Ooh, look, it's nearly time for a new thread and I'm the only one still here slumped across the bar. I think this place needs decorating ...

Badders I think Aramis is the most religious one in the series in that he's the only one who ever talks about religion: he gave Ninnon Queenie's cruxifix and defended Emilie's visions as being from God to the Captain which is why he got sent to deal with her. But given the rest never, ever mention religion that's not saying much.

Baddz · 28/02/2015 13:37

Yes, I agree, but it's still not explicitly stated is it?
I am sure in the book he was very religious (as everyone was back then I guess) and even undertook pilgrimages and wore a hair shirt.

IssyStark · 28/02/2015 13:55

There's the bit about his parents wanting him to be a priest in 'Knight Takes Queen' but that's more about their expectations, not his. I think in comparison to the others he is very religious it's just that the level of religiosity has been somewhat dialled down from what it was in the 19thC when Dumas was writing never mind the 17thC setting.

Afternoon wenches.

Have rewatched, and it’s just as good second time around.

I originally thought Marguerite had to steal the crucifix so that Rochefort could examine it properly, but he scrutinised it very closely in the church. Hmm

I think she's meant to look ill because she's so upset by Aramis's treatment of her. She didn’t appear to have any make-up on.

Hasn't Milady punished Athos enough? He's beginning to look like a hurt puppy every time he sees her. I don't want them to be together forever, but we could have a bit lot of passion.

Ah Comtess you know me so well. Grin

Oh poor BabyElk though I couldn't help but laugh. It's happened to us all.

Hope you're on your way now Helen. I hate the last day of holidays, you just want to get home.

I had to google the dress thing because I hadn't seen it. How weird. Pale blue and gold to me. I don't know what that says about my short-term memory. What dress? Wink

Happy Birthday to Floppers and Fancy.

Hope the party goes well Anne. Get better soon Jess.

Enormouse · 28/02/2015 14:13

Can I ask for this as a birthday present?

BloodyElkFire · 28/02/2015 14:24

Am I a worse mother for carrying on with typing the post, despite the baby rolling of the sofa situ?

Enormouse · 28/02/2015 14:36

Don't worry elk, I was so busy MNing once that I didn't notice toddlermouse had got bread, butter and ham out of the fridge and made himself a sandwich.

It's character building. Besides, look at my ideal birthday present - it's a baby mop. I'm clearly a terrible mother Grin

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 28/02/2015 14:41

Just running in to say Happy Birthday Fancy. Have a great big slice of something delicious. Like this.

mouse Grin at baby mop

Happy birthday fancy

FancyFancy · 28/02/2015 14:56

Totally cream & white madame, sometimes grey & darker gold - but that looks like a lighting thing.. DD saw it separately & thought blue & black, then we looked together on my laptop & both thought cream & gold. I have never in real life seen people disagree so fundamentally on colours - blue or green or shades of red or purple & blue (& my ex struggled with navy & black) maybe, but not like this. I suspect there is some digital effect going on. Good luck with the non-smoking btw

Hope you're on your way home now helen

Flowers to jess, glad you're starting to feel better, also to badders

Aramis is more religious in the book, but he's always 'falling of the wagon' at the merest hint of an adventure or fight. Plus there's the whole running gag about his 'bible study' being the excuse for being mysterious. He's obviously got mistresses - just is obsessively secretive about them.

Thanks to all for b'day wishes & to sparks for the gorgeous pics Grin. Hope you had a lovely day yesterday.

Am signing off for the day as DCs & I are going to see track cycling at the Olympic Park as a b'day treat. Have a great day everyone

Enormouse · 28/02/2015 14:57

OMG that's genius! :)
Just discussing puberty with ds1 for a booklet he has to produce.
He thinks the menopause is hilarious.
Looked a bit worried when I mentioned wet dreams though :)

MadamedeChevreuse · 28/02/2015 15:07

That mop baby is adorable. Grin

Glad youre having a good day fancy!

Ive now done extensive research on the dress issue. (Zzzzzzzz.) Its really not a digital effect - its all in our miiiiiinds / genetic. Woooooooooo.

And dont worry cream and golders re: poor memory - I asked my mum and she saw blue and black. Grin dp and ds both see cream and gold.

LaComtess · 28/02/2015 15:24

Afternoon wenchery!

Have just got home from matches, everyone in showers as straight off to rugby club for France Wales. Come on Wales!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FANCY AND FLOPS!

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 28/02/2015 15:37

Flops and Fancy sounds like Starsky and Hutch or something Grin

I guess I have to scroll back to see what this dress thing is all about

Been out for a walk and I'm completely knackered, I'm in such a bad shape Confused

BloodyElkFire · 28/02/2015 16:13

Oh mouse I have to get one of those....she can learn to crawl and do my parquet with one stone. Fabulous Grin

comtess did you not think Athos was sounding rather more gruff than usual....the "wait" as he stopped milady disappearing out of the louvre pinged right to my lady parts. Also thought he sounded snotty whilst examining the preliminary sketches, and they had him sitting down more than usual this week, rather than leaning on stuff, which I thought may have been a concession following a phone call to his agent - bless

LetUsPrey · 28/02/2015 16:17

Ah Wicked, Starsky and Hutch. I was a David Soul girl, even had his single.

Baby mop is inspired Grin

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 28/02/2015 17:05

Ffsssssss just typed a great long post & phone lost it. Just to say that Santi's grey beard hairs have been there since start of S1 & as I've caught sight of mine twice already today this only adds to his appeal quite frankly

Enormouse · 28/02/2015 17:06

Grin at fancy and flops bras.

I love babymop too but it's £29 for that growie. I'm gonna go for the cheapskate option and just strap some scourers to babymouse.

I think a teen version could be like a Ghostbusters style backpack/Hoover.

I so wish 'fetch the preparatory sketches' involved Athos and Porthos trying to finish the princess Louise portrait themselves. Athos is very tortured artiste.

Baddz · 28/02/2015 17:08

Omg did you see his hands when he was touching that bolt?
A noise may have escaped me.....

Enormouse · 28/02/2015 17:08

Actually fancy and flops could make Milady style corsets that make your bosoms the focus of any conversation.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 28/02/2015 17:36

Mouse Grin

mouse I think you have nailed it also shame the baby mop is so bloody expensive).

Apricot I think Milady is suffering as well, she just hides it better; she briefly looked desolate when Athos told her they were strangers from now on in Emilie before recovering and telling him he would always love her. Likewise I think she felt genuinely upset that he offered her money, not because he wanted her to have a safety net but because he wanted her to leave Paris. Plus of course, she hates being told what to do.

LaComtess · 28/02/2015 18:04

V tense here.

Badz I've seen a nice pic of that bolt bit on Twatter. Yum.

Elk I'm going to watch the sketches bit àgain and watch for snottiness. I love all gruff/shoutiness. GMTRH as you know. That bit from next week was also an instant clitpinger .

Issy I agree ref Milady. I thought the charity/ 'all i have' sequence was fab from both of them. She doesn't want to leave Paris eh.

I say KILL Roche Milady and we'll have Mazarin for S3.

LaComtess · 28/02/2015 18:06

Oh and Mouse hilare ref teen ghostbusters style outfit. Trouble is they bloody break hoovers
