Conveyed the fact that aramis was actually bricking it (about to be bludgeoned to death) but still his first thought was for the queen and he sort of felt he deserved it. Very good indeed.

It matches my mood, just done a rewatch on my own, and howled like a baby. It's a good job I don't have to go out.

I'm heartbroken for Athos. But why would Milady think he would go to England with her, she knows the Regiment is his life? Was she testing the love he has for her, the power she has over him? If he had arrived in time, would she have gone back to Paris with him? She left her glove at the scene deliberately. He'll have to keep it now and look at it mournfully from time to time, like the necklace, and then give it back to her when she returns, if she returns?

Morning all! DH has taken DS to sporting activity and I am staying at home to:

1. Unearth dining room table, It's there somewhere under all the crap (this will visible proof to DH that I have not been lazing about all morning on MN)
2. Do some work (with a rewatch) assuming the sodding stabases let me in today
3. Take DS to a party

Still gutted for Athos/Milady wonderfully tragic for them. Though loved the comments about England - "It rains all the time, and the food... phft."

Right - puts on pinny miner's gear and gets going on the table . If I' not back tonight, send Athos a search party Athos and a search party, and think of me kindly....

Oh Apricot I know I know. I feel the same. Thank goodness we know they're starting filming next month. I am also feeling a bit about why Milady would srsly think he'd leave his bros in arms. But I did think it was a genuine heartbreaker when she heard the chap on the horse coming, kept out thinking it was him and then it wasn't.

I'm not sure where they're going to go from here but they ARE bound together. And I don't like seeing him sad. Although actually I do in a way cos NOONE does broody and tortured like Tom. Milady is interesting cos she's a badass. But heroic Captain can't go off with a murderer so she needs to redeem a bit more first.

To be fair, after half an hour of Aramis telling her off for killing people too readily, she'd got quite contrite so maybe he'd be a better priest than we think?

Two other bits which came to mind that I really liked. 1) Aramis got on his horse after the Milady rescue with real panache. 2) the bit where Athos kisses Aramis will be fuelling the lj people for months.

Also just to say that that first sequence when you suddenly see Fog through the planks of the executioners scaffold was just SO well done. I've rewound that a few times. And it was so obviously Tom there with the mask on hahahaha

Helen I'm excavating too!!! I have a heavy duty roll of black bags and charity box and am channelling my Marie Kendo woman thing. MrC is dealing with the garage. Go for it!!

Mass tidying going on here too.

I think what i liked most about the finale was making the women a bit more badass. Connie getting to fight, Queenie being commanding and having a core of steel and Milady springing out Aramis.

I wanted to see the muskeboys work a bit harder. Oh you saved Connie with just 3 men? And you've barely broken into a sweat.

Some random thoughts:-

I think I've read somewhere that Milady is back in S3 - but that ending would be a very good one if she wasn't. Just imagine Team Athos - he could get it on with other women then....

Did anyone else notice the way Dog launched himself at Aramis when they all said their goodbyes? Oh God.

The DVD extras - if they are the BBC BTS videos about the making of - I AM going to lose my Twitter halo.

Finally on a bloody laptop so MN can stop crashing.

Rewatched this morning. I made the same comments at the same bits and DS1 kept saying 'you said that last night'.

I have only today properly discovered that if I click on one of a selection of gifs it massive and fills me phone screen. I have spent the majority of my morning on this when I have actually been able to click.

Queenie has been brilliantly commanding but understated (expect for that episode they had her shouty and out of character when Louis went missing). I loved it when she told Rochefort that she had not thought about him one day.

I would have preferred Connie to die tbh if they weren't going to give her back her sass, so was pleased to see her back.

I think Dog lives at the garrison so Connie was presumably in his bed, rather than the Captain's.

And, the crossroads... it isn't completely rural is it, because it's Paris and the surrounding area but since the coach was there presumably the route between villages etc so I suppose not completely unbelievable that people would be around.

Anyway I think we are spending far far too much time worryign about these details when actually what is important is this:
