And there we are....Christine

mrsscarlettbutler · 19/10/2015 20:16

Finally!! Am so pleased it's not GiantBaby.

LineyReborn · 19/10/2015 20:20

Got to hand it to the Les actor. It's quite poignant.

justgoandgetalife · 19/10/2015 20:25

Oh for the love of gawd! Now the funeral director likes dressing up in womens clothes? Why can't they just give it a rest with the sensationalist storylines? I'm no prude but this is meant to be light entertainment not - lets just take every issue under the sun that needs to be brought out into the open and weave it into any old character.

VashtaNerada · 19/10/2015 20:27

Les and Pam are great, handling the storyline really well. I'm not sure I'm ready to meet Christine though!!

MagpieCursedTea · 19/10/2015 20:36

That was actually some of Les's better acting. Calm and almost understated. I was expecting much worse!

southeastdweller · 19/10/2015 20:45

I could almost feel Pam's hurt about Les keeping such a big part of him a secret for 40-odd years. I agree Roger Sloman as Les was good tonight.

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/10/2015 22:34

i'm Christine. Christine is me

Finally !!!!

Am I the only one who wants to meet Christine? Grin

I find Pam sickly naive. Supposedly she worked in social services which is where she met Claudette, I find her attitude 'you disgust me' very unworldly.
I was hoping she would express her sadness at the deception rather than her disgust, since I think he had tried to explain himself quite well.
Mind you, all that 'make memories' rubbish with Donna last week was fairly vomit inducing.
She's not my favourite...did you guess.

southeastdweller · 19/10/2015 22:42

Maybe she meant she was disgusted because Les hid that side of himself throughout their marriage?

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 19/10/2015 22:45

I lost all sympathy for her when she gave us the horrendous mental image of Les in women's M&S pants. Eugh. Pass the brain bleach!

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 19/10/2015 22:45

Les in any pants is bad enough but she made it so real specifying them..

TotalConfucius · 19/10/2015 22:57

I'd like to think so southeast.
DH reckons if it were him he'd take the in for a penny route and go at least Agent Provocateur.

notquitehuman · 19/10/2015 23:48

I forgot that Nick Cotton came back from the dead too. Sigh.

I reckon Pam will come round to the cross dressing thing. She stood up for Les to their boring grandson. It's not like it'll impact their marriage in any huge way.

AGnu · 20/10/2015 00:47

YY, Pam's reeling at the moment & lashing out in her confusion but she'll soon ask to meet Christine so she can be a part of that part of Les's life too. If there's one thing Pam can't bear it's not knowing everything about everyone! Wink

I'm looking forward to next year already... Stacey's numerous storylines will have resolved, Kat & Alfie will have actually left for good & Dean will been dealt with... hopefully...!

I loved Nana Moon & fancied Spencer but then I liked Alfie back then too. I'm much older & wiser now.

cherrytree63 · 20/10/2015 07:17

Was that the vicar in the coffin? If so I'm surprised Dot hasn't mentioned him dieing!

MagpieCursedTea · 20/10/2015 07:41

I enjoyed what appeared to be June Brown's thinly veiled disgust at the Cathy storyline when she was talking about Nick.

SheHasAWildHeart · 20/10/2015 10:30

boring grandson young, single, good-looking and living in London and all he does is moon over Ben and hang out with his grandparents :/ He should apply to X Factor, he has the perfect sob story.

CrapBag · 20/10/2015 10:45

Are Kat and Alfie leaving for good though? I know they are coming back briefly but they always pop up again when they leave.

Not looking forward to more of Stacey. I cannot stand the po faced interfering cow. I'm surprised she doesn't get on better with Sonia, birds of a feather and all that!

It was funny when Mick found it highly amusing that Linda was getting fed up of her mum, until she announced she was staying until the new year, their faces were a picture. At least Elaine brings a bit of light heartedness to it.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 20/10/2015 12:02

I get the feeling the "Halloween special" is going to involve danny dyre dressed as Herman Munster.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 20/10/2015 12:19

I must come from a really weird family because they don't bat an eyelid at what i wear.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 20/10/2015 12:20

and Ians old flats have magically been rebuilt!

notquitehuman · 20/10/2015 12:32

I forgot about the tower blocks. Vaguely remember them from watching Eastenders as a kid. It's certainly more realistic than everyone living in gorgeous terraced houses with infinite bedrooms.

SheHasAWildHeart · 20/10/2015 12:58

I can't believe that Ian and Jane aren't even slightly suspicious of Kathy wanting £50k or that the police haven't done a follow-up visit.
