Lots of soldiers in uniform (formal & mtp) at Kings Cross collecting for poppies. Just working out which one can take me my custom

I'd share your money out between them all pixie.

Woof your last chapter is hilarious!

Ilovelblue · 29/10/2015 17:20

I wonder if soldiers selling poppies is a marketing ploy like when I see somebody collecting for guide dogs for the blind who actually has a guide dog with them. I can't resist the dog..... just be careful pixie, don't go down on your knees and start stroking the soldiers which is what I do with the dogs!

pixieg1rl · 29/10/2015 17:33

A little girl with blonde ringlets was totally hogging the one with a shiny Sam Browne belt like the one CJ wore at Smurf's funeral.

Looking at their faces (which I did eventually) they were all so bloody young

Ooh lucky girl pix the only poppy sellers round here are WW2 vets ie. over 70. How much would you put in Foxy's box if he was selling I wonder...

Thanks ilove for the lovely review Flowers

KellyHb · 29/10/2015 19:49

Oo great pic pix. I always get a rush of excitement when I see male poppy sellers in combat uniform in the correct age demographic. (check out my posh word). The ones round here are mostly young teenagers.

If Foxy was asking for money woof I'd give him a few notes as long as I could get some cuppage in return from him Grin

Richtea19 · 29/10/2015 20:13

woof brilliant final chapter, you are so funny and a fabulous story teller!

pixie I love your commitment to all things Our Girl! I will be on the look out tomorrow for similar soldiers at Victoria Station!

KellyHb · 29/10/2015 20:24

Imagine rich while at Victoria Station, you saw BA helping out with the poppy collectors esp if he's coming back for S2 and wanted to help with the army. Smile

One of the ladies on OG Facebook saw Georgia Foote and Giovanni today while collecting in London. Georgia recognised her as they had met before at the play Lawrence Walker did in London in May and Georgia went with SW.

pixieg1rl · 29/10/2015 20:33

Well Rich, my findings for poppy collection today was that Oxford Street was covered by the RAF, with a couple of Navy blokes down Marble Arch end, and Kings Cross was covered by the army.

Oh why don't I live closer to London...Hmm

cjwoofwoof · 29/10/2015 20:42

Ditto kel I'm thinking if Foxy was asking for a rather large donation the least he could do would be to allow a five-minute cuppage session, with perhaps a nipple stroke if paper notes were proffered. Now that's the kind of demographic that would get my purse fully opened Grin

Thanks Rich for your high praise, I wasn't very happy with the final chapter and kept rewriting it, so I'm glad you enjoyed it after all Flowers

KellyHb · 29/10/2015 20:59

We'd probably need all hands on deck copping a feel of Foxys woof I've got a feeling they'd be a ton weight. He doesn't do anything by halves..

Richtea19 · 29/10/2015 21:01

Hey kelly you are always welcome to come to me for a sleepover! We can whiz up to London to check out the Poppy sellers at every mainline station.. Like the Monopoly board!!!Grin

KellyHb · 29/10/2015 21:18

Yes! I would love to do that rich. I would be like a kid in a candy shop looking at all the potential choice. Smile

cjwoofwoof · 29/10/2015 21:18

Hmm I'm liking the sound of Foxy's Woof kel - if his woof is that heavy we may need to call orph as cuppage backup Grin

KellyHb · 29/10/2015 21:43

Haha. So funny. Foxys woof. Just read that back what I wrote.

orphs quiet today. I wonder if she spied BA last night and he took her back to his place to help get his fitness levels up for S2?

Nickel45 · 29/10/2015 23:22

I've just been watching that Michel Roux Kitchen Impossible. Did anyone see it? It made me cry ... what an amazing man MR is, and the youngsters learning to work in the kitchens.

Nickel45 · 29/10/2015 23:23

Ooh, imagine if Orphan has been whisked away by BA .... Wink

KellyHb · 29/10/2015 23:54

Has anyone watched a comedy called Catastrophe on Channel 4 Tuesday nights? Its hilarious. Heard so much about the comedy and caught up on Tuesday's episode (1st programme of the 2nd series) and need to watch the first. Carrie Fisher was in tonight's episode and she's so funny. Smile

KellyHb · 29/10/2015 23:56

I saw the programme advertised nickel but haven't watched it. Michel does seem like a nice man. I was watching him in a series last year.

Dizzydots · 30/10/2015 07:52

Morning. Can confirm St Pancras was flooded with army poppy sellers yesterday too, didn't spot any Foxys there either :(. Apparently it was national poppy day - not sure I've heard of that one before ? Couple of days in London this week then home last night for Spectre with the family, which we all really enjoyed and DC still looking fine, I'd definitely recommend a viewing, despite being a bit put off after seeing him in interviews recently. Thought of you woof, new film starring Tom Hardy on its way, can't remember the name though 50 something brain strikes again

Dizzydots · 30/10/2015 07:55

Google tells me it's The Revenant - Tom and Leo star :)

KellyHb · 30/10/2015 08:48

Morning.

Another rainy day. I think it's rained all week here.

We didn't do any dishes last night so I've got a huge pile to do. We need a dishwasher in this house.

Taking DD to a Halloween disco later. Quite looking forward to getting her dressed up and painting her face etc.

Sounds like you had a nice few days dizzy. It seems like most of MN ladies have been to London in the last couple of weeks. Smile

Dizzydots · 30/10/2015 09:03

And not a BA sighting between us Confused

Richtea19 · 30/10/2015 09:04

Morning, dull, windy wet here too! I'm looking forward to my day up in London, but don't like the weather! My eyes will be pealed for all things BA/OG, although after a few glasses of prosecco everyone will look the same Grin.

Enjoy all your Halloween activities, I miss the days of getting the boys ready and using fake blood, however I don't miss trying to get it off the settee when they would throw themselves down and wipe their little faces on the cushions, grrrrrr!

I still haven't got round to watching Cuffs, also have the 2nd part of Vikings to watch.

Any news from orphan since the concert? Maybe she got whisked away!!!!
