Quick post as I'm doing washing etc.

Glad you've seen the delights of David Blakely orph. To be honest if I was supposed to be on the run and he was after me, I wouldn't even bother getting up off the settee. The quicker he found me the better. I'd position myself ready for a good handcuffing and a heavy going over. A strip search would hopefully be a requirement of his too.

Oh yes Maddie you must watch this programme soon.

Went to the playground with nursery parents. Fell off the swings and landed on my arse.

Not to be impertinent pixie but was it a soft landing?

Talking of soft arses, I'm making peach chutney from our bumper crop. This is our first good year and we've got too many to know what to do with. Friends and neighbours probably inwardly groan when they see me coming bearing yet more peaches for them.

Tried posting some photos but can't for whatever reason. It's been hot here again today but quite windy. Sampled another cake shop for quality purposes only of course. Will put a few pics on when I get home tomorrow.

Our peach tree is about 4 years old. This is def the best crop we've had from it. In fact last year we didn't have any peaches cos the flowers got done in by a late frost.

Have you seen the Spanish Riding School? I regretted not seeing a show when we were in Vienna cos you know my fascination with riding boots... I noticed Lucy Worseley's doing a programme about 'horse dancing' and visits the school. She's also trained by Poldark's stunt double.

Ouch pixie. About to relive GCSEs and give An Inspector Calls a go

Wanted to watch An Inspector Calls ... what have I missed, only just got to watching it after a completely crap day, and now the box wasn't recording. It's been one of those days!

Evening all.

What a busy afternoon after GNR. Plus washing and ironing all the extra school uniform's a pain too.

So at the GNR I was on the lookout for any Marines. Couldn't see any, not even Army (my hand was primed) until I was getting something out of a bag for DD and DH said one similar was coming past. Just missed him but shouted for DH to get a photo.

Then a bunch of more Army (I assume) came past, I went to touch one but they didn't see me however a couple more Army at the back of the small group tried to touch me back but I didn't see them-typical!! It was funny as they all shouted 'Awwww' when they missed me. Did see James Cracknell though. He's normally there every year.

Getting a snack so missed this one.

Missed hand opportunities with these but at least they did a group "Aww' for me.

Skim pickings really maddie tbh. Definitely nothing on CJ level. I did try.

My cake was the cream one with a thin layer of meringue on the bottom and a sort of creme patisserie (but even nicer) and a very light sponge on top with a few raspberries scattered. My friend's was called a Klimt cake with marzipan and nuts.

We saw the Spanish Riding School (and smelled it!) but didn't have time. To be honest, another day would have been nice.

My friend insists we try another cake tomorrow......

Have we thought how we are all going to start watching episode 1 at exactly the same time next Sun? Are we having a countdown and we all press the start button together?

Alas, I won't be able to join in as I'm out next Sunday night. I'm truly rubbish anyway at watching and posting at the same time. Instead I'll look forward to reading all your lascivious insightful comments.

Hopefully the next episode I can join in though, albeit several minutes behind everyone else no doubt.

Oh shame you can't join us orph on Sunday. You'll have a good laugh reading them back as there'll be that many posts being made at once. The Strictly one was when I was reading that back.

The cakes look divine ilove. I would find it hard to stop eating just the one. Hope you enjoyed your break away.

Grotty dark wet morning. I bet ice is having a wonderful time with sunshine.

I don't think I will be able to watch the watch along either. I'm not sure how I would manange it as I have all the episodes on my iPad and I post on MN on the ipad too. could get a bit confusing!

Ah no rich. I suppose you don't have to post but yes I could see how it could get confusing if everything's on your iPad.

Kids are taking forever with breakfast because of playing about/carrying on. Why is it kids take longer on the days you're already late.
