I think Porthos actually said that Belgarde. I'm not that perceptive Grin

LetUsPrey · 07/03/2015 09:07

said that to Belgarde

Travelledtheworld · 07/03/2015 09:14

Just catching up...

So, the Muskeboys rescue a gaggle of teenage virgins from the orgy and take them to the barracks for safety.....??????Hmm

LetUsPrey · 07/03/2015 09:25

I'm watching Austenland. We've got Bonnaire and Marzac Grin

LaComtess · 07/03/2015 09:26

Morning all!

Due to I didn't get to watch last night so watched v early this morning and am now at a swim meet. Sooooooo tired!

My thoughts:

  1. I loved the pub scene with M and Athos. The husky whispery voice is just. Ooof. Also v interestingly set up for finale.

  2. I think the problem here with the post watershed stuff is that Adrian has set out his stall a bit with 'identity' (eye roll at Howie at every interview) and the position of women. So in order to get sone decent female roles within the parameters that he's set, almost necessarily there has to be an amount of peril and unpleasantly set scenes. Also why Connie has to constantly worry about what would become of her without husband/security. I think we are meant to imagine that Milady has had to go through a lot as she hasn't had the protection of a husband and has therefore constructed a persona for society which she has literally had to murder and sleep her way to. And you get horse whipped if you don't do what you're told. Etc. Having taken that posis Adrian has slightly overdone it but I think as a series thing it holds together.

  3. lol at Athos leaving his uniform everywhere. You can leave it with me love.

  4. dog did irritate me but I think that's his nature. Think back to him taking all three muskies on in a temper in the first episode.

  5. Ooof the hairpin. Get in!

  6. Norah/wicked I think there is an issue here that we have such high expectations because of the quality of the Tav lit. Nonny gets a fab balance of nekkid musketeer and historically driven plot. Essentially Nonny needs to write s3. Around Mavis a writing framework about the trousers. Hell yeah.

  7. the my house is bigger than your house I rewound a few times and just enjoyed enjoyed.

  8. I'm tweeting bbc and pov shortly about a) return to Sunday for S3. Fridays are a shit time. B) two weeks to wait is too long c) fucjsakè ref US getting finale before us.

  9. I feel a bit traitorous but fuck yeah to Poldark . But also, makes me sad that they've put so much into poldark promo and not muskies. JP, Colin and Adrian need to have a serious look at their promo and with the beeb per se.

Right, trapped at sport events til later. Loved reading all your comments wenches . I know Apricot will know the bit I'd like a gif of...

Laters!

Hey comtess, I do feel like I'm cheating on the musketeers by flirting with Poldark.

BloodyElkFire · 07/03/2015 09:44

Mooooorning

"I gave you everything" went straight to my ladyparts heartstrings

Excellent Mavis, can I add:

Athos loses his trousers whilst dismounting niftily from his horse (first sighting of TB doing this last night, anyone notice?)

Athos loses his trousers whilst nearly dying perilously at the hands of Milady (writers feel free to run with this in any direction you see fit)

And the clincher:

Athos loses his trousers whilst wading slo-mo out of a lake, billowy shirt clinging to his finely honed torso.......

Also, can I have a round of applause for MrElk, who not only arrived with a large plate of tea for me at 9.05 last night, but also took BabyElk from me at 1am and I didn't know anything else until half past seven this morning !!! Shock

MiladyBeaWinter · 07/03/2015 10:17

Um, morning. We had take out (Indian) last night and I have the most horrific bloat this morning. Can't workout of it's the curry, the beers or impending blob. Or possibly a mix of all 3. Just wonderful Hmm

Least I can post about is as poor Sparks is not here. Also got a kids birthdays party this afternoon at a noisy soft play place. It's blowing a hoolie and forecast to be pouring down so it will no doubt be rammed. I swear my kids have a better social life than me. I do have book group tonight, though have not read the book. Oops.

Er, watch out for Liv down there. It gets a bit dubious and she is partial to a side order of Dog.

MiladyBeaWinter · 07/03/2015 10:18

Aww re MrElk. Good job that man. Though five minutes earlier with the food so not interrupting eh....?

FancyFancy · 07/03/2015 10:31

Morning, being Team Aramis, I don't have any conscience problems re Poldark perving, exclusivity is hardly his strong point Grin.

