No news. I'm thinking rich that orph and BA must've gone to ground together somewhere. Smile

Watched SAS last night and Foxy is so adorable to as well as sexy. He's got lovely 'cuddle me' eyes he was showing when he was being interviewed I thought. Those skin tight black tops were doing nothing for my blood pressure Wink

MaddieMoo82 · 30/10/2015 09:21

Morning all. No news from orph do you think she is still holed up with BA?!
How's the potty training going kelly?
Just putting foxy on the tv as didn't get round to it earlier in the week whilst DS is in the circle of neglect aka the jumperoo!
Fab chapter woof, like the 3 door challenge at the end Grin

MaddieMoo82 · 30/10/2015 09:26

That pumped up trainee stuntman is already irritating!

KellyHb · 30/10/2015 10:20

Haha. Laughing at your circle of neglect comment mads. We had a jumperoo for ours but when we only had DD she used to jump in it for so long, she just used to fall asleep in it. Could that work for your DS?

We could only put the twins in for 5 minutes max because they would fight over who would go in it next Confused

Potty training not gone too badly actually mads. Not many accidents on the floor etc. The worry will be next week sending them in in just underpants. They're bound to wet themselves on the way into nursery and lots of times in nursery I bet. I can see lots of dirty washing every day Confused
Its not helped I've had chronic toothache all week Sad

Ilovelblue · 30/10/2015 10:28

Kelly I've not been anywhere near London. Currently sitting in the office on a conference call not really knowing what most folk are on about so taking the opportunity to dip into here.

One of my colleagues has carved seven pumpkins and the money raised goes towards our charity fundraising. They are amazing - don't know how he has the patience. They are all so intricate.

Sorry about your tooth - not managed to get an appointment at the dentist yet?

I'm struggling with my shoulder at the moment. I had a small procedure on it about this time last year with the threat of an operation if it didn't work. It's been ok so far so I am wondering whether I've jarred it with all the garden work over the past two weeks or whether an operation is really going to be on the cards. The only plus point is that we get private healthcare from work so if necessary, it would be done quite quickly.

MaddieMoo82 · 30/10/2015 10:40

Ah rubbish about your tooth kelly and fingers crossed for next week with the twins.
DS loves his jumperoo but won't sleep in it. If he gets tired he starts screeching and squarking till I take him out! Keeps him busy for 20 mins though.
Awwww loved foxy in the last bit of SAS. When he stated talking about his ptsd Sad wanted to give him and his groin a big hug Wink

KellyHb · 30/10/2015 10:51

No we haven't all gone ilove. I would love to though for a couple of days and see various places I didn't get to see last time I went a couple of years ago especially The National Gallery.

The dentists had no appts for this week at all even emergency ones which is shocking. I'll try again on Monday, get the tooth out and change dentists.

Hope your shoulder feels better soon ilove. Yes things are done quicker privately. DH had to have something done and he just went through his work's healthcare too.

KellyHb · 30/10/2015 10:52

I know mads he looked all vulnerable. Aww.

kuiakaituhi · 30/10/2015 12:14

Hi, all. Have been away from home for a day or two. Something a bit different in the military line. My oldest DS, a doctor, has been in Europe for three weeks at Rugby. His wife is from Yorkshire so has been doing family stuff...her parents both have dementia, very sad.
Currently in France at WW1 gravesites. Had a really moving photo of him this morning with an arm around the tombstone of his great great uncle who came from the South Island of NZ and who died of his wounds three months after leaving home on '...a great adventure." Had just turned 21, my Grandad's brother. This afternoon DS was at Passchendaele where 4000 NZ boys died in just one day, alongside countless others from all parts of Europe and the Commonwealth. He said he couldn't help crying, this from the guy who plays Mr Tough in an Intensive Care Unit.

I guess it brings home the daily reality of military life. Food for thought that so many of our boys died so far away from home.

cjwoofwoof · 30/10/2015 14:55

Welcome back kuia that's a very sad story about your great uncle - it really brings it home to you when you visit these places. Our school takes a group of 6th formers to Auschwitz every year and it's always a harrowing yet poignant experience for them. My son wasn't picked unfortunately, but he went to Berlin a couple of years ago with school and visited the Jewish museum there which he found quite upsetting yet compelling, if you see what I mean. It's right we should never forget the sacrifices made by past generations.

On a lighter note GOOD LUCK to the luscious All Blacks tomorrow, I have high expectations they and their wonderful thighs will win easily. My DS is annoyed that he's got an away football match just down the road from Twickenham tomorrow so traffic is going to be murder. He's got to leave at 11am to make sure he arrives in time for a 3pm ko, poor soul. It's such a relief that he's now driving so I get to avoid such inconveniences - I may even take a sneaky peak at the rugby if I'm home alone, just for research purposes of course Grin

cjwoofwoof · 30/10/2015 14:59

Ditto kel and mads to Foxy's vulnerable look - almost like CJs in the hospital bed, but not quite as lickable. I just wanted to cuddle Foxy to my ample bosom and stroke his hair, poor guy as well as rip off that skin tight top as my next move

kuiakaituhi · 30/10/2015 15:44

A little while back I posted a picture of Willie Apiata, VC, our much loved Afghanistan hero, Woof, I think you liked his look. He is with the All Blacks as team support in London. Lots of photos of him in the papers over here. He looks a lot like Sohail. His courage was epic and we are in awe of him. Just a shy and quiet country Maaori boy from a very ordinary background, probably a lot like the 2 Section boys in OG.

