I've heard of schools where they get away with that by moving all the allocated PE time to after the sats, and doing much more PE in June/July as "enrichment" or something similar. It's rubbish though

It is so crap that schools are being put under pressure to do this kind of rubbish, because of results. ds is not affected by the PE thing thankfully, but I think year 6 parents have complained. From my experience I don't have a great impression of the governors tbh. Hmm.

What is it with the lost things this week? Hope you find your phone mavis. My odd technique for dealing with cold feet is knee length pure wool socks as I'm a bit sensitive to wool. The mild reaction to the wool keeps my feet warm .

madame, that is shit about the PE & probably counter productive. DD was Y6 last year & her lovely teacher set aside all of Friday afternoon for PE, even right up to SATS week. It helped the kids wind down before the weekend & got rid of a lot of strees. And our results were fine (& thanks re the coat btw, yours was rather fetching too & really suited you!)

Fancy and Madame I'm also part of the cheapo Boden sale clique. I had a Boden mac for work for ages but I'm currently wearing the Seasalt one for everything cos it's soooo lovely. . I've never bought anything without a serious chunk off. I do like their boxes of socks though. Really wear well. I've got quite a few of their Breton stripe tops but their trousers are always odd for me.

Evening wenches. I went to work, I came home, I showered and got ready and went out again. Back home now. I've read and most of what I can remember is Aramis and pictures of slippers.

I have a pair of slipper boots and a pair of foot duvets from John Lewis. Both pairs of upstairs though.
