrities are trying to come out with a NEW career, so future payments are what they are after.

Tony Blackburn (King of the Jungle - series 1) is still being touted on This Morning.

Christopher Biggins (king of the Jungle - series 7) got pantomime out of winning. He is also a regular on ITV This Morning ever since.

Katy Price (Jordan) and Peter Andre shot into the Reality stakes with their own TV programmes when they "found love in the jungle".

Kerry Katona (Queen of the Jungle - series 3) 'blew' her resurrection - but managed to make an ITV2 reality series.

Joe Pasquale (King of the Jungle -series 4) has always admitted that he got a 2nd career out of IAC.

Carol Thatcher (Queen of the Jungle - series 5) was also offered another reality programme (How to be a London Cabbie). It was a well-deserved win IMO but she blew the TV opportunity by reverting to 'type' in her cabbie series. She showed herself to be an unlikeable person who put those who she considered beneath her 'down'. (A bit like Lady C is doing now)

I don't know what happened to Phil Tuffnell (King of the Jungle - series 2) after he won. Perhaps he was not media-savvy.

Matt Willis (King of the Jungle - series 6) started to build a presenting career, until his wife (Emma Willis) was preferred. Emma presents CBB House - she took over from Davina McCall and Rylan.

Joe Swash (King of the Jungle - series 8) is just the grubbiest IACGMOH winner that I have ever watched. But now he is the mainstay of the ITV2 follow-up programme. He thinks it is funny to kiss any unsuspecting man that comes into his path. But there is his career move....

I simply loved Gino D'Acampo (King of the Jungle - series 9) from his already established career as a cook on This Morning. But he nearly blew it when he caught, killed and cooked a rat and invited all his Snake Rock camp mates eat it. That was the first time that ITV admitted that all the critters used in the show are 'pets'. Gino D'Acampo faced cruelty charges for that.

Stacey Solomon (Queen of the Jungle - series 10) is still on our TV screens - but it is not about her X-factor singing career is it? She now participates as a commentator and is a guest on TV quiz shows.

So will:

  • Lady C get her new contract to play a pantomime villain (The Wicked Witch in Snow White)?
  • Chris Eubank play Dandini is Cinderella?
  • Duncan Bannatyne ever get back onto the Rich List after he lost £430m during his last divorce?
  • Vicky become Queen of the Jungle 2015?
findingmyfeet12 · 26/11/2015 16:53

It was pretty funny watching her accuse Brian of hogging the limelight after his trial - it's exactly what she did a couple of days ago.

clam · 26/11/2015 16:59

How can it possibly be acceptable in any way for her to call other camp-mates buffoons, runts, bitches and so forth? Is it any wonder the others are backing away.

findingmyfeet12 · 26/11/2015 17:00

I don't like the way they keep referring to her age as though she's 100 years old.

Is being 66 years of age enough of a reason to receive lenient treatment and tolerance in the face of insults? It all comes across as pretty ageist.

clam · 26/11/2015 17:15

Of course, one always has to be wary of making assumptions when the editing of these programmes can influence things heavily, but I think that they all appeared to treat Lady C with deference and respect. I think it was quite poignant when Jorgie said what she did last night about having admired and respected her and now feeling disappointed. She's a sweetie.

PirateSmile · 26/11/2015 17:26

Phil Tufnall was on the bones of his backside when he entered the jungle. He said as much himself and now, as a result o the show is a captain on A Question of Sport and is a presenter on The One Show. I think he also does something on talksport or 5live. He's done incredibly well out of his time on IACGMOOH.

BeckerLleytonNever · 26/11/2015 17:30

I hope the next time Tony is in a restaurant or shop they refuse to serve him.

this^^

agree, Lady C is doing herself what she accuses everyone else of doing. still feel sorry for her though, theres something very vulnerable about her but cant put my finger on it.

Georgie doesn't convince me one bit with her little miss innocent act. apparently shes been quite into steamy skimpy outfits in the shower! don't like her at all, find her very false and 'poor me, look at my ters'.

ATM liking Ferne, Chris, Kieron and George.

Hadleys vile, as is Duncan, Vicky annoys me with the stereotype Geordie way-ay thing. you don't see Duncan saying och-aye evry 5 mins!

Yvette, gone down in my estimation. susannas a bit wet, brian, gorgeous body, awful personality.

tony, that image of your bum in those black pants will be the stuff of nightmares for the rest of my days! ewwww.
