Thanks ppeat The Wiki tells me she's a "singer and media personality" So she'll be in the line-up next year Grin

Fiderer · 21/11/2015 09:53

x-post Grin I thought she looked like she just didn't want to commit either way but would love to say "Yes please!"

ppeatfruit · 21/11/2015 10:00

When asked by a member of the public who chose the music I think it was Janette who answered saying that they all decide on the music, because the show has to appeal to "All ages".

That is the key to the bits that we think are childish because they are MEANT to be !!!

I think there's enough enthusiasm for the dance to warrant 2 programmes!

ppeatfruit · 21/11/2015 10:05

Oh I just remembered that dd has a good friend who is an actress\model and is married to a famous fella they have been asked to go on SCD but refused because they value their marriage Grin.

Fiderer · 21/11/2015 10:06

Didn't think of that, grumpy old bat that I am, you're right that it's a family show.

Still would prefer more training VTs. Really enjoy Karen Hardy & Ian Waite on ITT because they explain stuff (tech term), just wish it wasn't so rushed.

ppeatfruit · 21/11/2015 10:10

Yes and that "Lens' Lens'"bit on Sunday is so ridiculously rushed it makes me stabby Grin

AnyoneButAndre · 21/11/2015 10:11

I liked ice cream cone man Blush. And I loved Gleb being baffled by "Cod, Haddock or Scampi?"

Fiderer · 21/11/2015 10:18

Monkseal calling it "Len's Glans" makes it almost unbearable to watch Grin

Cone man could get a new job in Doctor Who.

emotionsecho · 21/11/2015 10:31

ppeatfruit having the show appeal to a range of ages does not excuse the abysmal presenting done by Gethin and Hollins.

emotionsecho · 21/11/2015 10:35

ppeatfruit I think the BBC are looking for another Gabby and Kenny Logan turn.

ppeatfruit · 21/11/2015 11:23

You see I don't know who Gethin and Hollins are! Are they ex contestants on SCD?

Or Gabby and Kenny Logan Blush

ppeatfruit · 21/11/2015 11:24

I'm obviously out of the main stream Grin

FrancesOldhamKelsey · 21/11/2015 11:28

Hollins is a TV presenter who won several years ago despite being far from the best dancer. Gethin is an ex Blue Peter presenter who was extremely popular but knocked out (dubiously) in the semi finals the year Alesha won.

FrancesOldhamKelsey · 21/11/2015 11:30

Gabby and Kenny are sports presenter/rugby player spouses who competed in the same year. Gabby was a brilliant dancer who got knocked out early, Kenny was a joke act kept in for months and months.

ppeatfruit · 21/11/2015 11:31

Thanks Frances So they should be good presenters then? Maybe it was the director or script writers or whatever. Zoe should be there.

GruntledOne · 21/11/2015 11:51

I liked it on ITT when they used to get Len in to do a demonstration of how particular steps should go - it was particularly funny when he did it with Claudia. Ian Waite does it occasionally, but only if it's incidental to something he's saying about the dance rehearsals. They should bring it back as a regular spot and not waste time with stupid hoopla quizzes.

emotionsecho · 21/11/2015 12:40

Yes ppeatfruit Gethin Jones and Chris Hollins should be good presenters and I don't think it can be blamed on the script sadly it's just them.

ThursdayLastWeek · 21/11/2015 12:54

Werent Kenny and Gabby with James and Ola respectively?
I'm almost certain Kenny helped give birth to the Ola-Catsuit-Distract tactic.

ThursdayLastWeek · 21/11/2015 12:56

Gethin Jones is ex-blue Peter I think isn't he? Which is like the best presenter training known to man. And yet...

Chris Hollins won partly because of Distraction Ola too I reckon.

According to this article it is no longer appropriate to call hm NPP.

WARNING: Only the very strong of stomach should read the article and may subsequently need gallons of mind bleach.

LIZS · 21/11/2015 15:11

Anyone identify Zoe's dress from ITT last night? Black with sparkles.

ppeatfruit · 21/11/2015 16:24

Oh pleeeeese IthoughtATM don't even put the image in my mind. Shock Grin (sorry I won't link to the rubbish rags like the DM and S.)

emotion There would've been a director involved though, maybe he's a yoof who thinks that the handheld camera look is cool.

kinkytoes · 21/11/2015 16:24

Louise was in Eternal - girl band in the 90s, then had a solo career. You're all clearly a lot younger than me!

ppeatfruit · 21/11/2015 16:53

Come on folks get out your sticks of rock Strictly's in Blackpool tonight!!!!!!! Didn't you know????????

MrsJamin · 21/11/2015 18:16

I remember eternal, they were pretty good in their time! She'd be good on strictly. Louis was so down on NPP! :D I will be so surprised if jamelia doesn't go tonight. Looking forward to k+k's quick step, it looked good. I just hope Jay looks like he's enjoying the salsa, otherwise he'll get the same "no expression" comments. There's no excuse for not smiling if you're just dancing a fun party dance like the salsa.
