So far nothing has been as bad as Thr stannis bits at the start of the episode.

I thought the first half was great, albeit a bit rushed.

Second half was predictable and a bit meh.

As a book reader, I warned DH before we started tonight that we were due a big death / 'death' that had happened in the books, but not yet on-screen.

I'd read the spoilers but only watched it now.
I said on the other (early) thread I feel this ending is a bit of a sell out.

I reckon Jon will be ok. At the end of the last book he's just been stabbed but it's not confirmed that he's dead and grrm is a tricky fucker so I think he's alive. Or it's a double bluff and he's totally dead.

Interested to see stannis dying - that must be a plot advancement as that hadn't happened in the book.

Arya was a badass but she's in trouble now! Dirty paedo deserved it though.

Glad to see gilly and Sam off to oldtown. Sets things up nicely for the next series.

Daenarys is probably fucked, as the dothraki are territorial and don't recognise fallen khals or khaleesis. Maybe drogon will rescue her again.

I thought that the Cersei walk of atonement was really well done.

I couldn't understand why that girl (forget her name) was trying to kill Sansa or was she trying to scare her? That bit went straight over my head.

After last week, I knew Stannis was a goner. That Mel scarpered out if there pretty quick didn't she?

Who's the character that we haven't seen since S1 that everyone is talking about? Is it Gendry? Or Ned

When Brienne made her speech then asked Stannis if he had any last words I really wanted him to correct her on a point of grammar.

Why do you think Benjen will be back? (Curious)

So we can presumably figure out exactly how S6 episode 1 will go:

I am encouraged by the fact that both the books and the TV show end up at the same place Wall-wise, though by very different routes: Melisandre (and her dead-raising powers) is there without Stannis, and Jon is in deep shit but not actually dead.

We didn't actually see Stannis die though, so in GoT world there is everything to play for.
