It's a weird and unclear storyline. The best I can work out is that Claudette's husband left her and she told Vincent that Phil's Dad killed him. I don't get why Claudette hates the Mitchell's so much though?

There was that scene in the Albert where a Mitchell Aunt (Sal?) recognised Claudette with the implication she was a loose woman or a prostitute or something.
