I was sitting here submerged in a spreadsheet when I realised it was chucking out time :( Had to phone the school to let them know I was on my way but goin gto be late...

Anyway, I've giggled a few times this series, but not many, it has to be said. The only ones I can remember are Milady giving Treville and Athos grief on route to rescuing the King 'by all means, let's discuss my moral character', and the 'my unwanted house is bigger than your unwanted house' exchange between Porthos and Athos. For the most part, the giggles come in the interplay between characters, esp the musketeers, and there's been precious little of that in this series. Oh - and there was punching Rochefort to see how it felt.

In terms of independent women.... hard for them given that realities of that period in time, as spelt out by Connie to Dog (on one of the many occasions he was an utter arse) We had Ninoninoninon being independently wealthy in series 1, which I think is the only way you could manage it. Mavis Catherine seemed to be doing ok in this series until she turned out to be a self-entitled bampot with a chip the size of Mt Everest on her shoulder.

Ho hum hey. Better finish up the work I abandoned to go and fetch DS.

5. today I have been introduced to you tube videos about Marie Kondo house decluttering and am now fucking obsessed with it. I basically want to go home now and institute the biggest and best house tidy EVAH. (Disclaimer : I might need a year off to complete this feat).

Just popping in briefly between ironing and making top hats for Red Nose Day at DS school (I do feel slightly treacherous) and going to bed.

Outed myself to my 18thC MA girls as a Muskie fan tonight (been at an excellent talk about a fab woman and polymath, Maria Graham). Turns out they all are too, partly because it is so historically inaccurate none of us worry about inconsistencies, unlike sat Poldark (also all big fans) or Banished (just me - I have researching gallow designs in 1780s on my to do list because I have a feeling they got it wrong). Anyway, I felt quite brave afterwards, but that could just have been the glass and a half of wine

Not read all of the thread but def agree on not do may laughs or Athos side looks but more Milady/Athos angst

Btw fancy the vast, vast majority of slash writers and readers are women, gay men are a small minority. Can point you to various academic studies on fanfic if anyone is interested.

Bugger me, that was an especially dull one tonight. Too many reports, not enough summaries, it's hard to take a strategic view when you're drowning in detail.

Part of the dullness came from a good place though so it wasn't all bad. Our Head has cleverly managed to secure funding for all our major plans for the next 2 years. That removed most of the interesting discussion points

Morning all. Lovely sunny morning. My grand plan today is to wash the throws and dry them on the line. Have cleaned up in kitchen (was guilt tripeed into it by DH putting on dishwasher while I had an early night) need to get DS into red nose day clothes (i.e. anything red I can find - i.e. notmuch. Red does not figure much in his outfits. Apart from spiderman costume.) And need to do MORE work #treadmill
