given recent form, things look less than great for Nadal-but he likes the big stage and slams are a different beast to other tournaments.

So- new thread to talk ( mostly) about tennis- though it's not compulsory., and we all have different favourites and respect that others might not love our favourites as much as we do.

so...a week to go. May Murray be less tired, Rafa more confident , and a happy tournament be had by all.

Popped home for lunch & caught a bit of tennis on Eurosport. The noise from Schiavone & Kuznetsova - unbelievable!! I wanted Sveta to win, I've always had a soft spot for her.

Rafa seems to be going well - good for him, Almagro can be a tricky customer.

Rats. Serena 4-2 in second. Friedsam just broke back, so 4-3.

And its Freeed-Sam not fried as in egg.

Rafa going much better than the crowd & commentators wanted/expected, I think.

Can see Almagro getting frustrated though, which is never good. Rafa will just wear an opponent down, getting cross doesn't help.

Yup- I think the commentators thought as I did- Almagro (on Rafa's current form) could have posed more of a problem. He's had some excellent moments though. Real shame for him to meet Rafa now.
