Don't know if there's already a thread about it. It's at 8 on ITV. Will watch it but think it'll just be a lot of squabbling and point scoring tbh...

Fun to watch it with you lot tho! Smile

I think Nicola used to irritate me as head girl to Salmond's headmaster. She's much better as headmistress. Grin

TSSDNCOP · 02/04/2015 22:44

I'm in the SE, scary amount of UKIP Support.

handfulofcottonbuds · 02/04/2015 22:46

Me too, there is lots of support in the SE for UKIP. I'm insulted every time I see a flag flying in support of them.

Thing that scares me is that we never thought Lib Dems would be in power, albeit as a Coalition. Public are fed up and I don't think UKIP should be underestimated.

Wolfcub · 02/04/2015 22:47

Good point handful

MumSnotBU · 02/04/2015 22:48

Question time on now.

The80sweregreat · 02/04/2015 22:48

Does anyone think the coalition worked? We could end up with another one..

Wolfcub · 02/04/2015 22:49

Oh no not Gove

Idontseeanydragons · 02/04/2015 22:49

Sadly TSS I think at least a couple of them might be real ones not UKIP Sad
On the upside Twitter is going happy over needing more women in politics Smile
And so over to Peter Hitchens on QT to lower the mood for the rest of the night...

Lloydgeorge · 02/04/2015 22:50

NS has every right to be there. Snp are the third biggest party in scotland. Please tell me she's stated she won't have anything to do with UKIP in a hung parliament?

BoulevardOfBrokenSleep · 02/04/2015 22:50

Also, getting all meta-analysis about it, it was interesting to watch who each leader attacked on the unscripted bit. Nick was the first to speak (?) and jumped straight in to attack Dave. Hardly surprising if he's been choking it down for five years, a lot of built-up rage there.

Ed and Dave mostly attacked each other, think Ed took time out for a sideswipe at Nick (there's a lot of Labour/Lib Dem marginals out there!), hardly anyone bothered attacking NF except NS (?)

The major parties are now working on the premise that if they say, "Immigration is a problem and we will... blah blah blah", voters hear "Immigration is a problem.... and the answer is UKIP" so are just fighting on sensible topics.

Lloydgeorge · 02/04/2015 22:51

Sorry - third biggest party in the UK . Pffft!

The80sweregreat · 02/04/2015 22:52

Boulevard, good point on immigration.

Wolfcub · 02/04/2015 22:54

The question time audience are getting on my tits already

BoulevardOfBrokenSleep · 02/04/2015 23:12

The80sweregreat (seriously- did you see my hair back then?!) my thoughts on coalition:

It's a good idea for politicians to have to argue their ideas and proposals with each other, instead of getting a whacking great majority and then whipping through their mate Steve's brilliant idea about reorganising the entire education system, or Jim's great wheeze to strip the NHS down to the ground and rebuild it at vast expense.

If they have to justify to someone with the same perceived status as them what exactly they want to do and why, it might spare us having the crappier ideas inflicted upon us.

AliceDoesntLiveHereAnymore · 02/04/2015 23:19

Sadly, I know quite a few people that would vote UKIP. But then (also sadly), I know a fair few that would vote Conservative as well.

Just watching it on I iplayer & actually encouraged about politics which I never would have predicted. It's so good to hear three bright women leaders, instead of the narrow range of public schoolboys worldview ( with Apologies & with exception to you EB). So refreshing I think the women rocked. Spoke with greater clarity, belief and sense. DC looks on the defensive I don't think he can handle this debate with strong women candidates. I guess the one area his expensive education didn't prepare him for ....
