I'm GUTTED Jeremy has gone. Blush Think he was just overwhelmed at the end.

emotionsecho · 15/11/2015 20:56

Who is popular on Digital Spy sooty?

ilovesooty · 15/11/2015 21:21

Sorry emotionsecho

I meant Anita but I was a bit slow posting and there was another post in between and the page changed.

emotionsecho · 15/11/2015 21:34

Thanks sooty, I was hoping you meant Anita.

Strictlyobsessed · 15/11/2015 21:36

Think Jeremy just was so gutted to go and he and Karen did seem to have a good laugh, so it was more a hug between friends that know its all over didn't really see anything more than that .I'm sorry to see him go liked the sound of his next bizarre dance!

CocktailQueen · 15/11/2015 21:37

Thanks, kurrikurri! Appreciated.

I agree with you re peter and his hidden feet
About Helen and her bland routine
But I liked kellie's routine - didn't think I was going to, but it was well danced! Do you think they mark BBC staff/actors higher than others? Would love to hear the judges' views on this!!

I would be sad to see this is all fixed like X factor

CocktailQueen · 15/11/2015 21:43

mrsClusterfuck - do tell!

Agree that Anton is past his sell-by. Is his real name really Tony Beak?! Lol.

And who on earth ruined Erasure's 'A little respect' last night? Love that song, and they were crap.

minimammoth - I'm sad about Helen and her simpering. Thought she'd be more feisty. Ah well. Do you think she's had surgery/Botox?!

Pupsiecola · 15/11/2015 21:50

I thought that about Jeremy and Karen's hug at the end, but actually it looked like he was trying to console her too?

GlitteryRollerGirl · 15/11/2015 22:03

Yes, Anton's real name is Antony Beke. He used to compete under that name, and then turned up at a competition one day suddenly calling himself Anton Du Beke. I believe one of the old pros (possibly Ian Waite) joked about how they saw his name and thought it was a new dancer and then "Tony" appeared.

What an idiot.

Thankyouforthemusic · 15/11/2015 22:06

Did anyone else think Claudia was in tears at the end when they all crowded round Jeremy?

TheDrsDocMartens · 15/11/2015 22:25

Yes I thought so. She's sweet & obviously cares what happens on the show.

Tapirs · 15/11/2015 22:32

I love Claudia. I can't help it.

Clawdy · 15/11/2015 22:33

Not remotely a PA fan,but can't quite understand the comments he gets on here - yes,he is a bit annoying, but not really a hate-object. Hmm

digerd you always seem quite knowledgeable about such things - is there a reason for dresses with dropped waists in certain dances?
I mean like Anita's and Karen's this weekend?
They're so hideous, I figured there must be a proper dance reason!

Love rereading this thread after I watched the show - I think the Strictly 'it all evens out in the end' Novenmber move is happening now. Unless someone has a truly awful dance next week it'll be Jamelia out IMO.

Thursday
In dancing, the costumes/dresses are supposed to enhance the beauty of the dancer's body lines and movement/flow The dropped waist in the Latin dances enhances the seductiveness of the small of the back/hips and in the ballroom dances enhances the elegant posture and body lines.

For dancers who are long in the body and shorter in the legs - dropped waists would not be appropriate. Smile

This series seems to have had inferior costumes except for Georgia's Charleston dress. Cuts in BBC's expenditure, perhaps.

SheHasAWildHeart · 16/11/2015 10:24

I did think it was funny that Tristran was wearing a costume that looked like it was made for Kevin, and Tristran was still like "nope I ain't gonna turn into an annoying show off and will continue to be my normal nonchalant self." I love him so much.

ThursdayLastWeek · 16/11/2015 10:57

Thanks digerd that makes sense - though not so much for the foxtrot IMO, but that's why I'm not a judge Grin

Some of the outfits and dresses appear to be very beautifully made with some gorgeous materials so I don't quite understand what goes wrong in the sewing room. Loved Kate's dress this week by the way. The tight pants are the main problem. Kevin's pants last night were still too tight and showing too much shirt between pants and waistcoat. Maybe the pant maker needs more training.

SheHasAWildHeart · 16/11/2015 12:14

"pant maker" might be the best job title ever!

SheHasAWildHeart · 16/11/2015 12:23

For the PP who liked Claudia's dress on the results show, you can buy it here for £770

SheHasAWildHeart · 16/11/2015 12:23

With a matching clutch that's £415

AnyoneButAndre · 16/11/2015 14:14

Pity about the dress being so expensive - she does sometimes wear more affordable high streety stuff and it would have looked great on me if only it cost several hundred pounds less.

GruntledOne · 16/11/2015 14:31

I preferred her dress on the main show. Any information about that one?

digerd · 16/11/2015 16:38

Thursday
I did look back at Anita and Karen's dresses and I didn't notice at the weekend but they looked both cheap and drab. You are right, they did look awful.

Jeanette's was beautiful with a dropped waist too. She would have looked too short waisted and all long full skirt if the skirt had started on her actual waist . Her body lines would have looked dumpy instead of elegant.

The proportions are so important. With long , full skirts the body is in danger of looking too short which would spoil the elegance essential in the Foxtrot.
