Rubbish. And will probably produce a lot of John Lewis ad type versions.

And there is an overload of of mash-ups.

Here are the songs they are singing.

THE BOYS
Seann Miley Moore : California Dreamin' - Mamas & Papas
Ché Chesterman : You Can't Hurry Love - The Supremes
Mason Noise : Teardrops - Womack & Womack

THE GIRLS
Lauren Murray : Hold Back The River - James Bay
Louisa Johnson : Billie Jean - Michael Jackson
Kiera Weathers : Return Of The Mack - Mark Morrison
Monica Michael : Crazy In Love - Beyoncè

THE OVERS
Anton Stephans : All About That Bass / Bang Bang - Meghan Trainor / Jessie J
Max Stone : Somewhere Over The Rainbow / What A Wonderful World - Israel Kamakawiwo'ole / Louis Armstrong

THE GROUPS
Reggie 'N' Bollie : What Makes You Beautiful / Cheerleader - One Direction / OMI
4th Impact : Sound Of The Underground / Boom Clap - Girls Aloud / Charli XCX

Lots of interesting choices- smell a rat that Lauren is the only one who has been given something current in her group- and Kevin has been stitched up like a kipper with 'Return of the Mack'.

I might miss the beginning, as I have said I will go to a firework display. It's raining- I hope it carries on

See y'all later

Monica did not do anything original. Am surprised how she was duped into thinking that she was. She fifty shades of grey version is what she did and poorly too.

Raahh · 08/11/2015 00:01

Deb- I haven't seen the film, but I was sure there was a version done like that already out there.

I haven't watched the movie. I have seen it used for advertising and some of Beyoncé's performances.

Debbriana1 · 08/11/2015 00:14

I thought that Louisa Johnson was the best and that reggie n bollie. The vocals are not great but get a good vibe out of them. I have just caught up with the show. I can't stand the adverts. That's why I haven't watched the JL advert.

Destinysdaughter · 08/11/2015 02:20

I was watching this tonight with a date and was itching to come on here ( but thought it would be a bit rude...)

I wanted to say this was more like transgender night than reinvention night. Did you notice how many people sang songs that were originally sung by the opposite gender? And as a result, made no fucking sense at all?? All about the Bass and Billy Jean in particular! WTAF!!

LucyBabs · 08/11/2015 03:27

Have I missed a memo? Why are you lot even bothering to watch x factor? ?

If it's so shit switch over!

squoosh · 08/11/2015 03:35

We're watching it because we love to hate it. It's been that way since the year 1349 when Freeman Brookstein threw down his pitch fork and yodelled a tune about the Black Death to Squire Cowell.

If joyful appreciation is your bag then switch over to the Strictly thread.

You're welcome!

squoosh · 08/11/2015 03:37

Or maybe you're a nan with a grandchild on this year's show.........

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 08/11/2015 07:03

Yes yes, you've missed a memo.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 08/11/2015 07:40

Yes the memo said "don't come along being all PO and piss on our cornflakes"

Roussette · 08/11/2015 08:20

Fanjo Grin

We watch it to slag it off make very relevant social comment on it!

And LucyBabs I'll have you know that Simon Cowell reads this thread. Oh yes. We poked fun made a comment about the chair-off and how demeaning it was for the contestants to beg and next night he changed it and took that bit away! Oh yes, he's glued to our comments..... Morning, Si!

InQuiteAPickle · 08/11/2015 08:53

Why are you lot even bothering to watch X Factor?

Because, as has been said, we love to hate it and let's face it...there's fuck all else on on a Saturday night! It's either X Factor or watch Lord Peter Andre Of Orange gurn through the Rhumba (unless he's been voted out? I don't know as I don't watch Strictly cuz I watch X Factor Grin ).

I must admit to turning off before the end last night and I went upstairs to watch Pitch Perfect 2.

Collieputthekettleon · 08/11/2015 09:08

Haha! Yeah you missed the memo that said if you don't like the thread then read another. Hmm

InQuiteAPickle · 08/11/2015 09:53

Or start an appreciative X Factor thread Wink.

lizzydrippingsghost · 08/11/2015 10:29

anyone else think mason noise looks like david gest they're like father and son

The80sweregreat · 08/11/2015 10:44

Watched on tape today. Yes, che is like the Aeoflot man from ' airline' hate that song , so not keen this week.
Louisa was good, Seann should be in les mis.
Poor Anton, for the chop i think.
Whizzed through the binbags earlier.
Sqoosh, squire cowell! Brookstein is the one who will never go away.
Mason is gest's son surely! Lol
Sorry Peter A haters, but he got a 10 this week and still dancing ( whizzed through that last night) he is annoying tho..will probably win.
Grest thread tho ladies as always.

LineyReborn · 08/11/2015 12:35

I went off to watch the sci fi cult classic Primer on Netflix and didn't understand a word if it. I then read the plot summary on Wiki and was even more confused.

So it's back the X Factor tonight. It's all my brain is good for, apparently. Grin

CuntryLiving · 08/11/2015 12:46

I watched last night but missed this thread until now. Who's going out, what does everyone think?

Feels mean to say because they seem like lovely people, but 4th Impact and Mason Noise are clearly not quite as good as some of the others (or maybe I'm too old to be their target audience).

CuntryLiving · 08/11/2015 12:57

Oh and I thought Sean was outstanding, loved that song, it was my favourite of tonight.

I think Louisa might win overall because she was good too, and she can do the singing and dancing and is kind of 'pop' friendly. She has wide appeal I think, whereas someone like Che, who sings even better, probably only appeals to people who just want to listen to a good voice. That's not really what a lot of pop stars are about.

The80sweregreat · 08/11/2015 13:18

Louisa has the appeal, an all rounder and very pretty too.
She must be a contender for the final i guess.
Reggie n Bollie are just fun. Max with his kids was a bit odd.
He has a nice voice but i wished he would just sing straight for a change.
Rit ah, tone it down..
Slacks dress did look like a cardboard box.
But then i whizzed through their chit chat,. So that was good.

dillite · 08/11/2015 16:40

I just watched the entire 2 hour show in less than 30 minutes, as that's how much time was spent on "singing" with the rest being filler. Why do they even bother sticking people on stage? Might as well just make it the sob story and advert competition.

Is it me, or is this years bunch the worst yet? So. Much. Screeching. And that's just the 4 sisters. And why did they turn Monica into a horny drag queen? And I don't even know what to say or think about the old guy singing about his lumps and bumps.

LookAtMeGo · 08/11/2015 16:49

Bully Jean was the weirdest song of the night. Am I thick, but what scenario could possibly happen where a 17 year old girl would have to deny being the parent of another woman's child?Confused

ElderPrice · 08/11/2015 19:37

I agree the song choices were beyond weird. Not so much reinvention as re-diculous!
Definitely think that Seann Miley Please God No More would be better suited to musical theatre.

LineyReborn · 08/11/2015 19:42

I'm going to watch it, because of this thread Smile and hopefully to see more than one act get booted off - one of which I pray will be the abominable 4th Impact.

Roussette · 08/11/2015 19:54

I'm with you there Liney on 4thImpact, I just don't get it or them!

I'm not sure we're going to be here next year with an Xfactor thread, I honestly think it's had its day, I wonder if Simon realises imagining the size of his ego, he is possibly ignoring it
