Finally!! My dear little bleeder had hidden his ipad from his brother and hence from me, so I've not been able to post all day, bah! It's like having cold turkey after being an addict when you can't post on here - shaking, twitching, cold sweats Shock

Hope all those suffering with chests and other ailments soon feel better - rubbish time of year for all the germs and bugs. kuia very envious of your summer sunshine AND a visit from the Mumfords. Just looking at the NZ immigration website to see what the quota is for allowing middle aged unqualified, unskilled and no longer productive females over 50 without their own teeth into the country is. Unfortunately, it's zero, humph, so enjoy the sunshine Angry I'm not bitter

Somewhat disappointed with SAS last night. Hardly any Fuxy on show and certainly not in his tight wetsuit. Although to be fair I did shred his last one with my teeth in overdrive so maybe he hasn't got a spare. Ant was an ok replacement feature, but his David Beckham voice is a little off-putting, and I found the chasing across the welsh countryside for an hour quite boring. Hope next week's is better Confused

Ditto on not much of Foxy last night. But I did love the bit when he was driving the Land Rover with his gorgeous manly arm on the steering wheel. I did love that part. Wink I would love to push his driving seat back and do a bit of mouth orienteering and cuppage work round his manly parts. Blush

Ilovelblue · 10/11/2015 17:11

Well, another grotty day at the coalface. I may have mentioned a few weeks ago about a colleague of mine who had been diagnosed with a secondary cancer (tumour near his spine) but where they had failed to find the primary source. A couple of weeks ago he lost the use of his legs and he died last night. I think it's probably a blessing in disguise but he leaves a wife and three children (the youngest is eight). It puts all our whinges and whines into perspective.

moojangles · 10/11/2015 17:13

ilove so sorry to hear this x

pixieg1rl · 10/11/2015 17:37

Oh, that is shitty ilove. His poor family.

Ah ilove so terribly sorry to hear this. His poor family. Flowers

MaddieMoo82 · 10/11/2015 18:42

I'm really sorry ilove really horrible news. So so awful for his family Flowers

Onlygirljen · 10/11/2015 20:56

That's awful ilove. I've just had a massive moan about DS being ill and work being shit, and reading something like that puts it all in perspective. His poor family. Hope you are ok, always a shock when it's somebody you know.

pixieg1rl · 10/11/2015 21:32

In less serious news DS's school are having a bake off and local bake off star and roadkill expert Ian is judging the competition. The roads around here are full of partridges, pheasants and I nearly hit a deer on the school run this afternoon, so he can fill the freezer on the way home

OP posts:
Richtea19 · 10/11/2015 21:49

ilove such sad tragic news, it really does put things into perspective.*

pixie* that's so funny having Ian judging the bake off! Those pheasants really are dumb birds walking into the roads! I saw a dead fox today at the roadside, it was so sad, his little face looked so peaceful.

I'm going to attempt decorating little DSs bedroom tomorrow, his off to Germany on an exchange, so I'm hoping to de-fumigate it and clean it up! It's such a tiny bedroom it should only take me a few days.

Richtea19 · 10/11/2015 21:51

Did anyone watch London Spy last night? It was really good. Ben Whishaw was in it. Worth a watch.

MaddieMoo82 · 10/11/2015 22:04

Ooh local celebrity pix Confused he will probably pick up some roadkill on his way home....

Ilovelblue · 10/11/2015 22:42

I feel totally kn......d tonight. Think it's a combination of having my friend's problems all weekend, the discomfort with my shoulder (physio starts tomorrow) and then my colleague dying. Fell asleep watching Holby City and only woke up as it was finishing. Don't think it was a very good storyline anyway. We are right though, a death of a person of that age (49) puts everything into perspective.

I met my former boss for lunch today and he came to pick me up at work. It was p*ssing it down with rain and he turned up in a silver Range Rover. Now CJ he most certainly is not (twice his age for a start) but I did have to giggle a bit. We've had one or two ff's where Molly has struggled to get into CJ's Range Rover and I think I am about the same height she is supposed to be. I got into it ok but struggled to get out as my legs seemed to be dangling in mid-air. When I eventually slid out in a most unladylike manner, I ended up in a bloody great puddle! No CJ to lift me down!

