I'm guessing Jean couldn't cope with her bipolar and maybe had another child so had it adopted and was ashamed and she doesn't want Stacey to find out and the key unlocks something with paperwork in that tells the truth.

That key didn't have to be the same one, it could have been a copy that Kyle has as well. Not sure how that would fit in with my theory though.

Alfie and Kat returning isn't a secret. The spin off series coming next year has been well documented and there were a lot of loose ends still when they left.

i thought they had a snog when he had just got with shabs, which was around feb time, when shabs had sex with kush then felt bad and said no more, then months later found out she was preg

Wasn't Stacey a few weeks behind Shabs in her pregnancy? I reckon the baby is Max's. That might be more wishful thinking though, I'd hate for it to be Kush's.

I'd feel sorry for Stacey's kid if Max is the father of the baby. They'd be half siblings, and one of them would be calling Max 'daddy', while the other one would call him 'grandpa'. Image their family tree project at school!