Pleased you had a great night chaise, hope the head is ok today & that MrElk came up trumps last night elk.

MavisGrind · 07/03/2015 10:33

Morning all.

YY to Athos losing his trousers in a lake

Enjoy the soft play Bea - do they do good coffee and cake? It's the only way I get through soft play.

The weather is awful here - ridiculously windy.

Right, I've promised myself I'm going to be productive today and currently I'm still say here in my pjs so, if you see me before, say 5ish tell me to bugger off. Ta.

FolknNorah · 07/03/2015 10:45

Elk we've all got that image of our favourite wading out if a lake. Grin

I quite like this one

ApricotCrush · 07/03/2015 12:37

Morning all. Haven't read the thread, but have just done a quick fast forward/rewatch to find Comtesseses gif. I have to admit I totally missed it last night and was slightly panicking as I didn't see anything gifable.

However, as soon as I saw it I knew. Wink It's not very good as he wasn't close to the camera. They really should have done a close up of it, have they no idea? I do believe this was the first time we've seen it Elk.

And well done to MrElk.

Must dash, have a good day all!

MadamedeChevreuse · 07/03/2015 12:41

Blaaaaaarghhhhhh.

Morning. Getting over massive migraine. Still in bed. Cant read thread cos didnt watch last night. Waaaaaah! Cant watch cos now need to get up and do family weekend.

This feels so strange. Just now I even tried reading the rest of mn, as a kind of wench methadone. I can report that hey're all still mostly wankers.

Anyway. Hope youre all ok.

Was it good???

No dont tell me.

Ow my branes hurt.

Zzzzzzz.

ApricotCrush · 07/03/2015 12:47

Oh, sorry you're not well Madame. Look after yourself.

God that gif's mesmerising, somebody drag me away. Grin

Enormouse · 07/03/2015 13:15

Crikey it's grim over there. I'm staying in the tavern.

Ooh nice gif. Check out his arrrrrrse horrrrrrrse

Now the perpetual MN question. I made a roast chicken (disclaimer - it's not a magic one) last night. What should I do with the leftovers. It was marinaded in a piri piri and lime dressing so it's spicy. I've gotten paninis from what was left of the breast meat after the men attacked it and the legs have gone into a spicy jambalaya rice one pot. I could just about get something else out of the wings and carcass but what?

BloodyElkFire · 07/03/2015 15:10

Oh WELL DONE Apricot, I knew you'd come up with the goods Grin

I must say he very pleasantly surprised me with his athleticism....oooof!

Team Athos, add your riding/mounting jokes here -->

FancyFancy · 07/03/2015 15:14

Afternoon, my god it's hot out there Shock. I've been gardening - if I'd stayed out longer I'd have needed suncream. I have solved the mystery of why my cats are so obsessed with my herb garden though as there were 2 holes in it, very probably rats Sad.

Very nice gif of athos dismounting although I'm worried he could do himself a mischief by leaving his left foot in the stirrup like that

Ah, the chicken question! I'd be very tempted to make soup (of course!), the carcass and wing bones would be good for stock. If the chicken was spiced you could make a nice spicy lentil soup - lentils, root veg, onions & the wing meat, I like to use harissa paste to put some heat into soup.

FancyFancy · 07/03/2015 15:16

Hope someone's passed on this little dig to the BBC schedulers Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 07/03/2015 15:23

Mouse - a little spicy casserole?

Have vaguely rewatched, quite like it, but still think it's mostly a bit of a let-down. Oh - but sadly I have lost my position as continuity girl, since Athos wasn't wearing his hat when he went into the house, so can't have lost it there. Boo.

Madame - gentle cwtch and soothing head rub

Round of applause for MrElk and yay for Elk finally getting some sleep.

Apricot good gif, though it seems rather an awkward manouvre.

right... laters all - back to the housework

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 07/03/2015 15:29

Jeeeeesusssssss I've watched!!!!

OMFG those last 10 minutes - & next week's trailer - OMFGGGGGGGGGG.

Waaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh.

FancyFancy · 07/03/2015 15:37

Grin sparks, for all my gripes about the lack of consensual-Muskie-sexytimes, I am genuinely excited about what is going to happen to everyone in the next couple of episodes based on the trailers & what has been happening so far.
