Ronnie was being her normal Psycho Ronnie and asking Linda what they were going to do about Dean. Linda said he wasn't her problem anymore and Ronnie said something along the lines of, "Yes he is and if you want help fixing it, I'm in!" Or something. It was a bit confusing tbh.

FFS I despise the dreaded Ronnie. Why can't she stop interfering in Roxie's life and get a life of her own?

An equivalent house in zone 3 east London to the one in Albert Square would cost more like £500 - £600K, but it's still a hell of a lot of money.

liney, I missed the bit about Vincent and the house buying to be honest, I cant imagine the places around the square would be worth that much - was it the one Kim was eyeing up ( and slagging off) on Tuesday, grey front? I lose track who lives where and how rents or buys - houses seem to come and go. that close to London , it may well be that much, but none of them seem that rich? really don't know.
Ronnie is going to team up with Mick carter to see off Dean, hopefully once and for all. maybe Roxy will end up with the salon and get her extensions sorted out.
who looks after the kids on the square - Ronnie was swanning around minus poor matthew ( Charlie has disappeared) no sign of Amy or baby Oliver - Sharons boy could have gone to Portugal to visit 'uncle' Grant for all anyone cares about him, poor boy. I really hate how they deal with child care in EE, it makes people think looking after kids and babies is easy.

They still must earn fabulous salaries in those bars, cafés and shops though and on those stalls.

Albert Square is based on Fassett Square in E8. I found a place that was for sale recently for 750k: www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-27082738.html It looks just like an Eastenders residence from the outside!

I think they did do a vague storyline where Carol got pissed off because they were turning a house into expensive flats. To be fair though, I think most people have either inherited their places or share with parents or family. Patrick and the older characters must have brought their homes back when they were super cheap, and Pat's place have taken in rent free waifs and strays for years. I suppose that Stacey and some of the younger characters are council tenants or getting housing benefit. I've thought to much about this.

Maybe they should have all the houses snapped up by some anonymous Russian for a bit more authenticity.

Who is looking after all the kids ? Lola has gone, Whit's working in the pub. Ronnie thinks it's dull being a single mum yet has no childcare issues getting a job in a bar and going out to the pub.

notquitehuman. money on EE is always airbrushed out the way - I know Ian has several business's and inherited that place from his nan, not sure. I think Max bought his place when he turned up with Tanya and co - still must have been loads back then though
. Dot has been in the same place for years, but she is a council tenant I believe. I cant remember who got Pat's house - however, now Carol has ridden off into the sunset I don't know who pays the bills there now , must be Sonia I guess although carol didn't own that place. Stacey is renting ( they don't mention the council much in EE) but Kat and Alfie paid a years rent up front for her - that must be up soon. Ronnie's home, no idea what she does. the grey one being done up, I didn't recognise that at all, might have been Max's old place? it had stairs, so could be. Dean used to live where Stacey and martin do, looked liked there were other flats in the block too. Dean was kicked out - not sure where he lives. Patrick has had his place for years, it was a B and B for a while, so must be fair size. Buster was privately renting a place with Shirley - he conned the agent, but not been seen since so no idea how Shirley pays the rent and bills for that place. he was meant to be running a fish stall but that hasn't happened yet. the carters all squeeze into the Vic - phil and Sharon have a house, phil is so loaded , its probably not even mortgaged.
Its all a mystery, Denise had money worries for a while, that was forgotten about when Kim came back. Patrick seems a lot better now too, and hasn't had a proper story in years either. he doesn't work, so must be on benefits. like you, I do get annoyed that issues that affect people in real life do not seem to even get a mention on soaps!

Dean's dad was meant to be Kevin ( who died) he was once married to Shirley but also married to Denise too. He is the dad of Dean's sister Carly and brother Jimbo, who died of CF years before they came to the square.
however, it emerged this year that Buster Bucket of fish is actually Dean's dad, making Denise just a non blood relative by marriage I suppose(?) !!Denise did have a lot of time for Dean and cant believe he is Linda's rapist.

They do occasionally have a storyline where a character will be struggling - like Whitney and closeeyes not being able to afford a place, but they can usually magic up some money from somewhere. If those two end up buying, or even renting a place on their budget in London i'll call bullshit.

Oh yeah, Denise was skint too wasn't she? And fuck knows where Shirley and Brushstrokes got a deposit from. It cost me about 3k to move house once we had paid referencing fees, deposit, movers etc and I live outside London.

(I might be a teeny bit obsessed with these storylines because I'm a reluctant renter who is struggling to buy and I hate how easy it looks on TV!)

linda said to Ronnie that she had made peace with what happened and wasn't going to help Ronnie. Ronnie said she wasn't asking for Linda help but when linda was ready that Ronnie would help her

Jack owned Max's house, not sure if he still does. Max and Tanya were renting when they first moved in. When Max left after the Stacey affair was discovered Jack bought it and Tanya stayed living there.

Janine owned Carol's house, again I'm not sure if she still does.
