I often find a tv series will completely suck me and remembering it takes me back to that point in my life.

Friends - growing up in the 90s as a teenager.

Lost - it began as DH and I got married and ended literally on the day we completed our family. Annoyed about the ending but it signifies such an important time for us and we were addicted as a couple.

Dexter - mat leave, again the end devastated me :(

Just started Breaking Bad (no spoilers please) and know this will be another one. Well into Walking Dead too, it's the only thing we sit down together to watch nowadays.

er.

lots of things in it you will never forget.

same with x files

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 16/02/2015 14:41

I watched Dexter in my maternity leave before DS was born. Some very hard scenes to watch especially when pregnant! Sad

Gileswithachainsaw · 16/02/2015 14:45

Oh and damsons Creek.

so lovely to see Jen's transformation from defiant wild child to loving friend and grand daughter and then to a loving mother.

then they killed her off. why?? Sad

Gileswithachainsaw · 16/02/2015 14:45

Dawson s Creek

CiderwithBuda · 16/02/2015 14:47

We have just finished watching The West Wing and I am bereft! I loved it and keep thinking about it and all the characters and wondering what happened to them all next. I miss them. Completely daft! Blush

Loved ER. And Friends.

I have only watched a few episodes of Grays Anatomy - my sis says she is envious of me having all of it in front of me.

Hannahabbott · 16/02/2015 14:59

thatsnotevenaword did you like the end of Dexter, I felt really let down by his choices.

For me it's usually comedies.

Friends, cheers, mork and mindy, spin city all remind me of Friday evenings as a kid.

QI reminds me of evenings in with babies nursing.

Tropicalchancer · 16/02/2015 15:16

Survivors! Stayed with me since and I often wonder about it as a potential reality

JuniperTisane · 16/02/2015 15:18

Tenko. Used to watch it with my granny. It all went over my head as a 6yr old though.

threepiecesuite · 16/02/2015 15:21

Bottom - used to watch it with my brother when our parents went to the pub, knew all the lines, loved it. So sad when Rik Mayall passed.

Cold Feet - I was very invested in the characters.

And of course, Breaking Bad. DH and I would watch 3 episodes a night and talk of nothing else. So brilliant, so clever.

rumbleinthejungle · 16/02/2015 15:27

Our Friends in the North. Had a massive impact on me. I can highly recommend it.

APotNoodleandaTommy · 16/02/2015 15:27

Cracker

TheLibraryIsOpen · 16/02/2015 15:29

I loved Your Cheating Heart in the 80s with Tilda Swinton and Robbie Coltrane. Would love to watch it again but can't find it anywhere.

RedCrayons · 16/02/2015 15:32

Lost was probably the first programme DH and I both loved, I have really fond memories of watching that together.

Although its a kids show And i watched it as a grown up, i really loved As If.

WellTidy · 16/02/2015 15:34

Marion and Geoff - I loved it. I found a lot of it very poignant.

Roger and Val Have Just Got In - again, very poignant. Amazing writing. It is my favourite thing that Dawn French has ever done.

I absolutely love Homeland. I am so involved in the characters. Yet to watch Season 4 as I'm waiting for it to come out on DVD this Autumn.

thenightsky · 16/02/2015 15:36

30-something.

Cold Feet.

Hannahabbott · 16/02/2015 15:37

threepiecesuite we watched the first three eps last night, really feel for Walter but like the comedy moments that lighten the mood too.

Friends and X Files transporte back to uni days.

Dawsons Creek. Watched it at a difficult time in my life when I wished I could turn back time to being a teenager again and have someone who adored me. I still watch my favourite episodes now if I'm feeling low, it's like putting on comfy clothes and shutting the curtains.

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 16/02/2015 15:48

Hannah No, I felt the series really lost its way once the love interest was introduced, kinda wanted to see it through to the end but was disappointed by it. Ooh I miss having a good boxset to work through with DH!

StockingFullOfCoal · 16/02/2015 15:50

Supernatural - started watching aged 18 and its still my favourite show.

Dexter - S4 finale when I was heavily pregnant - I was an absolute sobbing mess! I'm loving the popularity of it now its on Netflix.

StockingFullOfCoal · 16/02/2015 15:50

Survivors - BBC Angry how dare you leave it like that!

Angelto5 · 16/02/2015 16:12

Buffy the vampire slayer-best ending ever!