4000 deaths on one day for a tiny country like ours caused all sorts of problems into the future. It has been tremendous to see the way in which our young people have taken the war stories to heart and keep our ANZAC traditions alive. Is the same true in England?

Thanks for your good wishes, its ironic that we have to go all the way to London to play the Aussies, for the fourth time this year.
Will catch up on my writing after this weekend. I have three things half finished. Very funny final Jamesland Chapter. Haven't thought about Captain Mainwaring for years. I love Dad's Army, still, esp Mr Jones the butcher.

cjwoofwoof · 30/10/2015 16:02

Ha! Does that mean you'd opt for Door No.3 then kuia ??!!

Those Aussies shouldn't even be in the final, Scotland were robbed!!, so I hope the Kiwis wipe the floor with 'em Grin

Ah yes, lovely Willie Apiata, it may actually be worth my while dropping my DS at his footy then accidentally taking a wrong turn and driving into Twickenham and straight into the changing rooms whilst looking for the Ladies toilets

kuiakaituhi · 30/10/2015 16:53

God, no! Always CJ's door. You're right about the Scots. That was really unjust. Have never seen a referee leave the field so fast.

Have you ever perused Dan Carter in his Jockeys? He might be worth your while seeking out for some definitive eye candy among the All Blacks.

orphan · 30/10/2015 16:57

Don't know what's going on with my phone but it keeps deleting posts I'm trying to send. Censoring them perhaps?!

Anyway what I was trying to say is sadly no sightings of BA, so all the time I spent back combing my ladygarden and tying bows in it was for nothing. Dd and friends had a brilliant time though and were close enough to be within sweat flicking distance of the band.

kuia this summer we visited the British cemetery at Bayeux. Very moving to see all the nationalities buried there including many Germans. There were so many gravestones that obviously we didn't read them all, but I noticed several 17 year olds.

orphan · 30/10/2015 17:03

woof does Door No. 1 have a sturdy Chubb lock fitted, cos once I'm inside I won't be wanting anyone else to come knocking and spoiling my fun?

As for Captain Mainwaring, didn't you once win a lookalike competition? It was the authenticity of your tache that really impressed the judges.

kuiakaituhi · 30/10/2015 17:19

Hi, Orphan my great great uncle is buried at Bailleul Communal Cemetery near Ypres and close to the Belgian Border. My son was there and also at Passchendaele, said it moved him to tears to see so many graves of kids who were slaughtered. He went to the nightly Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Bridge in Ypres, too, said that was very powerful. Is usually a 'tough guy', deals with accidents, drug overdoses, violent assaults, the whole nine yards as a matter of routine, was very affected by what he has seen this week.
You're right about all the nationalities buried in places like that...they were all the DS of some woman who loved them. Just a waste.

I went to the 90th anniversary of the Landings at Gallipoli, some ten years ago. That's almost a pilgrimage for Kiwis and Aussies, so many died there as well. I saw graves of 17 year old boys there too, but the one that has always stayed with me was one of a 14 year old...reminds me of Rolex Boy when I think about it. Lots of colonial boys lied about their ages to join the big 'adventure'.

Kelly Sorry to hear you have bad toothache, Old wive's treatment, helps a lot, is CLOVE OIL. Put a very small drop on cotton wool wipe over tooth, even put it into the cavity for a short time. If you can't get oil, carefully chew a couple of dried cloves. Natural anaesthetic.

orphan · 30/10/2015 17:35

Yes, kuia I've seen the Last Post at the Menin Gate and it's impossible not to cry.

I bought one of the ceramic poppies from the Tower of London installation and it's planted in my garden. I thought the sea of poppies was an incredibly powerful visualisation of those who died and I love that my poppy was one of those I saw.

kuiakaituhi · 30/10/2015 17:51

What a treasure to have, orphan. The sea of poppies was an amazing sight to see. There was a lot of coverage on our news here.
This year was the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli landings on April 25th and throughout the country schoolkids raised white crosses in Fields of Remembrance, one for each life lost from the local area. At our school there was a lot of research done about the people who died and a great deal of work and thought went into the Fields. The NZ Army sent two officers to preside over the ceremony which the senior students planned and organised. We were very proud of them.
James (my DS, not the captain one) had the same response to the Menin Gate ceremony as you did.

cjwoofwoof · 30/10/2015 18:12

orph I thought we agreed not to discuss the Dads Army lookalike competition winners because you were not very proud of being crowned Best Female Version of Godfrey, especially when you'd been practicing your Scottish accent and staring eyes of Frazer Grin

orphan · 30/10/2015 19:02

Yes woof but the upside of my win was that I became the face of Oil of Olay - the before pictures. And I got a side deal promoting Braun eyebrow trimmers.

orphan · 30/10/2015 19:05

Just heard on the radio about a mix up resulting in sending out to schools erotic versions of Little Red Riding Hood! I wonder if they were illustrated? Shock

pixieg1rl · 30/10/2015 20:43

Watching the men's gymnastics, there was a bloke from the USA who was right up woof's street

cjwoofwoof · 30/10/2015 21:20

Ooh pix was he Lego shaped and bulbous??

KellyHb · 30/10/2015 21:39

Evening all.

Finally a proper sit down.

DD enjoyed the Halloween disco. She looked like a very scary witch indeed and loved the magician. Although a young boy who was a volunteer for the guillotine trick was fed up when the blades kept getting stuck just above his head Confused

Shame about the BA no show orph. Never mind, he's maybe at home polishing his army helmet ready for S2.
