Blush Grin
Obviously missed that.

ppeatfruit · 18/11/2015 15:20

Grin digerd Did you notice what a good substitute for Karen Kev's sister was ? Her explanations of how the dances should be done and how she teaches them were superb IMO. I haven't read the whole thread so it may have been mentioned before Grin

Redcrayons · 18/11/2015 16:39

I really liked Joanne standing in for Karen. Thought she was excellent.

Also loved Tristan shutting down all the hype about Blackpool saying it's no big deal for the celebs Grin. Love that he's hilariously off-brand.

digerd · 18/11/2015 18:19

ppeatfruit Yes I did and think she is a brilliant teacher.
Ian Waite is on IT2 with his wand and comments on how training is going tonight. Love it when Zoe demos with him. Infact, I love everything Zoe does.

areyoubeingserviced · 18/11/2015 18:58

Digerd- agree with you about how great Zoe is. She makes live presenting look really easy, when in fact, it is the opposite.

Strictlyobsessed · 18/11/2015 19:09

I know its v bitchy (sorry) but when Aliona said the word "compare "a few times her voice and accent reminded me of the meerkat advert. no offence meant, its just her accent is similar or is it just me?

AnyoneButAndre · 18/11/2015 19:32

Oooh! Christmas Special Lineup!

KurriKurri · 18/11/2015 19:43

Nice line up - think the winner is a bit of foregone conclusion Grin

ThursdayLastWeek · 18/11/2015 19:57

I notice Brendan and Lisa not reunited...

Also, poor Robin Windsor - does he ever get a waif?

ppeatfruit · 18/11/2015 20:14

Okay this is being a little nosey but does anyone wonder if Aliona's marriage and Jay's previous relationship (if he's in one) will survive this series? Iam getting some serious vibes from them Blush Shock

I agree about Zoe Digerd she's a seriously efficient presenter with a light hearted touch and will go far I reckon.

AnyoneButAndre · 18/11/2015 20:26

I dunno about the winner of the Xmas special. Harry is hugely popular and a lovely mover, but Tom Chambers is effectively a professional dancer now, so he could do something quite spectacular.

SheHasAWildHeart · 18/11/2015 20:31

Am sure when Jay was in the Wanted there were lots of rumours about his sexuality which he although he didn't confirm he did play along with. But tbh boy band members are nearly always surrounded by such rumours. If Aliona didn't have a husband it would be nice for Jay & Aliona to get together coz then there might be some feelings in their dancing.

KurriKurri · 18/11/2015 20:35

I was assuming people would vote for Cassidy Little in the Xmas show.

I think Jay and Aliona are close - people do become close friends when they work together on something where you have to depend on each other in performance (my DS is an actor - he makes very close friendships with people in rehearsals and performance, male and female - he is also very happily married) I don't see anything more than that between them, as far as I know Jay is not in a relationship - but I don't think he his having an affair with Aliona.

ppeatfruit · 18/11/2015 21:01

IMO they're holding back the feelings deliberately. The dancers don't have to heavily emote to dance well. The judges are not fair in that respect.

Surprised by Ian Waite saying how 'light on his feet' was PA and actually we were watching him stomping along in his trainers Grin.

SockQueen · 18/11/2015 22:11

The BBC link doesn't work for me - looks like they've taken it down for some reason.

I think Jay is single. I also realised in today's interview that he is feeling the pressure of being Harry Judd Mk2, when he said "Don't compare!" Must be tough.

KurriKurri · 18/11/2015 22:13

I suspect on saturday Peter will jive like a hippo on mogadon and the judges will rave about his light feet Grin

MovemberSucks · 18/11/2015 23:18

Grin KurriKurri. Sometimes when I listen to the judges talking about Orange Pete I wonder if they saw the same dance that I did. Perhaps the orangeness is literally dazzling at close quarters.

SoupDragon · 19/11/2015 07:21

The dancers don't have to heavily emote to dance well

Emoting at all would be nice from Jay. Now I've noticed his blank look I can't avoid it.

ppeatfruit · 19/11/2015 08:24

Like a hippo on mogadon Grin Grin KurriKurri

Yes Movember The judges' 'anti orange glare' sunglasses are too dark for them and they can't see properly while watching PA's galumphing dance Grin.

Either that or he's oiling their palms with silver!

Yes to both your points Maryz I really like Oti, she is very talented and seems so sweet.

Jay to win Grin or Anita I didn't realise she has not had dance training, she's amazingly good considering (and undereffing marked).

Jay has said he trained in Contemporary dance and this, as with most ballet dances, is expressive through the body movements with only subtle facial expression..

In Ballroom, Latin facial expressions became OTT at one time and critised.
It is difficult for the men as they must have the style but remain "masculine" which is particularly a challenge in the Rumba.

Look forward to the Xmas show but before that seeing how Jay applies himself to the other dances. I am concerned about the Charleston but fingers crossed.

ppeatfruit · 19/11/2015 11:50

Yes I like G and G as well, but she is obviously, like Helen, a trained dancer and although Jay is, he's humble and not perfect at all.

Can you tell I've got favourites Grin?

GruntledOne · 19/11/2015 14:11

The odd thing is that Jay wasn't totally blank faced in his jive - there were several smiles. However, I suspect that was a combination of genuine enjoyment and relief that it was going well.
