It's back on Thursday! here. No details of contestants yet. How many men this time? Any?

Ten sewers, six weeks, can't wait!

(Can't think of another word for sewers at the moment, wish I could!)

I think Debra might be gone. Her jacket wasn't good.

bluelamp · 05/03/2015 20:54

Think Deborah might go Sad

Roussette · 05/03/2015 20:56

Oh I am disappointed Deborah has gone, I really like her and what she's done.

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 05/03/2015 20:56

I think it was between Debra and Matt.

Greymalkin · 05/03/2015 21:41

So this is the first time I've watched TGBSB, what kind of things do they have to do in the final? I'd love to see them make a ball gown, wedding dress or a Saville Row type suit!

Roussette · 05/03/2015 22:05

Grey yes, it's usually something like a ball gown, or prom dress... a wedding dress would be a good one!

Sad to lose Deborah - it must have been bloody close. Glad Matt improved though.

Surely Lorna must edge it on the final. Please. I'll sulk if Neil wins - his wetsuit conversion was the same halter dress yet again.

Roussette · 06/03/2015 07:53

Yes, I think Lorna is an all rounder. Neil is precision but I agree he does seem to go for the same sort of style. I think the final challenge like last year will sort it. I am now rooting for Lorna!

I'm cross I shall miss the Final as I have something on, oh well, will catch up with it on iPlayer.

OnlyLovers · 06/03/2015 09:25

I was disappointed that Patrick didn't turn up in a wetsuit or a catsuit. Grin

I don't like Lorna much. I suspect the producers think she's in the same 'lovely lady' bracket as Heather from last year, but Heather was a bit nuts and very funny where I think Lorna is quite dull. Anyone see her reaction shot when Matt held up his discarded fabric and said 'This looks like your outfit from yesterday, Lorna'? She was NOT amused.

I'm rooting for Neil but I fancy Matt so I'd be happy if he won too. Unfortunately I don't think he's got quite enough fair or technical ability.

dillite · 06/03/2015 11:02

I was very sad to see Deborah go. Although it was tight between them. Paul where as, was not a surprise at all. I loved his elephant print shirt though.

dillite · 06/03/2015 11:04

Not sure who I would like to see winning though. I don't think any of them have shown any creativity, when there was no pattern to follow.

SoupDragon · 06/03/2015 11:07

I would have liked to see Ryan win - it would have been nice to see a young winner. I think this is between Neil and Lorna. I would like to see a male winner so I'll have to say Neil.

Clockingoff · 06/03/2015 11:15

I think Lorna's lovely. A mix of 'very British' and slightly quirky. She also seems to be the most consistently good sewer, while also having a bit of imagination and creative flair. I'm definitely hoping she wins.

Seff · 06/03/2015 11:33

I would like for the finalists to have to make something other than a skirt or a dress, I felt the first two challenges last night favoured Neil and Matt. I'm not sure what could be challenging enough for the final, last year was a tie wasn't it for the first challenge?

I think Deborah's alteration challenge dress would have been GOTW if she hadn't been being sent home, I thought she did really well with that.

I'd like Lorna to win. Neil is good, but he tends to stick with what he knows he can do. When Lorna cut the boobs out of the wetsuit last night I was quite Shock but it turned out quite well.

MrsHathaway · 06/03/2015 12:10

Ooooh yes the tie was a beautiful challenge. I'd love to see them have to make something that isn't clothing - maybe a lined bag or something, although that might be too simple. Or slippers?

SoupDragon · 06/03/2015 13:12

I would like their made-to-measure challenge be a removable cover for a sofa :o

Quenelle · 06/03/2015 13:21

I didn't want Deborah to go Sad

PigeonPie if your classes were in my part of the world I would definitely want to come Smile I hope they go well for you.

Quenelle · 06/03/2015 13:24

Oh and I agree six episodes are not enough. This year's Masterchef is going to be 24 episodes! They could definitely get rid of some of them two at a time Angry

Roussette · 06/03/2015 16:42

Masterchef is 24? That's appalling! I've just got in my stride with this and it's the last week next week!

I would love the final challenge next week to be something like a bridesmaid's dress.

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 06/03/2015 17:22

They have several Masterchef episodes in a week don't they? Lots of back to back people poncing about with "de-constructed" "jus" and "foam" nonsense. Nothing that you could ever hope to make in real life.

We want stitching!

PigeonPie · 06/03/2015 17:27

How about when it's finished Sad - instead of watching television - taking up making something and doing it on a Thursday evening and then commenting on it on thread in Arts and Crafts?

Quenelle · 06/03/2015 17:30

Yes we do!

Those Masterchefs do drag on. DH and I used to watch but got bored and gave up halfway through the last series.

OnlyLovers · 06/03/2015 18:09

Masterchef is 24 episodes? Shock That's basically half a YEAR! It's not that interesting, is it?

SoupDragon · 06/03/2015 18:26

Masterchef is about 3 episodes a week so it doesn't last that long :)
