Thankfully I can stop baking that cake with the nail file in and cancel my booking on the Cherbourg Sealink to somehow single-handedly (& possibly double-handedly) persuade the whole French Foreign Legion to release you. Uncannily, however, I was rather looking forward to the challenge.

Good to have you back orph, I take it you managed to dispose of all the you know what's when you were over the channel. Those continentals are so much more open minded when it comes to that sort of thing.

Rupe sounds even more temperamental than he was before the holiday, maybe he's missing your lazy days on the lilo sipping cidre even more than you?

Just finished watching the manly perfection of RPJ in Persuasion. So romantic especially the kissing in Royal Crescent. Lucky Anne Elliott.

I've never seen that version. I loved the BBC Amanda Root/Ciaran Hinds one

Ditto to that Kelly. Love that version and I only watched it the other week myself. Sally Hawkins is lovely in it as well. It runs a very close second to P&P for me.

Oh Pixie I have to say that I really can't stand Ciaran Hinds. I liked Amanda Root in that version but I just don't like watching him in most things - sorry Ciaran I'm sure you're a lovely bloke! I particularly disliked a crime thing he was in on ITV with a much younger female detective and they were supposed to be attracted to each other but it was just icky as he'd been a friend of her dad's!

Also I have to admit to a partiality for RPJ in The Thirty Nine Steps (much repeated on Drama) just love a bit of Downton era spy chasing and code breaking and he had a lovely chemistry with the female lead in that as well.

Ahh you must see that version pix" its gorgeous. The chemistry's amazing between the two leads. Glad you like it too rhu*.

I'm binge watching OG right now. You know in the 1st episode when CJ's getting his blisters checked by Molly and she says 'Smurf saved my arse in that ditch and CJ then clears his throat. Is that because he's starting to notice her more in a fancying way? I've always wondered that bit.

OK that's it - someone please tweet TG and insist that RPJ gets a role in OG2 resort to bribery if necessary - perhaps he could be CJ's older and slightly wiser commanding officer. He definitely needs a part. In fact I would go so far as to say that if (cover your ears Kelly) BA doesn't return I could accept RPJ as a suitable alternative. Running for cover now!!!

I have a blister too tonight. It's been so sodding hot that the lining of my shoe has disintegrated and I think that caused the blister. Also I feel as if I've permanently wet myself as my knickers can't cope with all the perspiration.

Yep pixie all dodgy dvds safely disposed of. Had a hairy moment going through customs when our car was waved into a holding bay for closer inspection by muscly, booted officials, but they turned out to be massive fans of woof's backside catalogue and actually took a few copies themselves. Nice chaps, very friendly and took the time to help me conjugate some verbs.

kelly the house was still standing which is more than can be said of my son in the pics he showed me of him and his mates on their holiday...
Oh and my sulk is still in place you'll be glad to hear. Has BA actually been confirmed yet?

To be honest rhu the way I feel about it, I don't think I want BA to come back if there's no LT. It just spoilt it for me. Unless of course there's a cameo scene then everyone's a winner

RPJ a more than worthy replacement for CJ. Dervla Kirwan is soo lucky being his wife in RL.

I think CJ is more conscious of Molly at that moment and although he's trying to get to the bottom of what happened he also notices her more because they are in close proximity without others to witness and he seems a bit more self-conscious and even a smidgin shy?

Must add that I still really want the old cast back in spite of other suggestions.

Hee hee ilove I know that feeling. I've had embarrassing episodes when I've had to shuffle out of a restaurant abroad, clutching my bag to my backside cos I'm convinced my skirt/trousers/shorts have gone see through in the heat.

I'm not keen on Ciaran that much either, but what I liked about that version is that Anne was plain, he actually looked all weather beaten and a bit grizzly. RPG strikes me as a bit pretty and not haughty enough.

Mind you, I was very anti Toby Stephens as Mr Rochester, but he turned out the most sexy Mr R of all time.
