  2. Will mechanic get done for rape
5 mc gambling debt will be found out 6 will they get back together or both marriages split

Bearded bloke hubby beating wife will be found out

TheDietStartsTomorrow · 22/04/2015 23:56

What a shithead of a husband Dave is. I liked Beth but she really needs to stand up to him and just lose him. He's done enough damage.

I doubt there'll be a Season 2. It's left for us to speculate about what happens next.

WorraLiberty · 22/04/2015 23:58

Oh I really hope there's a second series. I absolutely loved this!

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/04/2015 07:38

I don't like speculating. I like loose ends tied up Grin

Hope there is a s2

SheHasAWildHeart · 23/04/2015 11:35

I like that the show always gets me thinking "what would I do?"
Like the first episode what would I do if my DH told his colleagues I had died? Episode 5, what would I do if DH told me had a son he'd never told me about? Episode 6, what would I do if missing DH returned a different man and I'd fallen in love with someone else?

There's also enough loose ends to keep it going. For example, lady with red hair who slept with Jason Manford what's her story? The bloke suffering DV? And Marianne who fancied Dave?

Am not sure that it would return with all of the cast though.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 23/04/2015 11:52

I thought the last episode was the best. Loved the series and can't wait for the next one Smile

2rebecca · 23/04/2015 13:04

It didn't tie up enough for me, think I maybe missed a bit when the relationship between the dark skinned woman and missing man was revealed. That never really made sense to me. It was realistic that after a few months with ambitious Mike run away from it all husband was a let down.
The gambling double life episode annoyed me. Believable if he didn't live with her but I couldn't live with a man and not know the details of his finances and it annoys me that tellyland is full of women who don't bother their pretty little heads with looking at their partners finances. Worse still when they are married and have joint assets that could be removed by debt collectors.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 23/04/2015 13:13

But that happens in RL over and over again, you only have to look at the relationship board on here to know that.

The dark haired woman liked the missing husband and started chasing him, the husband just felt it was another added pressure that he had to run from.

SheHasAWildHeart · 23/04/2015 16:02

I did think when Mike's wife turned up crying over him and not letting him go even when he's strayed and isn't loyal to her - that the women in the show are pathetic, but then I remembered that all the men in the show are pathetic too!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 23/04/2015 16:19

I thought she was furious not pathetic.

oneowlgirl · 23/04/2015 16:32

I honestly thought furious & pathetic. Who wants a man that very clearly doesn't want them & who uses her dad to keep such a man?? Totally pathetic if you ask me.

I completely disagree with cheating but actually felt for him with a wife like that who simply refuses to acknowledge what's happening under her nose (ie he's a shit & doesn't love her!) & threatens him to keep him married. Could you imagine if the genders were reversed in that situation??!!!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 23/04/2015 16:43

I expect she wanted her family to stay together, probably for the sake of her children more than anything else.

Southeastdweller · 23/04/2015 19:08

The wife was very dim. She never noticed the money going out to pay for the secret son for years.

Sleepyfergus · 24/04/2015 14:36

Loved this, finally saw the last episode today. Nicely set up for S2

Love a bit of Max Beasley too Wink

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 24/04/2015 16:11

Me too Sleepy, did you see him in Bodies? AND he plays the drums

wowfudge · 24/04/2015 18:44

I only saw half the series, but thought it was great. Very much along the lines of Clocking Off.

The fact that not everything gets explained and loose ends don't always get tied up makes it more realistic. Btw I know someone in RL who had no idea about her DH's finances. Couples don't always have joint bank accounts and who's to say he didn't have a separate account he paid for the child through?

CurbsideProphet · 25/04/2015 17:14

I'm watching this now. Beth is supposed to be in Margate but has just driven down the Coast Road in Southport (Merseyside). Did they run out of budget to actually film down south?!
