Good god.

I'll be hiding behind the couch the next two episodes.

MokunMokun · 05/06/2015 12:38

The White Walkers or "Others" are not zombies. They are strange, alien-type creatures that are very powerful. They have created an army of zombies called Wights. It's not clear what happens to the babies but in the TV show they showed the White Walker putting his finger against one and it seemed to turn it into a baby White Walker.

Narvinectralonum · 05/06/2015 12:44

The night's king was once a normal living Stark... He's not alive any more...

But I was talking about the wights who are indeed not made of ice but they represent the ice element. Just as Stoneheart and Visarion's arm aren't made of fire, but they are still fire zombies. Created by fire, representing the fire element. And so on.

Narvinectralonum · 05/06/2015 12:45

And the one thing that we do know, sadly, is the answer isn't 'aliens'. GRRM has said that several times. Magic is a possibility but aliens are not. Sadly.

PonyoLovesHam · 05/06/2015 12:55

Another fan of Trills arya theory, impressive! (and place marking Smile)

Fiderer · 05/06/2015 16:59

Agree with Trills' Arya possible story too. Especially as A Man seems to know when A Girl is lying - and thwacks her with a stick. Wonder if she can out-manoeuvre him?

I do like this GoT WikiMNipedia, I can ask all sorts Grin

AmberFool · 05/06/2015 18:08

In the book Arya does do something she is not supposed to and there are consequences...although it wasn't MTrant related.

SerJorahsSecondChoice · 05/06/2015 23:43

Exactly what I was thinking Amber!

Slightly off topic, but have any of you seen the episode of 'It's Always Sunny in Philidelphia' that the writers guest wrote? It's absolutely hilarious - one of my favourites.

Just caught up and haven't rtft. But aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrgggggghhhhhh! Zombies or not, this has reminded me why I don't like zombie films.

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 05/06/2015 23:51

And I'm glad aliens have been ruled out. That would be just silly.

AldiQ7 · 06/06/2015 09:16

I really want Lady S to make an appearance in the 'Mother's Mercy' episode.

However, thinking about who has already been using that phrase, plus reading in the Daily Mail about a logistical filming issue in season 5, which has not yet happened in the series, I think 'Mother's Mercy' will refer to something else.

Really crap attempt at being cryptic there!

AldiQ7 · 06/06/2015 09:52

Westeros and Essos are actually overrun with zombies. Ice zombies, Fire zombies, water zombies, stone zombies and coming soon - science zombies.

Oooh yes - so is Gregor Clegane going to turn into a sort of Frankinstein's monster type of thing then?

yumyumpoppycat · 06/06/2015 10:30

Lweji - of course you are right, I had forgotten Gilly's storyline - that was really awful.

Narvinectralonum · 06/06/2015 10:40

Amber I imagine they are going to conflate the chapter that has already been released from TWOW and the incident with the brother of the nights watch who isn't in the telly, and then go with the same consequences as the incident with the brother had. The way Arya gets her man in the released chapter is well icky given her book age - I hope they go with the method used in the first incident.

What I'm waiting to see any sign of, though, is her dreams. Which should have started by now.

Narvinectralonum · 06/06/2015 10:46

Aldi LH was either up the duff or only just had a baby when they filmed series 1 and they got round the problem. Cersei is still very much in play in the books I can't see them writing her out in the telly yet. But she doesn't have to be in every episode. Especially since they are brining in at least Euron and maybe the others too (although it's possible that Jorah will assume Victarian's storyline as well as Jon Connington's, I'm hoping that dragon fire will sort out his arm but if not then he could be the one to end up with a fire zombie arm, he's in the right part of the world to meet a red priest with dodgy motives...). Basically, I don't care how many written out characters' fates Jorah has to take on so long as we get to keep him. If he dies tomorrow I will be well pissed off.

From reading the synopses of the last 2 episodes it looks like we will hear tinkling bells in episode 10 so I guess things will pan out like in the book in the fighting pit tomorrow.

gingercat12 · 06/06/2015 11:52

Aldi When you have some time, would pm either what logistical issue you were referring to or the link, please. Thanks a lot

AldiQ7 · 06/06/2015 12:56

Yep, will do in a bit Smile

CitronVert · 06/06/2015 16:56

I too agree with Trills' Arya theory and have seen a set photo doing the rounds which possibly backs it up.

herfrom2doorsdown · 06/06/2015 17:34

I agree about Arya.
I'm concerned for Shireen's wellbeing, I hope Sansa gets away, I think she must do or what's the point of Brienne and Pod being there?

herfrom2doorsdown · 06/06/2015 17:35

I mean what's the point of them being there as a plot device.

Vivacia · 06/06/2015 19:38

Who are you referring to as the "water zombies"?

Narvinectralonum · 06/06/2015 19:54

In the books there are wights in the water too - that come up OUT of the water. Not that just walk into the water from the land. And I'm a bit suspicious of all those what is dead can never die Ironborn who have been drowned then resuscitated too ... But mainly the ones in the water between hardhome and Eastwatch. Basically the whole place is in the grip of a zombie apocalypse but people aren't noticing because at the moment there aren't that many of them...or where they are massing in numbers there aren't that many humans. But when they decide to strike.... GrinZombies zombies everywhere and not one of them seems to eat brains.

Vivacia · 06/06/2015 20:45

Thanks Narvine I completely don't remember that from the books. (I may have done some skim-reading of some parts).

herfrom2doorsdown · 07/06/2015 10:50

I'll be disappointed if TV GoT turns into a zombie apocalypse, I'm not arsed about zombies.

Trills · 07/06/2015 11:34

I'm a bit suspicious of all those what is dead can never die Ironborn who have been drowned then resuscitated too

That's just a bit of rudimentary CPR (or less than that even, they just stopped breathing, probably didn't even stop the heart). Like a really nasty baptism for a harsh culture.
