OK, after freaking the bejaysus out of me with the weird trailer / advert I am intrigued and looking forward to giving this programme a viewing.

(I will have to record and watch later as I will be watching Messrs Strange and Norrell.)

Well watching it explains Jess Wright in TOWIE. She is a Synth. Fact. The hair that never moves, the vacant smile, the dead eyes.

The dad is really annoying me. Who the fuck does he think he is, undermining Laura all the time and treating her as if her opinions dont matter.

policeman has one cos his wife was injured and it was supplied by insurance co I tbink, to do physiotherapy and help out until she recovered.

His wife is getting a bit too fond of it though - did you see the way it touched her hands in the kitchen and how she jumped when her husband came home.

I get the impression that medical insurance and hospital stuff insists for people to have medical synths, so he probably has no choice in having the synth there for his wife's rehabilitation. George had no choice with his replacement synth as it was apparently a requirement of the law.

On another note, all the synths seem fairly emotionally cold and rigid (not exactly ideal for sexytime), so does anyone think they suddenly switch into Barry White luurve mode if you turn on the 18+? Would Anita start twerking like Shakira or someone to get the fellas in the mood? Seems unlikely somehow.

I want it to be cleverer. I don't understand how technology could have evolved so much to create these amazing Synths and they just end up doing people's ironing. Everyone should be driving round in hover cars. Actually driverless hover cars. And injecting freeze dried nutrients. Not baking cakes. It's all so pedestrian.

And yes, the husband replacing his wife after 5 days - with a female Synth. Technology has advanced but a woman is still the go-to for housework. And the sulky daughter whose one redeeming feature is that she is some kind of coding genius. So figure it out instead of looking sulky and puzzled and posting stuff on the internet for someone else to do.It.

b - in the future a bit

Looks like they are in London and it is NOW, which is quite exciting.

I'd have preferred it if they'd waited an episode or two while we speculated on whether the synthetics were (or could be) sentient, rather than plunging us straight into knowing that there were some who were "awake" and on the run.
