Thread number one.

So are we all still watching, despite the mumbling, bad writing and inaccuracies?

I'm not sure what ClaireGwen is up to, but they've written her to like kinky sex which in telly land means she's a bad un.

Last night's highlight for me was DH's genuine confusion over whether subtitles were for the hearing impaired or vision impaired (he may have had a couple of beers). Also sweaty Lee hammering in fence posts.

Has that junior solicitor fella been in something on CBBC?

When does The Missing season 2 start?

All I got from this episode was that thr Gillespie woman has shagged Lee. The babysitters phone ended up in Plymouth. That the note found in the files which hardy can't remember seeing lead them to an agricultural furnace in Plymouth area. And that Gillespie went to Amsterdam a lot and brought drugs back.

AnnieHoo · 02/02/2015 22:51

...And Gillespie guy was trying to get the waitress at the wedding to take a drink from his hipflask but she said no.

So Claire and the Gillespie guy were shagging, Lee and Gillespie woman were shagging. Gillespie guy allegedly gets drugs from Amsterdamn - according to Lee. Gillespie guy gave Lee the rohypnol - according to Lee. The babysitter's phone ended up in Portsmouth I think, I thought the agricultural place was in Sand.... whatever it's called?

Nerf · 02/02/2015 23:02

So Claire was drugged by gIllespie guy not lee, then woke up to lee cleaning.

lostoncemore · 02/02/2015 23:04

No she claims she was drugged by Lee, which Lee admitted to DT but said he got the drug from gillespie guy.

eddiemairswife · 02/02/2015 23:05

I too was concerned about the water and Freddie; I was also concerned about the water and DT if he had one of his turns when he was by it. Everyone seems to be having sex with everyone else. So unlike the quiet cul-de-sac where I live.

Nerf · 02/02/2015 23:12

Nooo, I think she thinks Lee drugged her but it was actually Gillespie to get her out the way while lee and Gillespie cleared away the body.

AnnieHoo · 02/02/2015 23:14

Ahh I wasn't sure where the Agri place was. Was it in sandbrook?

AnnieHoo · 02/02/2015 23:16

y y Nerf that's what I was thinking

ChuckNovice · 02/02/2015 23:25

Oh I was worrying about Fred. The camera kept going to him like something bad was going to happen.

lostoncemore · 02/02/2015 23:34

Oh nerf I hadn't thought about that, tbh Claire has changed her story so much I am surprised if she knows what the truth is.

noseymcposey · 02/02/2015 23:55

The furnace was in Portsmouth. DT and OC had a conversation about the mobile phone of the older blonde (potentially) murdered girl who was baby sitting. Apparently it was traceable for (15hours?) after they disappeared as far as Portsmouth. Ellie suggested that it was because older babysitter had killed younger girl and scarpered to France (from portsmouth) Then they found a business address in portsmouth, went there and voila there is a furnace for burning bodies.

BOFster · 03/02/2015 00:07

Yes, in a long-disused industrial site, where there's no security yet somebody is helpfully still paying the electricity bills...

AliceinWinterWonderland · 03/02/2015 00:18

Yes, for the love of God, can that blasted woman stop leaving her toddler ds unsupervised, especially right there by the water? I get completely distracted from the actual dialogue because I'm stressing over whether the child drowning is going to be part of the storyline and I couldn't cope with that. Grrrrrrrrrrr

BOFster · 03/02/2015 00:24

Talking of drowning, it is surely a testament to DI Hardy's general competence that we see him announce he is "going for a walk" after a funny turn, alongside some open water and then a few cliff tops?

AliceinWinterWonderland · 03/02/2015 00:27

I did wonder about that - obviously a risk taker. Grin

ArabellaStrange · 03/02/2015 00:36

Best line of the night 'look, Hardy, bumper cars!'...
I got goosebumps as soon as I saw the plastic flaps in that warehouse place.
I thought the defence barrister lady was highly unprofessional with her attack on prosecution lady over the son being beaten up.

ArabellaStrange · 03/02/2015 00:39

Oh and I was also worrying about Freddy being near all that water with Ell being so absorbed in the case files!

ArabellaStrange · 03/02/2015 00:41

And what exactly is Tom going to say? Cannot see that going at all well.

AnnieHoo · 03/02/2015 00:55

Does defence barrister have an unrequited, unspoken desire for prosecution barrister from back in the days when she was practicing? Was she too embarrassed to say she couldn't take up her sons case because she thought she was going blind?

Is the newspaper editor the prosecution barrister's old flame?

Am I stating the bleeding obvious here?

Losing the plot!

katese11 · 03/02/2015 06:41

love the hypocrisy of DT telling Ellie not to get dragged into Sandbrook!!!

The argument between counsels...Did Jocelyn really say she didn't take the other one's son's case because she didn't like her enough? That seems a bit lame, as revelations go. And for goodness sake...hire a student to record audio versions of the documents for you! Or at least tell your junior what's going on...

FoxyMcFox · 03/02/2015 06:51

I had assumed editor was prosecution barrister's sister, but old flame would make sense too.

I also thought Lee could have easily fought Ricky off, seeing as how he a) saw him coming and b) is as fit as a butcher's dog.

The scene with the church full of paedo blokes was RIDICULOUS but vicar was looking delicious.

And while I am thinking of it, love DT in the river body recovery scenes, sans beard. Mmmmm so smoooooth. Beard growth obv an indicator of mental anguish.

whothehellknows · 03/02/2015 07:29

If Ricky killed the girl, why is he kicking Lee's ass?

hackmum · 03/02/2015 07:58

It's increasingly bonkers and confusing, but am enjoying it more than I was.

I worry about when DT is actually doing his lecturing job and why Ellie is running around the country rather than doing her traffic cop job. Doesn't anyone notice they're gone?

And would a criminal barrister really draw up someone's will for them? I mean, would they even know how to do it?