SoEverybodyDance · 10/11/2015 23:03

Ilove so sorry to see the news about your colleague dying. 49 is very young age for this and leaving a eight year old child is so sad - it's the thing I most dread happening to my little monster.

Had to laugh at your description of slithering down the side of the Range Rover into a puddle! Reminded me of Lola's? FF car share a while back which I enjoyed...

kuiakaituhi · 11/11/2015 03:15

Hi, everyone.
Mumford concert was epic. Loud, packed with every age group, they played straight for 2 1/2 hours. Don't know where they get their energy.Marcus Mumford mightn't be the prettiest Pom prannet but he's got a fantastic set of pipes. The whole place just went off!
Woof we've talked before about us importing you. You missed one chance by not stowing away with the ALL Blacks on Air NZ1. You could have stowed away in a Mumford drum case if you'd been on to it. Keep a watch out for the next chance.

Dizzydots · 11/11/2015 07:11

Hope physio begins to help quickly ilove. How tragic about your work colleague, that poor family. Our spell of ups and mainly downs continues but agree that health puts everything firmly into perspective - dd developed a serious chronic illness in her early teens (happily now mostly under control) and we try never to forget that as long as we have our health everything else is secondary. Doesn't always work though with the latest round of pesky everyday problems coming thick and fast ....currently plumbing, water leak and hole in ceiling related, grrr.

On a hopefully much brighter note - as S2 starts filming in the new year surely there should be an imminent announcement or will the cast be kept under wraps do we think?

icemistOBE · 11/11/2015 07:14

Morning

So sorry to hear about your colleague ilove Thanks

Our school are having a cake sale and dressing up as superheroes. Nursery are selling cakes too.

Was on my timehop today about BA being in Canada. Little did we know the costume horrors that would follow! Shock

Big hugs ilove, hope your week gets better for you xxxx
I was thinking about your friend with the money problems, and if she doesn't want "official" counselling type stuff, have a look at CAP money courses, which we non-judgemental practical advice x
Hope your physio helps, and that everyone else is ok too .... Sorry, quick pop in as being yelled at by kids! Have a good day x

Nickel45 · 11/11/2015 07:33

"Give" non-judgemetal not "we" .... You know what I mean!

KellyHb · 11/11/2015 07:54

Morning all.

rich I'm going to watch London Spy today. It does look really good. I like Ben Whishaw. He was great in The Hour with Romola Garai a couple of years ago.

One twin is will be off school today as he's chesty.

dizzy hopefully there'll be some sort of announcement soon re: cast. Its funny to think we've been waiting since June for more news. I've still got mixed feelings about it. Looking forward to it but very apprehensive at the same time. Confused still hoping for the couple of scenes I would love

Hope your house troubles get sorted dizzy.

moojangles · 11/11/2015 08:14

pixie it worked, perfectly captured pre-deployment, the difference between what you want it to be, what it turns out to be and the fear of saying the wrong thing. Brilliant

Ilovelblue · 11/11/2015 08:18

Richtea have recorded London Spy. Hope to watch it tonight.

Thanks Nickel. I will pop round to see her tomorrow so may have an update.

pixie love your one shot. Very different to your other stories. Just one point..... it's not going to be a one shot P L E A S E. We need his thoughts (or actions!) when Molly returns.

pixieg1rl · 11/11/2015 08:21

Thanks mooj, I very nearly ran it past you first. My dad worked away a lot when I was young and I remember that forced jollity that we all did (it usually lasted a couple of hours before mum and dad had some kind of argument) before he went.

OP posts:
moojangles · 11/11/2015 08:24

kelly oh dear, hope he feels better soon. rich I recorded it so am now looking forward to it, still keep finding myself disappointed by programmes that don't live up to the hype.
dizzy hope all gets sorted soon with your house. ilove thinking of you after yesterday and ice thanks for the pics. Rest day again for me again, grrrr, but on the mend and know that I'm fortunate, especially today# lest we forget

moojangles · 11/11/2015 08:29

pixie sounds about right for us. We have learned to have our 'last' weekend about 2 weeks before deployment, after that it doesn't work for us. Prefer it when he goes on short notice. My Dad was always away too, non-forces, so I am well trained! It really hit the nail on the head x
