Oh dear was really looking forward to Katie and Anton .l love the quickstep.

Perhaps Jeremy's horsing around was a subtle hint that he wants to go home.I don't think he will though.

Would somebody please explain to me why it matters where the couples are in the running order. Is it because those in the middle may get forgotten by the voters?l'm not in the UK but would vote for my favourite whether they were on first last or fifth.

Oh dear - if this can be believed all is not well in the Strictly House. At least NPP managed to suppress the tears this time.

You couldn't make it up - oh wait

ThursdayLastWeek · 08/11/2015 13:56

I think it's just an impact thing -I have forgotten to vote for Anita this series, and another poster suggested it was because she's always mid-show.

Last is always the big money slot - suggests favouritism from the producers if one dancer gets it often IMO

I think the running order is important for those who are going to vote but who don't have such firm favourites so are more likely to remember those on at the end.

Though it pains me to admit it, NPP was very good. I did think he was out of sync a few times and there wasn't a lot of swivel but the energy and overall performance were great so I would have thought it was worth 8s and 9s. He was one of the few to have a VT which actually helped his performance. (I wonder when they're going to get Jay an acting coach? This really helped Matt Dawson when he was struggling to express himself. Loved Jay with straight hair.) The choreography was amazing, especially when you compare it to what poor old Kirsty had to do in her Charleston. I love how the first thing Claudia did was to praise Janette. Georgia was great and how fantastic was Giovanni! Someone mentioned on Digital Spy that Kellie always makes sure she's where the camera can see her in the Clauditorium and it's so true. One second Kristina was there, the next it was Kellie, as if she had just elbowed Kristina aside.

The Friday panel on ITT was great. Rufus Hound was on and said that Katie would be safe with Anton as it was a ballroom dance, something you couldn't necessarily say if you were dancing a Latin number Smile.

emotionsecho · 08/11/2015 14:40

Tenysmum yes Matt Dawson had the acting coach, I couldn't remember when I posted my earlier comment, and it did seem to help him. Although I thought Jay and Alionas AT dripped with sexual frisson, it was like watching something intimate you shouldn't be iyswim.

I've noticed how supportive Janette appears to be to all the celebrities, she is always clapping enthusiastically and congratulating them.

Someone earlier said Giovanni looked like he was made out of rubber and having watched the dance back I have to agreeGrin, I do like those two their personalities seem to just 'fit' with one another.

Tensmumym · 08/11/2015 14:41

For those who know more about dancing than me, can I ask where you stand on the criticism Aljaz got for his Rhumba choreo? Also, surely it would have helped Anita to point her toes more - as Ian is always saying on ITT - if she was wearing proper dance shoes and not trainers?

GruntledOne · 08/11/2015 14:53

I think what Rufus Hound said was that, when Anton is your partner, what happens when you do a Latin dance isn't entirely your responsibility. Nicely put, I thought.

emotionsecho · 08/11/2015 15:05

I'm wondering what Len wants to see in the Rumba that he didn't see in the ones done by Giovanni and Aljaz, I don't recall him saying anything about the content of NPPs rumba, did that have more of the content he was looking for? From a complete non dancer viewpoint I thought Aljaz put quite a lot of rumba steps into the choreography, but then I was watching Aljaz not Helen maybe Len was criticising the content Helen had to dance?

SheHasAWildHeart · 08/11/2015 16:45

One second Kristina was there, the next it was Kellie, as if she had just elbowed Kristina aside.

In one of the early episodes she physically elbowed Kristina out in the way and stood right in the middle, I remember that. Did she do it again yesterday?

Tensmumym · 08/11/2015 17:01

I didn't see Kristina being moved. One shot she was there, the next shot it was Kellie with Kristina just on the side. There's a great thread called "“Anyone notice what’s happening in the background or what’s said quietly?” on Digital Spy which points out this sort of thing.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 08/11/2015 17:18

Was that when Jamelia was talking to Claudia? I just looked at it and Kristina stepped back so that Kevin could usher Kellie in front of him.

JuanPotatoTwo · 08/11/2015 17:43

Just caught up with last night's programme.

NPP's charleston was energetic right enough, but I thought at the time of watching that there were timing issues. Glad to see I'm not the only one who thought that.

I see they wheeled out the annual vt outings to a school and an old folk's home this week. So cringy and useless. As were the 'Manchester/Italy tour' and 'My BFFs' vts. Embarrassing and timewasting.

Jay is a very cool man on the dance floor but I do think he does look just a teensy bit naff in training when he goes for the shorts/black socks/black shoes combo. Or is that just me?!

Anita and Gleb good - surprised the judges didn't comment on the move where he threw himself on her. I find his choreography fresh and interesting.

Loved Giovanni and Georgia's dance. Wonder if they could be contenders for the glitter ball?

I giggled all the way through Jeremy's dance, mainly at his grim determination to look grimly determined!

SockQueen · 08/11/2015 18:12

I wanted Jay's AT to be much hotter than it was. Technically, it was beautiful, but the chemistry wasn't as THERE as it could have been, which is surprising given how cosy they've looked on other occasions.

Thought PA was overmarked - it was good, but there were definite timing issues even without going to slow-mo. Might still have been the best dance of the night, but did not deserve tens.

I thought the judges were much harder on Katie for her mistakes than Georgia or Kellie.

Claudia's dress is a bit trash bag.

Didn't enjoy that pro dance.

I love Caudia. But what has she got on?

FedUpWithBriiiiiick · 08/11/2015 19:25

Dafuq has Claudia got on? She is usually so on it!!

Hepzibar · 08/11/2015 19:27

Carole must go. She just walks around with her hand on her hip. At least Jeremy looks as though he's trying a bit

Don't like Carole anyway she is very annoying.

FedUpWithBriiiiiick · 08/11/2015 19:28

NPP being a big gurny twat there.

ThursdayLastWeek · 08/11/2015 19:28

Why do they insist on dressing up Anita and Gleb out of the dressing up box every damn week?

And Kellie looked outstanding last week, and now she's back in loose, too big seeming clothes Confused

GrouchyKiwi · 08/11/2015 19:29

SCD on Twitter is saying that Jo Clifton actually did the singing then. If so, I thought she was quite good.

ThursdayLastWeek · 08/11/2015 19:29
