I'm still confused as to what the skeleton zombies were? I thought the white walkers turned the dead into other white walkers. Not skeleton zombies.

StormyBrid · 04/06/2015 19:35

Nah, they reanimate corpses. Earlier ones have been more recently killed so look less skeletal, is my guess, and that big army was composed of rather more rotted reanimated corpses.

(Just sticking that theory out there to mark my place...)

ethelb · 04/06/2015 19:43

Are the white walkers afraid of water? If so why didn't the village just run into the water and wait for the boats to come back for them.

If not, why didn't they follow Jon Snow et al into the water and kill them up?

AmberFool · 04/06/2015 20:56

I thought Ser Ilyn Payne was still around?

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 04/06/2015 21:08

I am late to the whole GoT saga - started watching this series and am speed reading the books. Bloody love it!

Am really hoping for Lady S...

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 04/06/2015 21:38

Are the zombies the Others?

ethelb · 04/06/2015 21:40

I think white walkers is the TV term for the others.

abearcalledpaddington · 04/06/2015 22:07

Who is the big ginger male wildling? I like him, he looks all big and strong and brutish. Blush

iusedtobecool · 04/06/2015 22:11

Tormund Giantsbane! He's my GOT crush too. Pregnancy hormones are raging at the mo, and he's not helping! I loved the last episode, it was good to see him playing a bigger role, and he didn't get killed off! ( yet ) Grin

abearcalledpaddington · 04/06/2015 22:18

Lol i have no pregnancy hormones to blame!

Is it bad that i liked the part where he smashed that blokes head in? The one wearing some kind of skull mask?

I love him and Jon Snow too.I liked Sean Bean, and i like Jorah. Oh and Kohl Drogo.......

I think Daenarys might get back on track now she has Tyrion advising her.

TheFirstOfHerName · 04/06/2015 22:49

I am quite sad that we are already coming to the end of this series. It seems to have gone very fast.

gingercat12 · 04/06/2015 23:02

Tormund would be very proud. In the book he talks a lot about his "member", which is giant by the sound of it. Grin

My top crush is Jaime when he was travelling with Brienne and was quite disheveled and terribly witty. In the books I still like him, but not in the show. He is quite dumb at the moment.

ZacharyQuack · 04/06/2015 23:09

I love Tormund with his magnificent Barry Gibb blow dry.

Sansarya · 04/06/2015 23:40

To clarify - White Walkers are the zombie warriors who can raise the dead. The dead who they raise (who then cannot raise other dead, or so it seems) are Wights. Both fall under the term Others. Or at least I think that explains it...

Sansarya · 04/06/2015 23:42

Also, I think I prefer Tormund with rather than without the beads.

Row, row, row your boat,
More quickly from Hardhome;
And if you see a White Walker,
Don't forget that Valerian steel can destroy them.

ethelb · 05/06/2015 10:26

Oh they are the wights! Thanks for clarifying, it makes sense now. The babies were being made into white walkers though weren't they? But they weren't dead, in the series anyway.

Sansarya · 05/06/2015 10:58

Re the babies, I'd like to know if Wights or WWs have the ability to grow up. Because otherwise what's the use to turning them when they're babies?

Lweji · 05/06/2015 11:10

And they are all boys, aren't they? So can't really reproduce.

Sexist bastards.

Lweji · 05/06/2015 11:11

Which raises the point that it's not in their interests to wipe out humans. They still need breeders.

yumyumpoppycat · 05/06/2015 11:27

Maybe they will keep some humans alive on a farm or like some subordinate species like in 70s planet of the apes? ;)

yumyumpoppycat · 05/06/2015 11:30

I guess they are just concentrating on building an army at the mo which is why they want boys , and the alive ones are the leaders of the dead ones?

Lweji · 05/06/2015 11:32

That's sort of what they had before, wasn't it? With that old man and all the women/daughters/granddaughters.

I wonder if WW also fight among themselves and that is why they need zombie armies.

Would it work to play zombie, or do they sense who is alive?

It seems to me that Westeros should finish and implement that zombie apocalypse plan asap.

gingercat12 · 05/06/2015 11:38

They say that the Night King (who was the 13th Lord Commander of the Nights Watch, andnhis name was erased from history) married an Other woman, so there must have been at least one White Walker woman. Although taking into account Westerosi treatment of women, she could have just been an ordinary woman and it is all just bad-mouthing.
I also thought that a wildling woman Jon fancies in the books may be some kind of an Other or messenger of the Old Gods. Certainly not human. And she seems perfectly normal.
Noone in the books is all good or bad, so I do not think the White Walkers are. There must be a reason they came. I'll find the quote in the book which says that in this story the evillest creatures are always human.

Narvinectralonum · 05/06/2015 11:57

Westeros and Essos are actually overrun with zombies. Ice zombies, Fire zombies, water zombies, stone zombies and coming soon - science zombies.
