Surely it's jam then cream???

icemist how lovely and vunerable he looks in pic 1. I just want to stroke him! The NHS should just perscribe CJ for hangovers. I'm sure he could make us all feel better. :)

Nickel45 · 21/02/2015 08:01

Love that hospital puppy dog eyes picture.

Has to be jam then cream, else the cream jam falls off the cream or maybe that's just down to the huge amount of cream I like on me scone, which has to be clotted cream. Could really do with one of them this morning, both kids up early and littlie been whining non stop for the last hour and a half. DH finally up, so back to bed for half hour!

Nickel45 · 21/02/2015 08:03

... I'll try again .... else the jam falls off the cream ... Can you be asleep and still type?!

icemistOBE · 21/02/2015 08:22

It's the thought of eating a scone with jam and cream

OP posts:
orphan · 21/02/2015 08:31

Mmm, jam then cream most definitely ( and no currants in the scone).

I think cream tea with CJ could be a combination of two of my favourite things.

Good luck to your ds for today richtea!

orphan · 21/02/2015 08:33

And it's tea first then milk added by the way.

pixieg1rl · 21/02/2015 08:44

Oh orphan, you were doing so well until the tea. Milk in first, tsk.

Onlygirljen · 21/02/2015 09:02

Am I the only one who does cream then jam?! Although if I was having a cream tea with CJ, then anything goes..Grin

My hangover must be improving if I can stomach the thought of food.

orphan · 21/02/2015 09:04

But how do you judge how strong/weak the tea will end up if you put milk in first pixie? Isn't milk in first an indicator of how posh you are? I've clearly failed...

Nickel45 · 21/02/2015 09:12

Isn't it cream first then jam, if you're from Devon? Damn, if only we had BA here to ask?!
I don't like tea, and coffee is so much simpler :) in fact my DH won't let me make him tea any more as I do it 'wrong'! (result there then!!)

orphan · 21/02/2015 09:32

On the pudding/cake British citizenship test there should be Welsh cakes included. Given I treat currants with great suspicion, they're surprisingly delicious (served warm slathered in butter).

Mmm, slathering and CJ are two words I'd like to put together..Grin

pixieg1rl · 21/02/2015 09:40

So basically our fantasy now involves CJ and a whole load of baked goods.

TOTALLY works for me. I'm going to stock up on clotted cream....

cherin · 21/02/2015 09:53

It took me about 5 yrs in this country to realise that Cream tea is not a perverse twist on milk in tea, but a delicious tea with clotted cream and strawberry jam scone...I still find the scones very crumbly and end up in a disgusting swirly mess on the plate which i have to scoop up discreetely...but I suspect I am not the only one?

I love scots at weddings!! Used to have two charming ex colleagues that wore kilts at Xmas parties. Always wondering what was underneath...I struggled to understand them most of the time, but when I catched their jokes they were really the funniest!!!

You can waste your time discussing milk and tea bags, but the quintessential British quality is pragmatism and respect. Be proud of that :-)

cherin · 21/02/2015 09:55

Sorry, I meant qualities (plural) and are. But you're all hangover so you don't mind, uh?

pixieg1rl · 21/02/2015 09:56

But we're too modest to celebrate that cherin...

cherin · 21/02/2015 10:16

As one of my previous bosses said "as long as my mum knows that I have been good, I am happy". But really, every now and then it's good to give yourself a nice look and say out loud: I have done something good, I am proud of it and so everybody else should know :-)

orphan · 21/02/2015 11:20

cherin I can certainly be pragmatic about my desire to have CJ bound and slathered in cream round for afternoon tea and I'm sure I could muster some respect for his delicious cream covered torso him.Grin

icemistOBE · 21/02/2015 12:32

painted I'm liking the new story! I'd vote for him Grin

OP posts:
cjwoofwoof · 21/02/2015 14:14

Now that I'm a star of fiction I feel the need to share my pragmatic and respectful thoughts on CJ and whipped cream, and they are ....yes please Grin

SPO you are sublime, and when in the future you are awarded the Pullitzer Prize, please remember us little people who gave you such inspiration!!!

cjwoofwoof · 21/02/2015 14:26

Well done cherin on becoming a Brit (Union flag billowing). Now when your DH gets amorous you're entitled to lie back and think of England like the rest of us!!! Grin

cherin · 21/02/2015 15:00

Ahemm, woofwoof, maybe you don't remember that my husband (who is also now British, btw) has a more than passing resemblance to CJ...England is not really at the focus of my attention in those moments ;-)
(Yes I am a lucky woman!)

pixieg1rl · 21/02/2015 15:02

Are you thinking of what needs to go on the shopping list like the rest of us then Wink

cherin · 21/02/2015 15:19

Tze tze
I may be thinking sand and grime (and I can always pass it for thinking about sandy summer beaches ;-)

Nickel45 · 21/02/2015 15:37

You lucky lady cherin :)

In still thinking CJ and cream cakes. yum. Taken 3 kids to Chinese dragon parade, noodle bar, now the park. I need a distraction!!!
