Thought about mentioning Halloween Hell in the title but it's a Sunday morning and some of us may be feeling delicate enough.

No i dont think jay has a proper job any more bless him

The80sweregreat · 02/11/2015 11:45

Poor PA , maybe he is a bit overbearing and others have backed off? I bet its a bitchy place to be at times, all those egos, the dancers are quite famous too now. I read one year there was so much back stabbing and gossip it was unbearable! Makes me glad im not a celeb..

Tensmumym · 02/11/2015 12:03

I wasn't a fan of Kirsty but I thought her goodbye speech was quite gracious. The make up definitely didn't help her make the Charleston look fun and goofy. The wonderful Marian Keyes was on ITT on Friday and at the Saturday show. Her backstage report was that everyone seemed to genuinely get on and that Katie, Kirsty and Helen were "astonishingly warm, friendly and nice and clear "fast" friends".

It's notable how the judges have such a softly softly approach to giving any critique to PA compared to how they tear into the likes of Katie and Kirsty. I don't remember Len ever giving such detailed advice to a celeb before as he gave to Peter about the placement of his hand. Autumn2014 - wonderful description of PA as a "Frozen Food Ambassador". Watch him "interviewing" Justin Bieber. He manages to make Bieber look like a pro.

SoupDragon · 02/11/2015 12:13

I wonder if people paid be criticising PA and picking apart his every move if he wasn't PA.

I watch him and can spot the things that people are going to complain about and I am completely ambivalent towards him. I get the feeling that if someone else did the things he's doing, the complaints would be less and that if he picked up the actions and mannerisms of someone else, he would still get criticised.

AnyoneButAndre · 02/11/2015 12:22

It's a fair cop SoupDragon. I am utterly unable to be objective where PA is concerned. He could be the second coming of Mark Ramprakash and I'd still hate him.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeG0es · 02/11/2015 12:37

I have no strong feelings about PA either, I find him a bit gushing at times, but no issue with him otherwise.

Tensmumym · 02/11/2015 12:41

You may have a point SoupDragon but he doesn't help himself, does he? His USP is "I'm such a nice guy and I love my kids and beautiful wife". He doesn't seem to have anything else to offer. If you find this nauseating and/or insincere you're bound to criticise him because he, more than any other contestant, is only selling himself.

MrsJayy · 02/11/2015 12:48

I have no issue with him he is cheesey and rambles a bit Mark wright did the same cheesey ramblings last year he is desperate to win though

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 02/11/2015 12:59

I'm not sure SoupDragon, it's true that I didn't like him much beforehand, but I'm pretty sure that I would dislike anybody who was that arse-licky to the judges and did all that fake-humble stuff. I didn't know beforehand that he makes terrible jokes, and now I strongly dislike that about him too.

I'd never heard of Kirsty before this and I find her annoying and whiny. I don't watch Eastenders so the last time I saw Kelly was on The Upper Hand which I barely remember, I thought when I first saw her that she would be all hard and show-bizzy but I've come to quite like her for her genuine enthusiasm for dancing. I don't watch Corrie and I have no particular opinion about Georgia, she seems nice enough. So three different opinions about celebs that I didn't know. I think as the weeks go on my opinion of Orange Pete is less reliant on what I knew of him beforehand and more based on how he presents himself in Strictly.

GrouchyKiwi · 02/11/2015 13:54

Someone asked about Georgia's age: I think they said she's 24.

Before the show started I was completely ambivalent about PA, but he's really irritating me now with his gushing etc. Can't cope with it.

SoupDragon · 02/11/2015 15:45

I think lots of them are gushing though.

I know there are people I hate and thus can do no right :)

GrouchyKiwi · 02/11/2015 16:02

Oh yes. I don't like Kellie for the same reason, and if I hadn't watched a few seasons of Call The Midwife I'd probably feel the same about Helen.

GruntledOne · 02/11/2015 16:09

I don't massively take to Jamelia but I'm mildly tempted to vote for her next week just to contribute my bit to pushing Jeremy and/or Carol into the bottom two.

ThursdayLastWeek · 02/11/2015 16:19

I think I can probably bring myself to vote for Tristan Grin

Carole really has got to go now hasn't she?

JuanPotatoTwo · 02/11/2015 20:52

I actually quite liked Peter before his appearance on Strictly. But now I find him unbearably insincere - I think I wrote earlier in the thread that on Saturday, while he was sucking up to the judges, I had my fingers in my ears and my eyes shut and was squirming in embarrassment!

How did Kirsty and Brendan come over on ITT tonight?

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 03/11/2015 13:32

He is extremely gushing isn't he...

This has been all over my facebook this morning, and I thought you might like to see it Grin

GrouchyKiwi · 03/11/2015 13:37

Can't really top that background.

Tensmumym · 03/11/2015 13:45

Lovely video. Takes me back - I studied in Edinburgh many moons ago but only did Scottish country dancing.

Kirsty and Brendan pre-recorded their interview with Zoe. I think they did this because Kirsty seemed quite emotional and they weren't sure how she would cope if she did it live.

Inkanta · 03/11/2015 14:10

Someone up thread suspected Kirsty was a little vulnerable and maybe that's true, what with her recent divorce I expect.

Horsemad · 03/11/2015 16:04

digerd · 03/11/2015 17:15

I loved the male rowers doing the Strictly. They were really enjoying themselves, some were good and another was giggling. Also love the muscles of them all and not embarrassed to have a go.

Florabella22 · 03/11/2015 18:44

Why is Jo Clifton doing Choreography Corner in a pair of Santa boots? Is it a dare?

Strictlyobsessed · 03/11/2015 19:19

kelly looks exactly the same in that picture of the upper hand! Kirsty was like this years Victoria Pendleton she looked close to tears most of the time. I think she thought she was better than she was and always looked crushed by the judges comments, which is why I think Brendon was so nice to her.

Fiderer · 03/11/2015 19:56

Is Jamelia always so annoying with that OTT laugh? Or is she trying to make people like her? Blimey it was irritating. I wondered if she'd been enjoying the refreshments in the Green Room.

I just watched the opening pro dance from Sunday.
I loved it! So original I thought.
