How did we go from Life in Squares (filmed in very poor lighting and there was just a lot of fumbling - if that is what is regarded as QS there must be some very frustrated people around) to HFW - Have you recovered mooj with those divine shots of our man have to admit even the one of AT was pleasant on the eye!

Thanks BK great to be back. On the nationality front, I think you could make a perfectly reasonable Union Jack out of Cumberland sausages, possibly from HFWs very own supplier Nick but you'll need to check with mooj to see if she's prepared to share Hugh's meat Grin

Oh what a rubbish day it's been. I know I've said we're "restructuring" in my company - such a good word and covers a multitude of sins. So far thankfully it's all been voluntary redundancies and I found out last week my ex-boss, for whom I have the ultimate respect, has decided to go. If that wasn't going to be enough, my current boss, the only other senior manager I have a great deal of respect for, has also decided to go. Not too shocked as he'll have a good package and is the right sort of age and level of seniority the powers that be want to go, but am very saddened. Makes you wonder who's going to be left! His leaving present is one I am happy to do - it needs to be done right! (Not very modest, am I?)

Spent half of the evening sorting out his leaving card. Thank goodness for funkypigeon.com!

Then my friend with the two young children (who I sometimes entertain when we make cakes) rang to have a whinge as her ex-mother in law was winding her up and stirring up trouble by telling her that her ex-husband now has a new girlfriend. (That was quick, all of four months, can men not manage on their own?) I was sort of watching Life in Squares at the time as well as doing the card - wasn't especially impressed with the programme to be honest. I hope I'm not prudish and definitely not homophobic but don't particularly like seeing two men kissing, sorry.

I think I need to go and re-read some of our ff now to cheer myself up!

Crappy news about good boss leaving ilove, but it sounds like the package on offer was too good to refuse. My ex boss got one of those, he's as happy as Larry now, fishing, doing yoga, holidaying in Thailand and drinking lots of wine (well that's how it comes across on Twitter).

We finally got a response from our restructure consultation, and much as predicted it was an exercise that needed to be seen to be done rather than much else.

Holiday is now booked. Off to Cornwall for a week, but apparently we will have wifi so MrP has taken my minimum requirements into consideration (he likes to think it's me, but I'll bet anyone good money he'll be spending half the holiday responding to work e mails). It's a shame we won't be making it up the M6 and past ilove and jen but he is keen to show me Scotland (my entire Scottish experience is the road to Stranraer and back) so maybe next year.
