Thought about mentioning Halloween Hell in the title but it's a Sunday morning and some of us may be feeling delicate enough.

Bindi is very good. You can tell DWTS has a much better budget. But craig's there leaping about and going OTT.

My iPad died last night half way through a rant about Tess.

Claud is making her look worse every week. You'd think after all these years she'd be able to get her "keep dancing" bit right at the end, but noooooo.

Also, shut up talking back to the judges.

And she must spend a bit of time learning some news lines. I'm going to need a new telly if she says "they're on their feet" one more time.

We.can.see.that! Stop stating the fucking obvious.

TSS we need a petition. Tess can do Loose Women or something (as long as she's not the 'driver' on the left. Please please please get Zoe Ball presenting SCD.

TSSDNCOP · 25/10/2015 09:44

And T shirts Sparkling.

YY to Zoe. Failing that put a long plank of wood in a different ball gown every week at the end of the judges desk.

Should have worked in a "Fabulous Dahhhnce Dahhlings" into the title, but, heh, it's a Sunday morning and typing is tricksey enough.

For the petition, I don't get the marking at all, pretty much like last year.

Which leads me on to my (annual) gripe: Why not have 2 dances (or OK 3) and then have VTs of training not buffoonery and the judges telling us what's important in the VW, jive, cha cha, whatever dances are featured that week so we can watch and compare.

It seems so arbitrary to me these days. I still love watching it, I think a lot more people would too if it weren't so random and also, it wouldn't come across as a personality contest if the producers focussed more on the dancing.

Oh and fire Tess.

Kate Thornton hosted the tour one year, she was very good. It was Zoe last year, she danced and everything.

Not much to say but marking my place to I can find the thread this evening. It's such a competent cast this year that we'll be down to "shock boots" any moment now - only Jeremy, Carol, Ainsley and Kirsty left to go.

To be fair ITT does have quite a bit about the dances ATM

MY perfect Strictly judges - Darcey, Craig, Ian Waite, Karen.

Perfect presenters would be Zoe (in Tess's place) and Claude

Shameless place marking.

I thought Bruno was awful last night - why does every comment have to start with a shouted word and him standing up. Can't he talk like a normal person?

The laughing at Jeremy was plain nasty and unnecessary and I thought Jeremy looked quite hurt - he tries so hard and has such a nice enthusiastic personality.

Each year they seem to have a group of women (usually) who are all fairly good/stage school but don't have much personality - their dances are quite forgettable (this year it is Helen, Kelly and Georgia [although I am warming to Georgia a bit],last year it was Pixie and Frankie) DD and I call them the Generics Grin

I wish Katie had been with Brendan -she might have stood a better chance.
Loved Jay and Anita last night. Peter Andre danced like a horse as usual - and as usual was wildly over marked.

Sorry in the Bindi clip I meant Bruno was leaping about not Craig. Confused my joodges.

ppeat Yes, you're right, ITT does have more dance stuff but why (wail) can't the show itself?

It is, and comes across as, an afterthought. Plus, Person has had no dance training whatsoever and will be judged on the VW after 5 days of training. And get picked up on and marked down for hand placement.

Am also cross at self as don't have iPlayer and was working too late to watch ITT recently.

Thanks for the new thread, Fiderer.

I'd love for them to go back to just a few dances each week too. It makes it so much easier to follow and compare. They all put different flavours on the dances so it wouldn't be boring.

Anita is chronically undermarked, which is a shame. I think Georgia is too. (And I really like her, I think she's sweet.)

Not looking forward to the Halloween nonsense. I hate the theme weeks.

TSSDNCOP · 25/10/2015 10:13

I can't really get worked up about the stage schoolers. in years where Chris Hollins and Mark Ramprakash won it makes it clear it doesn't matter. This year Anita is great and hasn't got a stage school background.

If anything i think it turns the audience vote the other way, the viewers love a trier which is why Jeremy and Carol are still in.

But I agree completely with the comments about ITT, more of the skills required would be better in the stupid video diaries. we only see it in Len's Lens in the main show, and that's a but i find really interesting.

Plus, when our petition succeeds, if Zoe did the main show she could do that, because unlike Plank she knows what she's actually talking about.

Report
TSSDNCOP · 25/10/2015 10:15

And i really think we need to stop this over-scripted ridiculousness of pretending we all come back live on Sunday night.

We all know it's all done later the same day. At minimum it would halve the dress budget for Plank, Claud and Darcy if they simply said "the results shown tomorrow night".

Sparklingbrook · 25/10/2015 10:16

Zoe is everything Tess isn't. If Tess can't do Loose Women how about The One Show? I tuned in last week and Geri Halliwell was presenting. Shock so they aren't fussy.

Report
TSSDNCOP · 25/10/2015 10:19

Although I think they may be ruing the Geri decision Grin why they keep letting her near live cameras is a mystery to me. She must know where the bodies are buried.

Yes to Zoë replacing the terrible, wooden Tess and yes to more technical stuff instead of the cringey video diaries, I never find time to watch ITT regularly.

Last night was the first time I saw Bruno - I've been fast-forwarding him this series. Darcy is annoying to listen to, but here advice is usually good and clear, and helps explain (to me anyway) what the dancers are doing wrong.

I agree with everything Fids said at 9.46 - it's random and arbitrary and a personality contest at this stage - though I think even the public are better than the judges towards the end of most series, and do actually vote for the dancers.

TheAnimatedRemainsOfMaryz · 25/10/2015 10:25

I've also been watching bits of DWTS - Bindi is great, her contemporary dance actually made me well up a bit Blush

TSSDNC Not only does Zoe know about dancing she has the intelligence and ability to think on her feet. It's extremely difficult to hold a live show together (dh trains laypeople to appear on TV and works with presenters, he's very impressed with her ).
