Wickedlazy that plot would be fab. Perhaps Lauren has done it, maybe the piece of paper has made it flood back and now she is going to admit it, realising abi and Max covered it up. I am sure it is a branning, not a Beale.

youarekiddingme · 16/02/2015 18:46

I suggested similar re Lauren when she got drunk in car lot. I think though iirc she'd gone to Lucys because she wanted to drink but didn't actuaally want to drink iyswim? But then lucy wasn't there.

Fakebook · 16/02/2015 19:03

Sorry, not the night she died, the day they found out she'd died, which is still sick.

waithorse · 16/02/2015 19:15

Wives can testify against husbands now.

Southeastdweller · 16/02/2015 19:24

Even if J.J is well enough for the live inserts or/and the fully live episode, would the bosses give her the pressure just a few days after giving birth?

Sorry if I sound patronising.

RedCrayons · 16/02/2015 19:49

Even if is well enough and wants to do it, it would have been too risky to have written anything for her. Ahe could have gone into labour during the live bits.

Southeastdweller · 16/02/2015 19:56

Exactly, which is why I'm discounting Lauren from being the killer.

RedCrayons · 16/02/2015 20:05

I've ruled out all of the Brannings out.
When Emma came back from meeting the murderer, she was at the kitchen table and talking to Abi, Lauren and Max, normally. As normal as you can when you've just been run over.
Plus Abi is waaaaay too obvious, plus I want her to stick around because I love evil Abi.

I'm still thinking Jane with Denise as my back up killer. and Whitney

Cooki3Monst3r · 16/02/2015 20:06

I just had a dream whilst putting ds to bed that it was Jake... and he was grinding up her blood and bones for a spell?!?!

When I woke up I was thinking that although they've said the murderer isn't necessarily going to end up in prison, it will change that character forever, I think to such a degree that the character will be spoilt. The show is already losing Lauren, and Peter. I don't think they would lose, or ruin another pivotal character.

IMO that rules out Max, Abi or Ian. It does leave Jane (she comes and goes anyway). Or someone a bit 'spare' like the Corkers, or Lee, or Pyscho Ben who loves to go around accidentally killing people.

Either way, I think they're leading us up the garden path. Whoever it is, it's no one we think it is!!!

laracroft2001 · 16/02/2015 20:10

Long time lurker here.
My prediction is either Lola or Ronnie

Only by default as neither are suspects but have been off screen the last few weeks.

Peter would be involved/somehow the reason if it was Lola

RedCrayons · 16/02/2015 20:16

If its the bloody Cokers, I'll put my foot through the telly.

I might add lee to my back up killer list on the basis that the Carters are involved in all the big storylines.

VashtaNerada · 16/02/2015 20:16

Has everyone seen the first episode on iplayer? Brought back so many memories! www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b053l8b7/eastenders-episode-1-19021985

RedCrayons · 16/02/2015 20:19

Might watch that tonight Vashta.

I loved the Back to Ours episodes. Especially Ronnie and Roxy taking the piss out of each other

Southeastdweller · 16/02/2015 20:24

The only reason I think it could be either Les or Pam or both is that we still don't know who Pam killed when she was a social worker so maybe they're holding back this reveal for the Lucy reveal and tie it in somehow.

I'm sticking with Cindy helped by Jane, but Lee's also moving up my list - the Carters are a a big part of the show now as Red says and Lee hasn't had much to do lately.

Cooki3Monst3r · 16/02/2015 20:27

Either way, I am seriously pissed off there's no EE on tonight. Angry

AGnu · 16/02/2015 20:59

I'm watching the first episode now. I've noticed a few things - they comment on how Reg was a "cantankerous old man" so I bet another cantankerous old man, aka Stan, will die during live week. Racism seems to feature heavily & there's a warning at the start about how it was first shown in 1985 & some things may offend modern viewers!

It wasn't Pete Beale who was one of the 3 kicking down the door, it was Arthur Fowler. That'll be why Martin's one of the new 3... That & the fact that while the original door was being kicked down his mum was at the doctors having just discovered she's pregnant with him! Ali makes some comment in the caff about being a "stupid Turk" - am I making things up or is Kush Turkish too? I have a vague recollection of him saying he was while helping Shabnam cook once. That just leaves a Den-replacement... Maybe Mick as the Vic's landlord?

I'll go watch the other half now! Grin

Mrsjayy · 16/02/2015 21:01

Remember the Graham Norton thing is on tonight and repeated tomorrow on bbc3. I was watching the cliffhangers programme earlier the actress who played Ethell was 90 Shock when she did her last episode

Mrsjayy · 16/02/2015 21:02

Oh was it Arthur will be Mick yeah Kush is Turkish

QueenFuri · 16/02/2015 21:12

I've been watching the original 80s episodes on YouTube. They are great a lot more gritty and real my fave characters from back then were Sue and Lofty!

Southeastdweller · 16/02/2015 21:17

I can still remember many of the 80's episodes, especially the one when we found out who was the father of Michelle's baby.

June Brown is 88 today.

Very excited for this weeks episodes Smile

Southeastdweller · 16/02/2015 21:18

I think Kush is Iranian?!

AGnu · 16/02/2015 21:28

I wasn't even born when the first episode was on! Blush

Did anyone notice when Den was killed? Was there an investigation? Someone said to him in the very first episode "wait until it's you" referring to Reg being missing & no-one noticing.

Prediction for live week: Someone will comment on Lauren's pregnancy news with the line "Having a baby at your age?" like Lou Beale said to Pauline in the first episode! Grin

AGnu · 16/02/2015 21:34

Oh, yeah, he may well be Iranian... There goes that theory! Perhaps they should've had Ian there as current owner of the caff!

Someone mentioned up-thread about the time Ian ran away & slept rough for a while. I'm sure after that Lucy made him sign over all the businesses to her so she was protected if he did it again. Did she sign them back again? There's been no mention of any legal ramifications of her death or ownership of the businesses! Confused

My brain's all cotton-wool-ish today thanks to a horrible cold. I really hope it clears before tomorrow evening - how am I supposed to analyse every glance if I can't think straight?! Sad

Does anyone know, I thought I saw that the cast were being told half an hour beforehand who the killer was... Is that half an hour before the first live-parts episode or before the reveal episode?

In the very first episode it's Den & Angie's anniversary - that means Jane & Ian's wedding will be on the same date & we all know how successful Den & Angie's marriage was!

Mrsjayy · 16/02/2015 21:35

Is he thought he was Turkish

Mrsjayy · 16/02/2015 21:38

Oh yeah I saw june brown was 88. I have been telling the dds who so and so was and who thier sister is they said how can you remember all that.
