who's watching?

I'm sad that we won't have Nick this time. And I hope Baggsy gets a tribute of some sort.

I used to work with someone like Brett. She had no common sense whatsoever. The amount of time she placed patients under great risk was ridiculous- for example forcing a tube fed patient to drink fluids when they have no ability to swallow simply because she had come back from hospital with an incorrect care plan.

BertrandRussell · 29/10/2015 11:12

God, Jack Dee was foul to Susan Calman!

lorelei9 · 29/10/2015 15:04

was he, I didn't see it? What did he say to her?

OP posts:
BertrandRussell · 29/10/2015 15:13

Didn't acknowledge any of her funny lines, cut her off to talk to the other two and made a tedious, old school anti Scottish joke,

BondJayneBond · 29/10/2015 15:20

I miss Dara Sad

I thought that the woman on the You're Fired panel last night (Susan Calman??) was really good.

lorelei9 · 29/10/2015 15:21

Bertrand - what a pity, I'd expect better of Jack Dee, esp wrt anti-Scottish jokes - what's the point of that?!

SconeForAStroll · 29/10/2015 15:25

I ended up watching it all on catch up, and I feel like I am turning PO.

Why the Fuck is Jack Dee allowed to be so fucking disrespectful? Dara could tease with a gleam in his eye, but Jack Bastard Dee is just blatantly rude.

I really liked Susan Calman and I also like Romesh. They are both capable of intelligent witty conversation.

lorelei9 · 29/10/2015 16:13

PO??

Romesh is very funny.

GruntledOne · 29/10/2015 18:18

I really didn't see anything rude about Jack Dee's approach to Susan Calman. I suspect that people may not be getting his very deadpan style of humour.

BertrandRussell · 29/10/2015 18:21

I do get the deadpan- how did that produce the tedious, dated "Scottish people don't recognise vegetables" comment? And him blanking Calman but not the others?

LookAtMeGo · 29/10/2015 18:49

I didn't think he was rude, it's just his style. And I didn't find the vegetable joke offensive.

BertrandRussell · 29/10/2015 19:02

But so tedious and 1970s. And lazy. And I do think he was noticeably ruder to Calman than anyone else.

lorelei9 · 29/10/2015 19:27

Oh hang on
The thing about vegetables makes me wonder if he was trying to take the piss out of a stereotype but if he is, I would say that's also outdated IYSWIM

OP posts:
BertrandRussell · 29/10/2015 19:29

Oh, so he was being rude ironically! Grin

lorelei9 · 29/10/2015 20:30

Yes and your reaction sums up why it doesn't work Grin but I have noticed comedians tryong it. Rule one is probably...don't mix it with a deadpan face!

Brett was in the Navy not Army and that is how service people are, they are trained to follow orders exactly so you can hardly complain that that is what the do.

Romesh is brilliant, couldn't he have presented You're Fired. Quite sad Ruth went as she was likeable unlike most of them. I actually want to punch Natalie, which sounds awful and Karren seems to have the measure of the godawful Selina who is unbelievably sneery. I've been put right off Karren now I know she voted for the tax credit cuts. But should have know, she is a bloody Tory peer!

Roussette · 29/10/2015 22:12

this is interesting, I'm very surprised she wasn't fired.

Haggisfish · 29/10/2015 23:05

Ooooooh! I thought it's all filmed ages ago? If not, I'm surprised selina is being so 'candid'.

GruntledOne · 30/10/2015 07:34

If that story is correct, Selina may find that a very silly move. Most people who come over as total idiots or worse on the show can and do have the sense to redeem themselves by turning up on "You're Fired" and taking the piss out of themselves. By refusing to do it when it was part of her contract she comes over as very unprofessional and immature. She may find that gets reflected in the editing of the main show, and I doubt that "You're Fired" will have a problem with it. Remember the tub of lard on HIGNFY?

Roussette · 30/10/2015 08:09

Yes, she's shooting herself in the foot. If you go on a show like this, you have to play the game, whether that be Xfactor, Apprentice etc. Otherwise you just come across as a bit of a primadonna flouncing off etc. I can't work out how she can't go on "You're Fired", breaking a contract surely will cost her somewhere. Also slagging off Shuggar and his team on Twitter does seem a bit childish.

Haggisfish · 30/10/2015 08:11

Absolutely. Just shows her true character, though!

BYOSnowman · 30/10/2015 09:05

It was filmed a while ago but you're fired is filmed 'live'

howtorebuild · 30/10/2015 10:02

Clearly she has shown you don't have to play the game.

Following ordered is fine if you are a Navy employee as stated above, he is no entrepreneur as he is lacking in skills required by his specification carp, he is limited, confused and angry when others point out the bigger picture his navy suited character is blinkered to.

bcngran · 30/10/2015 11:37

Just wondered, why does Selina wear a fairy outfit all the time?
