Watching it all in iplayer and I think it's great. It looks like he's moved away from mis-heard lyrics and 'spare chair'/'big light'
He did ask Kayleigh if she was on glue... Do you think he's a MNetter??

Don't want to say too much as it starts on Wednesday but I've watched it all on I player and think its a great comedy will definitely be watching series on tv

forgivenminds · 25/04/2015 22:15

I do like peter key he just seems like he would make such great friend/college I know people who have been fortunate to meet him and all have such good things to say about him

wigglesrock · 25/04/2015 22:42

I've just watched all six episodes on the iplayer, I really enjoyed it, thought it was lovely.

Coumarin · 26/04/2015 04:29

I watched the first two episode in iplayer and woke DH up I laughed so hard. He thought I was crying. There's a bit in episode 2 that really tickled me for some reason. Grin The music video made me smile. I do that all the time. Blush

I hadn't heard of it, just came across it whilst looking for something to watch as I can't sleep. Loved it.

Coumarin · 26/04/2015 04:29

Excuse the typos. Damn iphone.

Coumarin · 26/04/2015 04:32

Oh balls, has it not been on yet? Sorry if I gave anything away. Shit, I hate spoilers too.

NickAngel · 26/04/2015 06:37

Why was it on iplayer before mainstream channel?

I think putting it on iPlayer was genius - we're binge watchers and that suited us well. We watched three episodes on Friday and the rest last night.

Really enjoyed it - very funny and the sort of thing Peter Kay is really good at. That sort of spot on observational stuff - the local radio, for example. And look for it for some of the shop names (B & S Carolgees had me in stitches). I love the bits where they crack each other up for real.

snozzlemaid · 26/04/2015 14:48

I've just watched the first two episodes and it's really good. The end of episode two had me in stitches when he was laughing.
The local radio ads are great and I love the music.

RoosterCogburnIsInTheJakes · 26/04/2015 14:56

Loved it - the radio ads and choice of music were genius.

In the dogging episode DH and I were crying with laughter.

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 26/04/2015 14:58

I thought it was crap Confused

DH and I watched the first ep a do thought it wasn't very funny at all. The stuff with the urine sample was a bit pathetic and the rest were typical Peter Kay cliches.

I loved Phoenix Nights but the stand up stuff, Max & Paddy & other stuff has been dire. This is better but not good enough.

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 26/04/2015 15:00

"A do" = ipad cock up. Should read "and I"

StupidBloodyKindle · 29/04/2015 21:44

Binge watched it. Gentle build up comedy and characterisation... Kayleigh irritated me at first (is that why her surname was Kitson?) Wink but then grew fond of her. It may not be belly laughs material nor might it be ground breaking, the music vid bits jarred a little for me too, but it was a huge improvement from the reality show parody, was not written by Kay so unfair to slate him for the writing (he got co-writer credit for some of the input he and co-star did but bulk done by two other writers) but he did do the directing and I thought he did a decent job. His acting was also more nuanced.
Some of the camaraderie between them reminded me of Gervase/Jensen in the car at the end of extras.
But Kay has many detractors ready to put the boot in and with there being a gap between ventures, there will be a certain amount of pressure despite the success of recent Phoenix reunion or possibly because of it. Either way I enjoyed it and hope there will be a second series commissioned.

SouthWestmom · 29/04/2015 21:46

Watching it now. It's really boring but dh likes it

StupidBloodyKindle · 29/04/2015 21:46

Oh, and agree, the radio station forever fm was absolutely pitch perfect.

Davros · 29/04/2015 21:58

Just watching first episode. Its ok, I'll give it longer and try next episode. The music video in this one is not as good as the ones on Uncle

Lagoonablue · 30/04/2015 06:45

Thought it was good. Well observed comedy.

code · 30/04/2015 07:14

After the first episode which is quite flawed it gets really good. I'd get rid of the music video bits. The radio is the star of the show, loved the adverts about sheds and the 'good' college. Also like all the naff shops they pass.

indyandlara · 30/04/2015 07:17

Now 48 Grin

PooSweats84 · 30/04/2015 15:15

Had 'Pure and Simple' stuck in my bloody head the whole day after binge watching all 6 episodes! Absolutely loved the series and the music was spot on!

jonicomelately · 30/04/2015 15:18

I've only seen the first episode but I loved it so much I watched it three times Smile

InQuiteAPickle · 30/04/2015 15:23

I loved it! I wonder if he'll do anymore? I really hope so.

I must admit that I started watching the first episode and was a bit Hmm wondering where they could go with it as they were just in the car, fgs but I was pleasantly surprised. I found it really heartwarming and I liked the characters.

I love Peter Kay, he's my favourite comedian.

MozzchopsThirty · 30/04/2015 15:50

Loved the radio adverts and music, made me laugh the loudest
Will deffo watch again

sheldonesque · 30/04/2015 18:11
