I think it's realistic that Dean has a charming and likeable side. A lot of abusers are the same after all, since they use the charm to lure in vulnerable partners. It's a bit ridiculous that now he's a rapist he has to be all stubbly chinned and evil eyed.

The thing is when someone was asking Pam loads of questions a while ago, she told them that her son died and she helped him didn't she? Then she implied that she was lying when she told Les. Oh it was Emma the cop and they were nervous about her asking questions.
