I have voted Anita x2 and Jamelia x 1.

I have a horrible feeling Jamelia will end up in the dance off again. With any luck she'll be up against Carol but Bruno might have scuppered that by being so rude to her.
I think Katie must be nearing her sell by date now too.

Also slightly underwhelmed by tonight. I hate to say it but I quite enjoyed NNP's dance - but I always think of the charleston as a bit of a separate entity - it's always a crowd pleaser. But to be fair he did a good job, and I loved Janette's hair - she should get it chopped for real.

The props made me nervous - especially after Jamelia's mishap. During Anita and Gleb's routine I was sure one of them was going to trip on that mop lying on the floor.

I loved Jay AT - I personally prefer his understatedness to some of the gurning that goes on. I also wonder of the "rumours" and whisperings about him and Aliona getting a bit too close, have made him a back off with anything needing passion and intensity. He hasn't really had a 'jazz hands grinning happy face dance' yet, they've all been quite serious - even his jive was a cool laid back kind of vibe - so no chance for over emoting.

I feel the judges get an idea in their heads and can't let it go, Helen is a lovely dancer, but favours the rabbit in the headlight rictus grin approach to expressions - and that isn't commented on.

Anyhow - I'm very biased, Jay is my and DD's unashamed favourite and we resent ANY criticism of him - keeps us grumbling all night.

Oh and shut up about your walnuts Len FFS.

KurriKurri I feel the same way you do about Jay.

The problem imo is there is a huge difference between watching something on a stage or in the studio as they are and expecting people to make big expressions to reach the back of the room and watching something on the TV where the camera picks up all the subtle nuances of expression. When people 'over express' it looks ridiculous on the TV screen and the vast majority of people watching are not in the studio.

I thought the Judges were totally wrong last week about his wolf persona, I though he played it just right, very cool. This week again he was subtle and controlled, there was a definite intensity to the dance, I don't recall Vincent playing to the crowds, it is an intimate dance.

What's happened to Pasha - he used to be gorgeous but this series he looks all portly and dumpy? Thank god there's 'Aliash' to still letch at ...

I really can't be doing with Helen's wide eyed simpering reaction to the judges comments. It makes my teeth itch.
I thought she was utterly annoying until I saw the VT of her friends before she danced and they're even more so. Gawd - I can imagine them all squealing endlessly when they get together on a night out.

Back to the dancing - Peter 'I love my kids' Andre was annoyingly good tonight.

Enjoyed Jay although wish Aliona would stop pawing at him. She's quite intense.

Feel sorry for Jamelia.

I think Aliona should tweak her choreography a bit, I know that the Argentine tango is more showy for the woman than the man but she gave herself loads of fabulous looking moves and really she needs to be making Jay look fabulous not casting him in a supporting role.

Kurri Jay is my unashamed favourite too! agree that the judges get some idea in their heads Jay is not an actor and he looked serious enough, its as if well we can't criticise the dancing so lets look for something else to criticise never think choreography is Aliona's strong point never seems as exciting as Gleb's for example which was brilliant again tonight.

Hope Carol and Jamelia in dance off , Carol because it reeaaally is time to go Pasha looks tired and Jamelia because I really cannot take to her.

These are examples of how out of sync NPP and janette were at times. It was an OK charleston but only worthy of 8s IMHO!

NPP was good but not that good
his face pulling was just odd

PA was definitely overmarked. He didn't have the swivel. The cynic in me thinks it was because he needed to be at the top to get his fans going again as the BBC thinks we're all tuning in for him.

Aliona looked fab in the AT but she can't choreograph for her male celebrity. It was all me me and is one of the reasons I can't stand her.

Without seeing the photos / slow mo, I thought NPP did a great job - it was a real people pleaser (& I'm not a fan!!)

Only finished watching a hour or so ago, so I'm behind with the threads but I am getting so fed up with all the props and stage sets at the start of the dances, we all end up shouting "just get on with it!" to pretty well every couple now.

Who's NPP?

Rollon NPP = No Pants Peter, he shared that bit of TMI a few weeks ago.

MrsJamin you should tweet those pictures to theJudges, there is no way that dance was worth a higher mark than Jays' jive.

Jeremy's horse was the most pointless prop ever. Wear a cowboy outfit and a hat (for 2 seconds) and we know you're a cowboy. Leave bloody Dobbin out of it.

In another irritating prop gripe, the mop dance was worse. I couldn't concentrate on the dancing as I kept wondering when they were going to ditch the mops and the costumes were distractingly awful.

We should petition the producers. Training videos so we see more training and no shite "comedy" VTs. No more props, set a scene but no Dobbin or light sabers.

chica - you are so right. Aliona was amazing in the AT but I thought Jay was not shown off at all. We saw a snippet from the AT experts and the man can definitely do more - and I think Jay could have too.

Jay took my breath away with the jive and he won the series for me with that dance.

I quite liked that there were no props with AT.

PA is beyond annoying.

The comedy VTs are just awful. I want to have a bit more ITT type description of what is happening and how a dance is marked not a "I thought We would go parachuting so that we can understand the foxtrot" type Bollox.

And the fiddling around bit at the start of each dance is getting daft. Yes, a second or two to set the scene, but Carol's bit was ages long and so Boring.

However, I adore Jeremy's gumption, agree with you about simpering Helen. She is utterly utterly beautiful, but I really can't make myself like her or care about her. Jay is just fantastic and I love Anita too.
But please can we keep Anton in for a bit longer, I am still a fan

I thought that NPP wasn't in synch either but the dance was really enjoyable. (And that song is a favourite of mine)

Totally agree about all the faffing around at the start of dances. I want them just to get on with it. It's overproduced at the moment.

I miss the training videos. That bit with Helen's mates was awful. Plus I feel like Len shouting why won't you just dance at the start.

The pros are not responsible for the choreography of the Charleston or the Argentine Tango.

They faff about at the beginning so they don't have to dance for the full 90 seconds - so perfectly explicable when it is Carol who couldn't dance her way out of a paper bag, less so when it is More competent dancers.

I did read that Jay had agravated an old knee injury this week which might explain his subdued choreography.
