A little something for woof and orphan to bring back some memories and get the HRT flowing.

Ilovelblue · 07/06/2015 10:18

Where on earth did you find those? Hahaha.

orphan · 07/06/2015 10:27

Oh pixie I'm all in a lather. If only I could roll the clock back to when men were real men and wore polyester slacks with knife edge pleats and knitted tunic tops with fetching belt ties.

Fortunately for me, dear Ian left behind some of his wardrobe and Rupert has taken a shine to several items. He is currently reclining on the bed in the silky pyjamas and dressing gown combo although I do think the Stetson hat is an unnecessary touch. And I have to say his attempt at growing the sideburns and tache isn't going too well.

cjwoofwoof · 07/06/2015 11:36

Thank you for the reminder pix - I must say mustard is a very under-rated colour, especially in a chunky knit cardigan with knitted belt, and is why I don't have a problem with CJs diarrohea suede jacket as it takes me back to the good old days. And I've never understood why ankle swinging patchwork lune pants havent been resurrected, AT looks very fetching in his vintage pair given to me as a memento by Jason King following a memorable Woodstock Festival doing in '69

cjwoofwoof · 07/06/2015 11:41

My favourite is the early Freddy Mercury shots pre-Queen fame in the canary yellow high waisted flares and slashed to the navel shirt with jaunty Jamiroqui hat. Well a guy had to make ends meet somehow whilst waiting for Bohemian Rhapsody to be a hit I suppose.

cjwoofwoof · 07/06/2015 11:47

And don't even get me started on matching vest and y-front combos. I spent many a teenage evening flicking through Mums Littlewoods catalogue stopping to ogle the men's underwear section from every angle. Yet again patchwork was a great feature, but the imitation giraffe print was always a favourite.

orphan · 07/06/2015 12:10

Those all in one underwear sets led to some unfortunate misunderstandings, didn't they woof? On several occasions in the unisex changing rooms at the Pontefeact Lido, you were mistaken for a dashing lothario by some young lady. I think the chest hair may have added to the confusion.

cjwoofwoof · 07/06/2015 12:13

Indeed orph plus the full moustache didn't help, but I managed to swerve her and headed for the deep end with dear Ian and Oliver

Rhubarb01 · 07/06/2015 12:29

My favourite of those selections is the one featuring three male models on the left in matchingKaitex vest and pants and the man on the right in a long green textile item entitled "Man's textured vest in knit" only for the fact that they obviously didn't have a very big budget for model hire and must have decided to go for the everyday man in the street look. Also the title "Slack Power" which to me appears to be something of an oxymoron!

pixieg1rl · 07/06/2015 12:43

I'm trying to work out the red and yellow trousers/pyjama bottoms. They don't appear to have a side seam until halfway down the thigh. Is it a forerunner of the play trousers allowing quick access, or is does the model just fill them a bit too well? Is that why the balloon is there, to hide a wardrobe malfunction?

No pixie that is indeed a design feature of the 'grab and go' pyjama bottom.

Afternoon Smile

Lazy morning here. Skyped my brother in Australia this morning.

I work for a tour operator so going to Canada is what we call a Fam Trip. It's so we learn more about the place to sell it better. One if our trips when I'm there is to a distillery called Lucky Ba*rd Grin. As well as zip-lining and horse-riding ( never been on a horse before)

Those two delectable male specimens were in fact part of woof and my dance troupe in the 70s. The balloons played a pivotal role in our most popular routine, as well as the open access pj bottoms.

orphan · 07/06/2015 13:02

Wow I like the sound of your job pixie!

orphan · 07/06/2015 13:04

Sorry meanticemist !! Blame it on sunstroke..

cjwoofwoof · 07/06/2015 13:13

An yes I'd forgotten those two orph but now you mention it I do remember mine was the red-trousered one and that's his balloon discarded in the bottom right of the pic. How could I forget him? Quite frankly pix I'm more diverted by the man in aqua than Balloon Man. I'm liking the cut of his jib in the trouser department with the 3-button overflap with totally flat frontage, and the platform white Chelsea boots finish the ensemble off a treat. He does seem a bit on the short side, even with the extra leverage of the boots, but the pic is stolen by Freddy on the far left who is simply owning that outfit.

ice hope the next Fam Trip involves the Caribbean or Florida as it's important you sell the right holidays to the right people and need that kind of background knowledge. orphan and I could probably do your job for breaks in old Communist and Eastern bloc countries thanks to our vast well used travelled experience in gymnastic tours and cells

icemistOBE · 07/06/2015 13:15

Thanks orphan it's only my second ever one. I went to The Maldives when I worked in a store in 2002. Am rather excited.

Brilliant ff updates from kelly and cherries - just what the doctor ordered whilst sunbathing and sipping Pimms, thank you ladies Wine

pixieg1rl · 07/06/2015 13:35

I was wondering why anyone would fancy my job - I have a day in London tomorrow, but that 6 hours training in a specific part of data protection legislation in a hotel conference room doesn't come close to a trip to Canada.

Nickel45 · 07/06/2015 17:51

Think I'd prefer a trip to Canada pixie Wink. Nce one ice, that'll be brilliant.

Those outfits are a bit .... Um ..... Scary pix ... !!!! Mind you, I wonder if there is anything we wear now, that people will look back at in 40 years, and think the same?!?

We've had a lovely afternoon outside in the sun, but am completely shattered and need sleep! Unfortunately the kids aren't!

icemistOBE · 07/06/2015 18:03

Just out for a drink before dinner and London Grammar came on music Smile

pixie shocking pictures!! They remind me of my parents parties in the 70's, Pampas grass on the front lawn and keys in a dish.

Lazy Sunday today. Quick dash to the shops this morning to buy 3rd pair of school shoes for DS since christmas, grrrrrrr. He has been wearing two left feet for a week and only told me because his feet hurt. I also bought The Girl on the Train book. Sat in the garden and nearly half way through it. It's really good, but now need to catch up on FF as behind!

ice how lucky you are., especially having CJ to accompany you :)

KellyHb · 07/06/2015 20:57

Evening all. Had a hectic day. Went to a relatives 60th wedding anniversary dinner in a swanky hotel but couldn't sit down long enough to drink any wine or food as me and dh had to keep running after our 3yr old twin boys. They thought it a huge joke. I think I've perfected running in heels! One huge bonus was that a relative who id never met before was there all the way from Canada! Straight away I thought of CJ and was dying to quiz him if he knew anything about BA and when he was in Reign but thought better of it as it would make me sound like I thought Canada was a tiny country and everyone knows each other!

BTW this is quick question for ice as you're the MI5 bod. Last night on twitter it said that Lucky Man was nearly finished filming. Have you seen any pics or heard any news of BA just that's the last job on his CV and if there's no news of S2, I get the feeling he's gonna get booked up with other work?! Sorry but I still get panicky over BA if there's no word for a while. Confused I know I sound mental...running after 3 kids does that to you! X

Nickel45 · 07/06/2015 21:41

pixie as slightly scared that I have just seen this link on a friends FB page ..... Either she is a lurking on here, or .... Well, not sure what to think!!!,

Onlygirljen · 07/06/2015 22:00

nickel I wouldn't worry, I've seen it on facebook tonight as well. Think it's just doing the rounds as opposed to anybody lurking on here. crosses fingers
