given recent form, things look less than great for Nadal-but he likes the big stage and slams are a different beast to other tournaments.

So- new thread to talk ( mostly) about tennis- though it's not compulsory., and we all have different favourites and respect that others might not love our favourites as much as we do.

so...a week to go. May Murray be less tired, Rafa more confident , and a happy tournament be had by all.

Bedene fact- last time we had two men in the top 100, it was Greg and Tim. both married to Lucys. Bedene is engaged to a Kim. Murray is married to one. Spooky.

in my head I am pronouncing his name Bed-ean. I still get Raonic wrong.

Oh that's a bit of a coincidence isn't it? I don't know what the correct pronunciation is - and neither do the commentators it seems since it alternates between Bed-ean and Bed-enay.

Talking of Mrs Henman - didn't think she looked very stylish at Kim and Andy's wedding. Not that I would have looked any better mind.

Well- there's a shock. They have taken off the Watson match for Murray.

No- Andy is already playing, just, on a different court.
