Anyone watching this, I like Suranne Jones so I'm hoping it's good, but she is one paranoid woman, maybe she has good reasons, we'll wait and see Smile

I think all the actors are doing pretty well with weird characters and a weird script

MajesticWhine · 01/10/2015 10:18

Oh my god I really hope you're wrong. I don't think they're going to kill her. The almost drowning was Gemma's low point and now it's all going to be fine. I am hoping for her to come away from this having ruined Simon and saved her professional life. And really hoping somebody will look after that poor boy.

TheSpottedZebra · 01/10/2015 10:24

There are so many loose ends that the final episode will have to be jam packed!

Agree that there has to be more to the Mary thing. She was so unsympathetic. What had Gemma done to deserve that? Was she somehow responsible for her parents' car accident?

Is it to do with what is home? Gemma had left her village after her parents died. She went to Scary London for a bit but eventually settled in that village, in a house she loved and felt was her sanctuary/proof shed made it, but with people who deep down don't care about her. Hmmm.

Panicmode1 · 01/10/2015 10:28

Haven't RTFT (sorry), but have only just twigged that the French house is called "The White Stone" - so the money must be from Suzy?

I am like Hackedabove - I don't really like it, don't like Gemma at all and can't really feel sorry for her, but want to know what happens!

2rebecca · 01/10/2015 10:41

I've just watched episode 1 as I joined on ep 2 and realised the bloke who I thought was an administrator is another GP. The whole GP storyline is total bollocks. I have many friends and colleagues who are GP partners and the senior partner is just the longest serving partner usually. The retiring senior partner doesn't get to appoint the next one. Once he's retired he's no longer a partner and the partnership agreement is drawn up by the existing partners. They decide who the senior partner is, if they decide to have one. The bloke doesn't behave like a partner of the other 2 he has no rapor at all with them.
I agree that Ros isn't any sort of friend but she doesn't seem to have any friends. If she's just a GP I don't get how she funds her husband's business if he doesn't actually make money and is in debt. She's an NHS GP not private plastic surgeon, not that she behaves at all like a GP.
It's all nonsense.
Has the blond daughter forged her father's signature as Simon forged hers?
It really is a load of rubbish plotwise.
Why when they were getting ready for bed was it still light outside (shining through curtain)when they don't live in Northern Scotland?
Poor wee boy.

mazylou · 01/10/2015 11:26

Anyone notice the nursery rhyme was quoted on the RateMyDoctor thingy?

M4blues · 01/10/2015 12:13

Yes but whoever thought It meant Peter rather than stone is also correct. It comes from the bible referring to St Peter as the Rock.

Anyway, I think she might die too. Quite a twist as its leading up to her getting revenge. I also think the money is coming from Suzy. I think 2 things last night was helping the viewer to be ok with Gemma ending up dead. Firstly, showing her as very selfish regarding Jack's loss. Secondly her total self absorption completely missing and ignoring poor Tom even when he calls her a 'mad bitch'.

M4blues · 01/10/2015 12:16

And actually the blonde hair on his scarf was far too blonde to be Kate's. It was more the colour of Suzy/secretary/neighbour.

aftereight · 01/10/2015 12:19

Am really looking forward to seeing how this all ends next week.
But I have a question; did Kate actually terminate the pregnancy, or did she just threaten to?

MyNameIsRonnieFuckingPickering · 01/10/2015 12:22

The son is so irritating. And why is his hair dyed?

TheImminentGin · 01/10/2015 12:28

That photo of the five of them on holiday- who took it?

There's a mystery about Gemma's parents death.

I was a bit shocked at her treatment of her son, after all it was the sight of his football stadium visit on the calendar which made her allow Simon to stay.

Adventuregame · 01/10/2015 12:33

I totally didn't click that that the name of the house in France was White Stone ! Interesting - who is the mystery investor ???

M4blues · 01/10/2015 12:40

Oh yes, TheimminentGin. I thought that last night too. Could it have been Ros taking the picture?

LovelyFriend · 01/10/2015 13:04

I thought the termination was cancelled so Kate is now PG?

MyNameIsRonnieFuckingPickering · 01/10/2015 13:05

At the showdown in the bar last week I think she told him she'd had the termination.

Zucker · 01/10/2015 13:09

In the bar bust up between Kate and Simon, it was insinuated by her that she had gone ahead and had a termination. Nothing confirmed or denied as far as I remember.

I'm looking forward to the oh so awkward dinner table conversation next week!

Hadron21 · 01/10/2015 13:25

I'm so glad I've found you lot as I was so confused about who was on the photos.

I've also just realised its called Dr Foster as in 'Dr Foster went to Gloucester in a shower of rain, stepped in a puddle.... '. Is Simon going to disappear into a body of water and never be seen again???

2rebecca · 01/10/2015 13:27

Maybe he was just pretending not to be able to swim and will drown her.

Littleredant · 01/10/2015 13:34

Soz to butt and thanks for the opportunity to comment as no one I know irl is watching this.
I think that Tom will go apeshit and kill them all.... At least kill Dr F & Simon. I'm not sure I'd convict him as they're awful parents.
I also think there's something significant about the development. It used to be the school, 'they' (Roz, Simon, Kate's Mum etc) all went there. What about the hypochondriac patient - he's been bullied by the gang? Something went badly wrong there all those years ago.
Whatever, looking forward to seeing what happens at the dinner party. Simon & Kate deserve the squirming horribleness!!

Littleredant · 01/10/2015 13:41

should be.. soz to butt in

UntilTheCowsComeHome · 01/10/2015 13:44

I think Kate's dad knows and is having an affair with the secretary. He was on the holiday with her and he was the one taking the photos.

2rebecca · 01/10/2015 13:51

I think the hypochondriac patient could be the mystery reviewer. The awful personal hygiene could be when she told him she was infectious. It wouldn't really fit with his personality but nothing else fits in the GP surgery stuff either.

Lottapianos · 01/10/2015 13:51

If anyone's keeping score, I think Simon is quite hot again now. I went off him last week but thought he was looking good this week. He's a horrible sleazeball of course but I definitely would

I really enjoyed the 'would you, wouldn't you?' debate over the accountant last week Smile

Tiggeryoubastard · 01/10/2015 13:54

I'm still hanging on, though only in the hope that it improves.
The thing wrong with this programme (apart from the crap plot, inconsistencies ect) is that none of the characters is likeable. So I don't care who's doing who or what. And I certainly don't care who gets their comeuppance.

MyNameIsRonnieFuckingPickering · 01/10/2015 13:55

Someone said he looked like that numpty Griff Rhys Jones and he really does. It's a nay from me.
